Just a quick reply to po18guy…Checked SSB Battery which has CCA 290. And thanks for the tip that the battery should lie flat/terminals to the rear. Upright the seat pan is slightly crushing the wiring. Other welcome answers above I will take a squiz tomorrow….

Once again, thanks to all….I think collectively you are getting to the nub of the issue. Apologies, my photos were compromised trying to wiggle an iPad (upsidedown…?) to take the shot and then deal with photo size! Re-sized some photos and took a few extras…. Headlight is right way up as best I can tell but please let me know…..the old rusty headlight was the same orientation. Underseat photo showing the “pack of poo tickets” especially the positive terminal. My thoughts the same as other members in that a previous owner had not only fitted a trickle charger but extra green/red wiring between battery and the 2 extra relays. And decided best place for extra relays was the headlight shell. I am assuming that this endeavour was an older solution to common electrical issues mentioned in earlier posts on this forum regarding improving the main lights and maybe starting? As before, I was not keen to start ripping in to the wiring early-on, assuming the bike had not previously fallen into bodgy hands…..and other owners treasured the bike like I will and ‘did their best to improve…’ But prepared to spend time and money (probably getting beyond my skills and pay local specialist Guzzi person) to rectify if you guys think it looks really bodged….cheers.

Well, low beam as a term for impotence….you learn something new everyday….ha/ha! On to the real problem….! “Power is lost within the Bosch headlight relay” is this electrical novice’s answer so far. The multimeter showed 13 volts on the green/grey wire on the way in to the relay but registers zero on the relay pin on the way out. Photo 1. Am I on the right track here? Recalling the issue was only the low beam is not working with ignition on, headlight switch position 2 (with low beam selected on the red push button). Strangely low beam comes on when handlebar headlight switch moved to position 2 on but the ignition is off! Photo 3. Reading/learning on this forum..V11 original relays are a big issue. Here is a photo of the under seat relays…Photo 2. I have not touched these as yet… original thought was that bike was previously owned by more capable people than myself and ‘do not alter anything’. Unless the bike develops a problem ie low beam etc…then work on it/improve. PS Sorry about the poor photos..all too big apart from these three…a younger family member will need to show me how to reduce and properly attach/send!

Many thanks for all these replies…I will go through them properly with my (new!) multimeter in hand over the coming weekend and respond accordingly… Of note, and as a (part) answer to GuzziMoto is that brake and tail lights are working perfectly (now). Had to replace the micro switch at the brake lever….one of the 3 pins was loose on the original micro switch causing an intermittent brake light.

This latest niggle has me perplexed…my Tenni’s original headlight was a bit rusty and reflector scratched. Pilot light and high beam fine but low beam was not lighting. Replaced bulb - no low beam. New headlight arrived - no low beam. Checking left handlebar switch block as possible culprit, the horn button, indicators, passing switch all working. Flicking the light switch, position 1 pilot light fine, position 2 high beam only. Could the problem be the red high/low beam button? And here I thought was the fun part…with no key inserted/ignition off, low beam works when the light switch is moved to position 2, but nothing else is ‘live’! Any ideas or hints? Thanks.

A new RAM low inertia clutch has arrived….looks correct for the Tenni when I refer to many other owner posts. But thanks to Lucky Phil, docc, gstallons and others who have been down this road. Now to fit….prefer experienced Guzzi mechanic and not spanner this one myself. Any suggestions ‘down under’?

Cheers docc! Thanks to all who have been there before….MG Cycle appears to have what is needed…and not Stein Dinse from previous commentary.

Many thanks Lucky Phil for this advice!….Aussie dollar has ‘collapsed’ compared to the U.S.$ lately so why SD prices don’t look too bad! Just to confirm for this V11 series novice, SD #200001620 and MG Cycle #1096620 RAM parts are the same kit? Better images with bike back together will eventually follow….regards, Tennitragic.

Hello fellow enthusiasts….closing in on 70 years so more a collector than a rider these days!…and moved to Guzzi from Laverda’s! Purchased a Tenni recently (photos to follow) Albeit bit of a Tech Luddite, will have to learn forum linking/sending photo’s etc. Currently recommissioning the bike for the roads ‘down under’. Continuing this thread as the Tenni’s previous owner said the flywheel/clutch are originals. Lurking and reading here made me aware of common faults including flywheel. And some owners adapting/fitting the RAM 5 speed clutch assembly because the crucial clutch hub is oem in Tenni/RM/Scura….all thanks to you guys…! Stein Dinse helped to date with Guzzi parts but are now dissuading me from purchasing “Moto Guzzi Single disc clutch RAM - big models No. 200001620”. Checked with MG Cycle about Part Number MG1096620 but they said they are “unaware this 5 speed will work with a 6 speed”. Should I go back to them or am I missing something? Thanks for any help here as I realise this is a very tired old topic!
