Looks like you may have missed this: Thanks to everybody on this thread who offered thoughtful troubleshooting suggestions. I really appreciate all of the time and effort many of you have put in trying to help me out.

The problems have been fixed! -I replaced the oil pressure switch. -I did a diode test on the regulator - which interestingly had not been suggested in this thread - and the test results indicated that one of the diodes was blown, or was otherwise not working. Discussed the test with Electrosport, and they asked me to send in the unit for further testing. -Rather than wait for the Electrosport people, I bought a new Ducati Energia (OEM) regulator from MG Cycle and installed it yesterday. -Fired up the bike a few hours ago. Oil and battery lamp come on with key on. At idle the battery terminal test at 14vdc +/-, and increase when revved. Went for a 100 mile ride: South St. Vrain Cyn - Peak to Peak Highway - Coal Creek Cyn - Home. Had a blast! Foliage, not much traffic, no battery light at 3-4000rpm, and the bike just roared along. Thanks to everybody on this thread who offered thoughtful troubleshooting suggestions. I really appreciate all of the time and effort many of you have put in trying to help me out. Cheers, Sam

Yes indeed thank you, and also to @audiomick. Life has gotten in the way of my troubleshooting, and I expect to get back to the task early next week, and I will report back then. I did order a new oil pressure switch from MG Cycle, which should arrive early next week as well.

No it does not light up KOEO.
-
Yes I did.

-Jumper wire to black wire to regulator: Battery light gradually came on at 3K rpm, and got brighter towards 4K. -Jumper to white wire to reg at idle and revved got no battery light.

Ohms were, at various DMM settings. (I am stupid, ignorant, uneducated about which is the appropriate or meaningful setting): 70 @ 200 7 @ 2000 0 @ 20K

My memory is unfortunately foggy one the chain of events, but I will try to reconstruct them here. After the first Odyssey showed signs of bubbling and bloating - with no alert from the charging lamp - I assumed to regulator was bad, and that the reg was overcharging the battery, hence the bloating. So I replaced the reg, along with my current "new" Odyssey battery. Next, I took the bike for a ride and the battery light lit up again, so I suspected the stator - sending too many AC volts to the regulator - which I then replaced. Installed the new stator, rode for 100 miles and the charging light never lit up. Like an idiot, I thought all my problems were solved, lol. The next ride, the lamp started to activate at 3-4K rpm, which is where we are now. (This was the title of this post, remember? Is the stator defective?' My memory is foggy on this, but I never recall the battery light OR the oil light EVER activating with key on, engine off.

Good news. Just got an email from batterystuff.com with a UPS tracking # and the charger is scheduled for delivery this Friday. Not to derail my own thread on my charging issue, but it sounds like going forward I should stop using the Battery Tender and use your protocol quoted here, amirite?

Just went out to the garage - the DMM reads 13.12v with the Battery Tender attached. Close but no cigar?

Did not start it up. I will do this tomorrow morning and report back. Need to get some better terminal connections for the jumper wire if I am going to fire up the motor.
