And you've had this bike for how many minutes?
He's one of us !!
Whart.. I've got the FBF kit on my bike.. I think it looks great, but I've got my doubts about the daytime brightness of the taillight.. I wish it was a bit brighter.
Lemme know if you want me to post a photo.
Cheers, Tim

Oh, you're talking about motorcycle parts...my guess was going to be waay off base.
JRT
that explains the ointment comment in your aerostitch post, Cover Boy !

When I was setting up to do my Coast to Coast last january, I bought a Chatterbox system. My thinking was that I could hook up my iPod and also have the ability to talk with other riders on future rides. I didn't end up using it.
I found the speaker placement in the helmet a bit difficult to get comfortable. The unit itself seems to work just fine, and the device can me mounted to the helmet or on the tank bag with an extension cord.
So its sitting in a box. If anyone wants to buy a slightly used Chatterbox system, PM me. I'm returning to the classic way of communicating with passengers -- nods, yells, hand signals.......and if they're really cute women, the odd grope and squeeze ! Woo Hoo !!
Cheers, Tim

I rode the Skyline road up to Alice's for the first time yesterday. Rode with a neighbor on his S4 (very nicely modified) and his buddy on a early 90's 900SS with a sweet sounding Staintune exhaust system.
What a great road, and although we kept the speed within reason, there were no cops. We rode early in the morning, so I was back home by 11:00. As we were leaving Alice's the chrome framed GSX's were showing up... radar fodder all of them !!!
I'll be handling visiting relatives all week, so no riding this coming weekend, but pretty clear after that if we want to do the Death Valley thing...
Cheers, Tim

Death Valley ? I think so.
Leave Sat morning, go to Vegas via the secondary highways..
Get into mischief and debt on Sat night in Vegas.
Wake up very early Sunday morning, ride through Death Valley as the sun comes up.
Ride home

Hey Mike
I'm off for a quick ride this am. Alice's and back. Leaving at 7:15 w/ a neighbor on his Duc.
But I would really be interested in the Death Valley ride.
Cheers, Tim

When I recently re-did my insurance, the new company asked if there were modifications greater than $1000 on the bike.. I fit under the level.
I guess insurance companies here are looking for those modifications from a replacement value perspective.. Not sure that they look to raise the rates because the modification indicate you're a fast rider and/or that the bike is now faster because of the modifications.
Other thoughts?

while I'm stuck in the office, my friend took the Tuono for a ride and snapped some nice photos..
Arrghh..

well, not meaning to hijack this thread into a relay discussion but..... I've had a very intermittant problem where I've got full electrics and fully charged battery and all I get is a click when I push the starter.
As a result I've bump started the V11 about 12 times over the last 2 months.. Then magically it will electric start the next day..
Dunno about frying the computer, it runs fine. However I will give you this very strong warning. When bump starting if you plan on sitting down hard on the seat as you release the clutch for added rear grip, please make sure your ass hits the padded seat and not the extremely rigid cowl. Failure to do so results in a bruised tailbone, which is not a very pleasant experience. Trust me..

Given the rave reviews that the Tuono seems to have garnered... since they had it already on-hand, it would have been even better if they could have also included more info on a contrast/compare between the two.... as a side-bar... just for fun
Al.. drop over to the east bay and you can do the comparison with mine !!

Looks like a Baker engine in a Beardmore Precision... hmmmm...

cool !! Now we can get some of that famed Fiat and Alpha reliability and dealer support for our Guzzis !!

well.. I got the Tuono as the second bike.. Its great. Rode up to Sacramento and back yesterday and it was really frickin cold in the morning heading up there. I was wishing for heated everything !
Depending on how they perform/sell, I might look at a Paul Smart Ducati replica in a couple of years..
Right now the V11 and the Tuono are a nice riding mix for me.

The model's name is Tiffany. I'm guessing 1980's vintage. I suspect she's powered by men with large bank accounts.

hats off to Dan.. anyone who can mix Zappa, hockey, PETA, and ribs deserves a round of applause. Mix in a little recreational pharmacueticals and you've got Fear and Loathing on the hockey trail !
