  1. All sorted. So thanks for all your help!!! A decent tuneup was needed. Way beyond my capabilities. Runs like a dream!! Had new angle gt 2 tires done at the same time as the old ones were full of puncture slime.I get putting that crap in to get you home but that’s about it. I’d never sell a motorcycle on knowing that stuff was in the wheels! Still, sorted now.
  2. I have spoken with a a Guzzi guru who is a very experienced chap with Guzzi. (Mike de Clifford) Like you all said it needs a decent tune up! He knew straight away as did you guys! well beyond my knowledge!! So I’m taking it to him this weekend! Pete I had my Griso for 16 years. never really had an issue with it, except for lack of grease where it was required the most! The only other thing that I could probably say was condensation in the clocks.
  3. Or are they designated to each cylinder?
  4. Was just wondering. If I swap the ht leads over would the misfire happen on the other cylinder? Proving that one of the coils is at fault?
  5. It’s a 2003. I’ve just checked the spark plug caps and have 5k ohms. It makes sense (to me) to do the basics rather than diving down the rabbit hole!
  6. Hi Pete. The issues I’m having is with my V11 Le Mans.
  7. I hope I didn’t offend anyone with what I read about guzzidiag and posted!!!!That certainly was not the intention.
  8. Ok. I think I’ve found the issue. I started the bike and noticed that when I put my hand over the exhaust the LHD (as sitting on it) was smooth the RHD was puffing and certainly cooler. So I’m pretty sure it’s a misfire. So I’m going to whip the tank off replace both ht leads, caps. Which leads me to the ignition coils. I reckon that the RHD is failing so I might as well replace it. New ones are £180 each . 2nd hand £45 per coil. On EBay I can buy 2 for £75. I get that they are cheap Chinese. Anyone got any experience of them? thanks for all help and advice.
  9. I did the the valve clearance slightly looser than factory on what I’ve read here. I did look into Guzzidiag. There was a post from Guzzitech. Who quoted not to use it.

  11. Ok. I feel it’s a bit intimidating posting my questions ,as everyone has a wealth of knowledge and experience and I don’t! So please bear with me! Should of said that I bought new mistral exhausts and done away with the crossover. I checked the compression on both sides and they are pretty much identical, about 150 psi. I have one new spark plug that is white and the other is brown, which is what looks good. So does this mean I have a fuel issue? I’m not going to use guzzidiag as that’s out of my league. I’m considering taking it to get an ecu diagnosis.
  12. Apologies. Lougi moto is in the UK. also not far from me is Max de Clifford who is a Guzzi guru Not far away from me.
  13. Hi there. Yes I was thinking about replacing the spark plug caps and the HT leads as they are over 20yrs old. I’m going to check compression in the week, but she’s only got 11000 miles (I know Guzzis don’t like to be standing)so I don’t think that pistons or rings should be an issue! I’m thinking as has been mentioned that it’s fueling. So I’m lucky to live close to Lougi Moto. Rich is a Ducati legend, but knows his way around Guzzis. So I’m thinking power commander,or remap. Both pretty much in the same price range. From what I understand the remap will deal with everything that ecu controls. Yet a P/C will only deal with the fuel delivery. When I rode for about 20mins today and parked up to put in garage she purred like a kitten at 1000rpm! I’m starting to get out of depth with it. I’m no expert. Still any suggestions would be appreciated 👍🏻
  14. The valve clearances are fine.I also added moreys injection cleaner. I’ve only added this once. Again any advice is appreciated before I have to go down the dealer route!👍🏻
  15. Unfortunately I’ve now developed an idling problem. I’ve changed air pressure sensor, new air filter, oil temperature sensor, lambda sensor, waiting for oil pressure sensor. I have to leave the fast idle open slightly to get the bike idling at 1100rpm. The v11 Le Mans 03 runs fine no lack of power maybe a slight splutter at 3000rpm. I have looked through all the posts on idling issues. What I have noticed is the right hand side spark plug is black and oily where as the left (as you sit on the bike) looks fine. So after reading through previous posts would it be worth taking the TPS out and replacing? I’m in unknown territory when fuel injection is involved! Seems like a dark art to me 🤔 I will check the manifold covers are properly sealed in the morning as I saw from a previous post!! For any advice!
