  1. As smaller footed rider( size 8) , as much as I would love the relocation kit on my new pride and joy(Coppa, recently acquired from MI, my favorite Guzzi shop on the planet), putting the shifter further away makes it even harder to shift and unless an alternative comes up to move back toward the footpeg, its a'"deal with it" thing for now....although the Ducati ST4 rubber foot rests do help a bunch with the cushioning ...Cheers
  2. Why not check the boat supply shops? In the past I purchased some type of fire resistant hose which is used on boats to sleeve over fuel hoses as a fire protector. It was red reuuber on the outside, about 1 inch OD and 1/2-9/16 ID.
  3. Great looking Ballabio! I would look for the German made Kellermans, very small and powerful, but not cheap, the last place I remember seeing them in a specialty Ducati shop in Germany called Ducati Shed.I have some on my 998 but I am not techologically advanced to send pics .yet.Cheers
  4. Thanks for the info, Jim...my 2 cts worth is that the brake and shfter pedals will always need some type of mod to be accessed comfortably from whatever footpeg position is selected, original or modified, and both the the swing angle( of the pedals) and the distance from footpeg to control pedal has to be adjustable( or adjusted) in order to be comfortable... since Centauro foot control items are not easily available,(or certainly comfortable for every rider) the next thing is , after getting the footpegs position comfortable, to modify the brake and shifter pedals accordingly...for example, for me the shifter is too far forward( size 8 foot) and the brake pedal too high...its time to cut and weld, , with a bit of brake pedal aluminium reinforcement thrown in for good luck...more to follow..
  5. Guess the tall fellows may get more dates, but they are at a disadvantage when it comes to wind protection. At 5 ' 7" my Coppa Italia fairing does a decent job, not nearly a good as the 02 LeMans I had , but at 80mph and lower it works well , with virtually no helmet buffeting... for long trips, though, that Norge looks appealing...
  6. If they work as well as claimed, you can count me in for a set as well.
  7. Just to add my 2cts worth ,I have been riding my CI with Napoleon bar end on the right and a Halcyon( Brit, the original bar end mirror) on the left. The Napoleon is fine as I have used satisfactorily on several bikes, but the Halcyon a flatter(larger) view, for those guys who dont like convex glass. For the Euro and Brit fellows, the Halcyons are available from th UK from the manufacturer and pprobalbly others, for those of us in the States, Dave Quinn Motorcycles has them and probably others, and at last the bar end mirrors for the Ducati Sport Classic are available from Pro Italia (Glendale,California). They look like fancier chromed Napoleons with a different mirrorr head , priced at 169.95 USD... choices, choices....
  8. Thanks, Guys! Santa came early this year and, after a quick trip to ForwardAir, the container was unlocked, to reveal a very festive looking Coppa. With a bit of dead dinosaur juice , she fired right up.Dang, those guys at Moto International are good!. She ran great on the way home and if it wasnt for the rain( and darkness) I would have kept on riding,as the grin on my face was stretching out my helmet... Cheers and Happy holidays
  9. [OK, then, with the Rosso Corsa I recommend Moretti "La Rossa", with the Nero Corsa the" Negra Modelo"( from Mexico). as for those with the bad -ass Scura , nothing short of Guinness will do. Of course this only applies to to US in general so if you are from Europe, Scandinavia, UK,Down Under, then, I am sure many more choices are available...oh, and yes, home brews can be outstanding if properly executed...Cheers
  10. Looks like on the test results like the Griso would have the edge on the 400 meter drag race, but the Hog would take top speed victory. As far as any other info re handling, braking etc, not much is written in the article
  11. On the other end, if it wasnt for my favorite dealer( Moto International), I would probably be riding a H...a, so, as thankless a task it may seem to be( being aMG dealer), there are many of us out in riderland( including the USA) who ride Guzzis not simpy because of the love of the brand, but because the dealers make it possible...great service breeds customer loyalty...
  12. Ok, I've done it. Got a new Coppa Italia on its way in January(and, yes,I do plan to ride this winter). Was just wondering what the guys(or gals) that are riding one of those think, any particular issues encountered, grins, gripes and other related facts. Any info will be appreciatied. I havent had a v11/ Lemans since the 2002 model which I loved and hated simultaneously, and which got me back on a 2003 Cali PI( which has been great, by the way)
  13. In my case it was indeed the last straw...oil leak from front cover, leaky steering damper, and last,Bubbonic plague hit my engine cases.... took the Guzzi offer for some bags ...to be installed on my new Guzzi I traded the LM in for , a 03 California EV... still miss that LM, though, and to remedy that, a Coppa Italia is in the works...hopefully the quality control has improved...Cheers
  14. Hello, fellow v11 Guzzisti. I have owned Guzzis since 1977 ( the first was a v7 Ambassador rescued from a back yard in San Francisco) My current bike( and 7thGuzzi) is a 2003 California EV and I am working on getting a Coppa Italia soon. What these bikes have that appeals to me is soul and uniqueness. They are by no means perfect but very fulfilling to ride. Hope to see any of you on the roads that I travel. Cheers,Augie
  15. Thank God someone is showing some interest in this post! I will contact Todd ( unless he has already seen this post ,in which case , please holler!) I am sure that a lot of Guzzisti would love having a Guzzi Day where demo rides, tech sessions/activities ,raffles, the appearances of some Guzzi celebs ( how about it , Dr John or Guzziology's Mr Richardson?) any way this is the kind of thing to promote Guzzi Spirit... I will also do whatever I can to help organize... I am looking forward to make some suggestions to MGNA at the Cycle World Motorcycle Show in San Jose in December...Cheers,Augie
  16. Just got back from Ducati Day in La Honda( renamed laDucati for the day).Great event, huge attendance, lots of cool bikes... even a few Guzzis...Would be nice to have a Guzzi Day..not just a MGNOC thing or a local chapter ride kinda thing, but a bonafide MGNA backed Guzzi Day...bet lots of Guzzisti would come out of the woodwork...anyone with ideas and or suggestions? Cheers.
  17. Yeah, I guess thats what people with great riding conditions ( not to mention bikes),you on a Tenni on VancouverI sland, me on the back roads of Norhtern Cal, get to worry about, how many did they make, registries etc, while a great number of our brethren are already freezing their tushes off and dreaming of warmer riding seasons... still, seems like good trivial fun.....Cheers,

    coppa italia

Does anyone on the forum know how many Coppa Italias have been manufactured? As they are only 2004's (at least in USA) this might just be another case of Tenni(s) like production. #'s..Any light shed on the topic would be great( and besides it probably makes a good topic doesnt it?).Cheers
  19. As a ex v11Lemans ( and a lifetime Guzzista) owner I have missed my 2002 enough to lust after a Coppa, even though a Nero or a Rosso were originally my first choices... The Ohlins sure do make a big difference for me as a sales point( have had Ohlins shocks on some bikes and on my Cali EV as well as the full Monty on my Duc 998s.) The Marzocchi front forks were quite good in my experience om the LM , but the rear Sachs so-so.. looking forward to a Coppa as a more user friendly alternative to the Duc( awsome but best in small doses)... Glad to see positive feed back on the bikes from most of the posters.. Will report on my experience after I manage to snag on of my own.Cheers
  20. on past EFI guzzis I've used Nissan sentra(91-95) filters . it has 5/16 spouts at both ends, easily available in OEM and aftermarket. You may want to try that :ciao
