  1. I don't have a Tenni, but I have heavy bar ends from Moto International on my v11 sport. They work!

Send Greg Field a PM, he works at Moto International, and he's a regular contributor to this board.

  2. For the bars Moto Int'l in Sea. has some aftermarket bar end weights. They work well on my bike, you may want to check if they fit your bike too. Some folks have also used Barsnake to tame the bar vibes. You ll become smoother w the throttle, I too felt the first time I rode the bike that it was more abrupt than my other bike with a chain, though this would prove not to be the case.

+1 for the Moto International bar ends. They work even in Denmark.

And congratulations on your new ride. You even got the colour right :D

  3. A business model? Sure. Independant design center run by motorcycle professionals. If it doen't matter wherethey're built, why does it matter what badge is on the tank? Just get a Honda and be done with it.

Actually I thought it didn't matter to me, where they build the bikes, but you're so right about this.

The heritage is part of the guzzi experience to me.

  4. What tire do you use?

I have Metzeler z6, and I just recently found out, that Metzeler recommends 2,5 front and 2,9 back, which is way more than factory recommandation. Now I go with Metzelers recommandation, and it has definetely settled my bike down. It used to weave in the high speed curves...

  5. Went out for a little ride with some buddies sunday evening. After an hour of driving, a popping on decel worsens, shortly after, the bike turns much louder. I look down on the left cylinder, and a huge crack in the header is smiling at me. It's cracked all the way through.

I pull over, call for roadassistance, and an hour later, my bike is picked up, and I'm on my way home, pillion on my friends (admittedly comfy) V-strom backseat...

My mechanic will weld the crack, but I've sent Todd at guzzitech an inquiry for the crackfree headers.

Dang, the summer has just started here in Denmark.

  6. Something like '98 iirc. Dr. John was still at Guzzi, working on the revamped Quota, but soon to leave due to the Aprilia takeover/housecleaning.

Rather the early nineties. They are talking about the launch of the daytona.

What happened by the way to the 128 ponies available with a chip and a new exhaust??

  7. Actually I pride myself on being a complete charlatan and wasting my life producing sollutions for problems that don't exist. I chose to do this with Guzzis because there is such a huge, thriving market out there that my ability to retire to a private island with a bevy of Brazillian swimsuit models on the obscene proffits I make is guaranteed within weeks!

Coming soon to compliment the plates will be my bat-winged orgone accumulator, a thrunge grommet stabilizer and a new tank-pad elliminator that looks exactly like a tank pad! All of these under designed and poorly researched products will be available for obscene amounts of money and I'll try really, really hard not to deliver them :P:lol: .

    Pete

Dang, I have the plate, and I guess it works (oil light only on when I turn the key on :D ).

Now I have to buy all the new Roper-bling... Actually I need a thrunge grommet stabilizer badly...

    When will it stop

  8. Welcome.

Don't worry so much. Just by the thing. You'll regret it if you don't.

Being from Denmark I can't tell if the price is fair. But here it would be considered a bargain :D

  9. Thanks Steffen. The low straight bars they have are for 41.7 and 50mm forks. I'm not sure if I understood the text??? I guess as Joe said above, they should be 43 mm.

this should be the set, you're looking for:

    241-2001 DÄS Lenkerstummel-Kit, D 54,0 mm, Höhe 45 mm, inkl. Adaptersatz für orig. Lenkergewichte, für V11 Le Mans (alle Mod.), V11 Coppa Italia / Scura / Naked`02 € 410.50

    Go to:

    http://www.daes-mototec.de/ >produkte > lenker/lenkerstummel > kits für moto guzzi.

The two first pictures is a v11 lemans with the clipons above and below the triple clamp (if that's what it's called).

  10. Thanks Joe. Well, Ducati Superbikes are 43 mm forks. May be that's an option???

I'll have to try and remove the spacers and see how they look. I was thinking of Rizoma light or something similar....may be LED type lights???

    Bruce:

Thanks for the link. I think that post is from July 2005. I'm hoping there would be an option domestically in the US.

I found a thread that someone posted his web page for the mods he did to his V11, dealing with Moto International in Seattle, hmmmm! May be I need to talk to them again, and remind them???

    Or go international with these:

  12. Hi Steffen,

I'm looking for a set of Tekno Bags myself, but I'm not getting any return emails from my inquiries. Any ideas? Do you have any links or email addresses?

    Thanks

    John

They haven't got them at tlm??

Well, they apparently got them here:

    http://www.bags-bike.com/linee.htm

    It's the Blir-line.

But when I was looking for a new set of bags, I sent them an e-mail. They never replied, and I turned to TLM :huh2:

Maybe Agostini in Mandello can help:

    http://www.guzzitalia.com/

    Good luck.

    /Steffen

  13. I got a set this summer from sitesponsor tml. Click banner above...

    Price: 200 euros + shipping.

    Fast and easy service.

I just dropped them a mail and asked for the bags.

  14. My new and very heavy handlebars came today. Thanks, Greg.

Now comes the tricky part: How to install (I'm a hamfisted fool with absolutely no mechanical ability).

Do I simply unscrew the old ones, put the new bar ends where the handlebar ends and tighten up untill I believe it wont fall off?

    Please help.

    /Steffen

  15. Steffen,

I certainly think they will help. You will now feel vibrations on other places of your bike: your footsteps! Of course these vibrations were always there, but you didn't mention until your bar ends are installed...

But I think that's not a problem at all, becauase you have to feel that you're riding a Guzzi

    Huub

I have vibrations in the pegs??

I also like to feel I'm riding a guzzi, and I didn't consider the vibration in the handlebars to be that much of a problem. But my friends all mentioned it as the first thing, when they tried my v11. And when I read about the heavier bar ends at a reasonable price, I thought I'd give it a try.

Don't think I'll miss the vibrations, if the bar ends help...

    Steffen

  16. I ordered the pair of heavier bar ends at Moto International (where our forum member Greg works) and I got them today.

And they sure are heavy! My neighbour collected the package for me, because I wasn't home when the postman came by. And he was very curious: which part of your motorcycle is so small and also that heavy?

I installed them immediately and went for a testride. And they work fine! Much less vibrations! I'm a happy man  , thx Greg!

    Huub

I'm still waiting for my set (ordered because of inspiration from this thread). I hope they will have the same effect on my bike.
