Does anybody have a PC map for 2000 V11 w/staintunes, stock airbox, Stucci X-over.
I will eventually have a custom map done, just wondering if some has done this setup before, and willing to share their PC map?
Thanks
Don`t need one. It`ll be fine just the way it is. Save your money.

Well, I got a call today from Haulbikes that the bike will arrive on my doorstep Friday afternoon. The timing couldn't be better....our winter "rains" have passed and the weather is calling for low 80's and sunny for the weekend. Plus, well.........it's the weekend!
Low 80's ?.....low 80's????.......I hate you!!!

The Convertibars are the "bomb" , best of both worlds.

I have a cheap set of throw-overs I use if I`m riding double. Riding single I just use a tote baq on the seat behind me and with those handy sealable plastic storage bags I no longer bother with rain covers.
I also use a Nelson-Rigg tank bag....love it.

2 options for clip-ons are for sale in the classifieds at a pretty good price . Top clamp drilled with risers and spacers to clear the top of the fork tubes, also a set of infinetly adjustable Convertibars. Both provide a more comfortable seating position and the Convertibars allow the option of quick return to race mode all with the use of stock cables and lines. I completed a 2000 mi. road trip in relative comfort last summer and I know my old back could not have done it with the stock set-up.

I found the MPH risers too Lego-like for my tastes not to mention pricey for what you get.. The Convertibars are a nicer set-up IMHO and afford a greater range of adjustibility whike allowing you to retain the lemans fairing if you have one.

Have recently purchesed a 2005 Le Mans, love it to bits. Have read about modifying stock cans to produce a little more volume, but these threads seem to be a few years old.
Has anybody done this modification? if so how? does it affect the performance at all?
Thanks in advance for any help.
I removed the end caps and cut the inner snorkel off and drilled three 1/2 " holes in the end plate surrounding the snorkel as per a previous post. Reattached the end cap using blue loctite on the screws (highly recommended) and ended up with little more rumble and it "feels" a bit more responsive. Spark plugs look good but idle speed dropped a 100 rpm which I readjusted with the left side throttle body idle screw. Planning on changing the crossover in the future but for now I`m quite happy with the results. How loud your mufflers are is a personal choice. I had FBFs and found them too loud.
Good luck.

Thanks for the tips and information ,I guess I`ll take the cover off.

[Does anyone have a number for that seal? Mine started to leak and I would like to have the seal there when I take the original out to save time or at least the dimensions.
thank you.

Hi'ya out there in Thunderbay!
l'm getting to the point of a rear tire change myself, (second season on a Metzler and its about toast) so how did the tire change effect the handling? l tend to be a cruise to work a few times a week and then once a month l think l'm Ago and go on a real tear type of rider.....would you still recomend the smaller tire ?
because the Tenni is the newest and best handling bike l've ever owned l think it handles great......maybe ignorance is bliss
Cheers
van
Hi Van
Yes I would. I bought a Dunlop because the price was right and not out of any kind of brand loyalty. I was quite happy with the Bridgestone Battleax 020 and would buy again.
I find the bike steers quicker and is more stable in the sweepers. Perhaps as the fatter tire squared off it became less stable, I don`t know. My steering stabilizer is on 1 click
Yes, it is a great handling bike and for the level of riding I do the smaller tire makes it better IMO. Have a great summer.

This is probably the easiest way to make your Tenni look, handle, feel, and sound like a Moto GP bike.................
ride one of these for awhile,
then jump on your Tenni and l PROMISE that your Tenni will feel ultra light, super responsive, really fast, and have awe inspiring brakes....
Cheers
Van
Came time to change the rear tire and I switched to a Dunlop 220 170/60/17 . Changing over to a narrower and taller tire improved the handling dramatically, I always thought the 180/55 was just to conform to the fat rear end look and IMO the 170/60 looks much better.
Handle like a GP bike ? I don`t know , but I do know it handles a hell of a lot better for the riding I do.

You don`t have to settle for clip-ons with the LeMans fairing. Convertibars provide a more upright position and allows you to retain the fairing. I took the fairing off mine and tried an Emgo Viper which looked nice but was useless. Went from that to an old Shoei FM-2 which works nicely but after seeing a LeMans with the convertibars and comparing riding position that`s the route I`m taking and I`ll be putting the fairing back on. Nice air pocket, good rain protection and can`t beat it for looks (in my opinion). Good luck with whatever you choose. Your gonna love it.

My eyesight's getting bad. Did you say that Tenni Guys prefer a lite grope, thank you?

Today another fine news on the radio: Somewhere Canada a supermarket does have some disinfected shopping ……..
This to beware the health of the customers.
I don’t know how true this news is and how often this happen in Canada.
Only done when the winos return their old carts for new ones

Ummm

Hi, thought I'd introduce myself, I am Carl from Neston on the Wirral in the U.K. I have just bought a Tenni which is No. 169. I will Post pictures over the weekend. Looking forward to getting to know you all and learning about my bike.
Carl.
Hi Carl,
Welcome to the Moto Guzzi elite. You are now among the most privileged of the Moto Guzzi family.
Do not be led astray by those who claim that they are the way for they no not what they speak of (read Scura) .
You have been blessed and as so you will lead the lesser ones. Tenni ownership comes with great
benefits but also great responsibilities ....kinda like Spiderman. I have more knowledge to pass on to
you but I cannot at this time because I`m running out of Scotch. Enjoy your new ride.
Ciao,

for those that have replaced the stock clip-ons on your v11 le-mans/sport, how was/is the vibration of your new bars? I've got a pair of the aluminum Verliche clip-ons and the new triple tree riser bar combo from RossoPuro also looks very appealing , but both are aluminum and therefore should NOT have wieghted bar ends. The other thing I was thinking about doing is just switching the stock clipons, left to the right side adn right to the left side so that the bar would be closer and I could keep the weighted bar ends which dampen the vibrations very well.
As I recall, switching the clip-ons side to side won`t work as the bars will strike the tank. I replaced mine with risers and superbike type bars which made it necessary to remove the fairing and I found the result pretty comfortable. This required rerouting the clutch line and throttle cable but no extended lines were needed. At first there was a lot of vibration, but after filling the bars with musket balls (.578"), installing bar ends and foam grips, it has pretty much dampened the vibes to an acceptable level. The seat still sucks though but otherwise it`s not a bad tourer. Just came back from a 3200k trip,no complaints.

I have notice some pinging or knocking lately. I thought it was using garbage fuel--but I always use 93 octance (of course with 10% ethanol)--Any thoughts? The bike seems to be running and starting okay. I have noticed that is smells like it is running rich after a while--and the gas mileage doesn't seem to be so great (or it could be some heavy throttle). I hope it is not the ECU.
Skip the ethanol fuel and life will be good, even with regular.

I hope it works out.
I have a BMW R90S fairing on my Sport. At first, I was looking for better wind protection also, so I ordered a 4" taller screen from Gustaffson, installed it, drove around for 30 minutes and promptly took it off. It was much worse than the stock height. Moral of the story- bigger isn't always better...or....anyone wanna buy a 4" taller screen that fits an S fairing?
Yeah........I might be interested.
I have an Emgo viper fairing which may be a copy of your R90S model and I`m looking for a taller screen. Pm me with some dimensions, number of holes, etc, pics if possible and also what you`d like to get for it and maybe we can swing a deal.
Thanks

I bought a V11 on the 1st of the month and it has carbon fibre mufflers on it. The bike is virtually stock and it can't be confirmed from the previous owner since he was the 2nd owner if the bike came that way from the factory. If it did come like that stock are they just regular mufflers with a CF wrap on them or are they performance mufflers?? The bike sounds really sweet as is. This is my 3d guzzi. My 2k Jackal with Mistral pipes didn't sound this good. Anyway, just wondering if anyone knew for sure. Thanks Gini
My Tenni came stock with factory carbon fibre mufflers. I don`t know if all Tennis' did.

Sorry, it's a west coast/east coast thing.
Ciao, Steve G.

[ I'm planning a trip up to the Ontario Rally in two weeks and I will be coming home through Thunder Bay and Duluth MN. To do this in the time I have it is going to require multiple 500+ mile days. This would be nothing on my Concours but I have to approach this differently on the LeMans. Any ideas out these?
See you there.
I have a Corbin Gunfighter that I purchased last year and was not happy with it. Offered it for sale but no bites. I agree that Corbins customer service sucks.
So I took it to a local upholstery shop and am letting them have at it. Shaving it down so it will be closer to the original shape as I found the stock seat better (go figure). The slope was just too high and put me too far foreward. I just wanted to get off that seat after an hour so hopefully these changes will be an improvement. It`s all a matter of ergonomics, what`s good for one person may not be good for another.
Picking the seat up Monday. You`ll get to see it at Utopia as this will be the test ride.
Just as an aside , my buddy took his `01 Sport to the east coast and back (Thunder Bay) on a stock seat with no complaints. I wimped out , left the LeMans at home and took an `81 Gold Wing, seat wasn`t much better.
