  2. Oh yeah found some more parts................ 2 - sidecovers silver / grey with checkerboard and italian logo , right side has a hairline crack from mounting hole to inside edge. $50.00 for the pair plus shipping e-mail me for pics , address is in previous post thanks
  3. Don`t need one. It`ll be fine just the way it is. Save your money.
  4. Well, I got a call today from Haulbikes that the bike will arrive on my doorstep Friday afternoon. The timing couldn't be better....our winter "rains" have passed and the weather is calling for low 80's and sunny for the weekend. Plus, well.........it's the weekend! Low 80's ?.....low 80's????.......I hate you!!!
  5. The Convertibars are the "bomb" , best of both worlds.
  6. I have a cheap set of throw-overs I use if I`m riding double. Riding single I just use a tote baq on the seat behind me and with those handy sealable plastic storage bags I no longer bother with rain covers. I also use a Nelson-Rigg tank bag....love it.
  7. 2 options for clip-ons are for sale in the classifieds at a pretty good price . Top clamp drilled with risers and spacers to clear the top of the fork tubes, also a set of infinetly adjustable Convertibars. Both provide a more comfortable seating position and the Convertibars allow the option of quick return to race mode all with the use of stock cables and lines. I completed a 2000 mi. road trip in relative comfort last summer and I know my old back could not have done it with the stock set-up.
  8. I found the MPH risers too Lego-like for my tastes not to mention pricey for what you get.. The Convertibars are a nicer set-up IMHO and afford a greater range of adjustibility whike allowing you to retain the lemans fairing if you have one.
  9. I removed the end caps and cut the inner snorkel off and drilled three 1/2 " holes in the end plate surrounding the snorkel as per a previous post. Reattached the end cap using blue loctite on the screws (highly recommended) and ended up with little more rumble and it "feels" a bit more responsive. Spark plugs look good but idle speed dropped a 100 rpm which I readjusted with the left side throttle body idle screw. Planning on changing the crossover in the future but for now I`m quite happy with the results. How loud your mufflers are is a personal choice. I had FBFs and found them too loud. Good luck.
  10. Thanks for the tips and information ,I guess I`ll take the cover off.
  11. [Does anyone have a number for that seal? Mine started to leak and I would like to have the seal there when I take the original out to save time or at least the dimensions. thank you.
  12. Hi Van Yes I would. I bought a Dunlop because the price was right and not out of any kind of brand loyalty. I was quite happy with the Bridgestone Battleax 020 and would buy again. I find the bike steers quicker and is more stable in the sweepers. Perhaps as the fatter tire squared off it became less stable, I don`t know. My steering stabilizer is on 1 click Yes, it is a great handling bike and for the level of riding I do the smaller tire makes it better IMO. Have a great summer. Ciao
  13. Came time to change the rear tire and I switched to a Dunlop 220 170/60/17 . Changing over to a narrower and taller tire improved the handling dramatically, I always thought the 180/55 was just to conform to the fat rear end look and IMO the 170/60 looks much better. Handle like a GP bike ? I don`t know , but I do know it handles a hell of a lot better for the riding I do. Ciao bambini
  14. You don`t have to settle for clip-ons with the LeMans fairing. Convertibars provide a more upright position and allows you to retain the fairing. I took the fairing off mine and tried an Emgo Viper which looked nice but was useless. Went from that to an old Shoei FM-2 which works nicely but after seeing a LeMans with the convertibars and comparing riding position that`s the route I`m taking and I`ll be putting the fairing back on. Nice air pocket, good rain protection and can`t beat it for looks (in my opinion). Good luck with whatever you choose. Your gonna love it.
