  1. I got the diablo stradas with the last promotional deal from pirelli. I went with the 170 on the back. At first I was a little dissapointed. These tires turn in quicker than the bridgestones. Because they turn in quicker and because I went with the 170 on the back I thought they were too quick. Once I found the right tire pressure (32PSI front/36 PSI back) I am fairly happy with my choice. However, I do wonder what the strada 180 would feel like. If I were you I would take advantage of the current pirelli 2 fer 1 deal and replace both at this time. I too, cheaped out and ended up going through a few sets of the bt020s because I don't like mismatching tires. The back always wore out first but the front is never far behind.
  2. I use the throttlemeister cruise control/bar end weights. You have to fidget with it at times to maintain your speed but it gives you the relief you need. It never locks the throttle so tight that you can't back it off in an emergency situation.
  3. I wish they offered this tire in a 170. I went to a 170 pirelli corsa strada on my 04 LeMans with the last "buy one get one free" offer and really like it over the 180.
  4. Thanks for the kind words Greg. When I talked to Dave a few months ago he was willing to give me about $6000 in trade for a new EV. I am trying to find a fair straight across trade. I recently fell in love with a California Aluminum with the Guzzi leather bags. Sometimes I think I'm crazy to get rid of the LeMans. Last few times out I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
  5. How much did you pay for the last kit? Early last summer you couldn't find that kit anywhere. I stumbled on one and paid $1250.
  6. Personally I would avoid the 2002 because of the flat black crinkle engine paint. I agree the red/grey 02 paint scheme is really attractive. Get an 03 or 04. When I was shopping and deciding on mine I definitely concluded that the 04 was the best. There is a very nice 04 Lemans with the soft bags in Southern California for $8500.00. I saw it on cycletrader online. Also, take a look at my 04 red/black Lemans in the classified section. I have come down $500.00 but haven't been able to edit my ad for some technical reason. I am in Salem, Or. and would be willing to help with delivery. My bike is reasonably priced and is in very nice condition. Take a look. I have more pictures if you want me to email them to you. Good luck! 2004 LeMans for sale
  7. Yes to what Rachethack said. Make sure you get the version with cruise control. They are bravmisio!
  8. Anyone want to part with a stucci crossover that will fit my 04 LeMans?
  9. 2004 red/black LeMans: Wonderful bike, immaculate condition, 17,500 miles, has always ran perfect. Purchased in October 2004. 3 months warrantee left. All service work performed on schedule by me or my dealer. I have always used full synthetic oils and it has never used oil. Always kept in warm, dry garage. It just keeps getting better with miles. The motor started running more free at 5000 miles and better yet at 10,000 miles, now with 17,000 it's really sweet. Just keeps getting better.....I love these motors! I have labored to keep this bike perfect in every way. Extras: MG Titanium Race Exhaust kit, Throttle Meister Heavy bar end weights (with cruise control), New set of Pirelli Diablo Strada tires, Moto Guzzi tank bag, MG shop manual. My reasons for selling are simple. I can't afford two. I love guzzis and will get another one for sure but I need a little more comfort for the long haul (camping too) and I want to do some two up riding, something I don't mind getting a little dirty. I am fanatical about the LeMans. I never let it get dirty. If I get caught in a rain storm I don't rest well until it is clean again. I get the bugs off after every little jaunt. Will consider trades for a 1998-2001 black/gray EV or 2003-2004 black/chrome EV. Must be in excellent condition. $7500.00 without the titanium exhaust kit. $8500.00 with the titanium exhaust kit All reasonable offers considered. Rod 503-508-1948 email: 1radman5@comcast.net
  10. I remove the fairing to adjust the valves. Rocketman
  11. Have you looked at my LeMans? http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7706 Rocketman
  12. Thanks Greg. How long will it take to get em? Rocketman
  13. Great idea. That makes you Baldini the Great. I never thought of it. Do you think this could be done without removing it? Is the stock tripple tree cast aluminum? Rocketman
  14. MG Cycle has them for $325.00. I found them in the fenders and mudguards section at the very bottom of the page. http://www.mgcycle.com/bodyparts.html Rocketman
  15. Greg, MG Cycle sells it for $138.95. How much can you get it for? Rocketman
  16. Has anyone tried the CF Alt cover? How is it holding up? Seems like it would take a beating and end up looking crappy. I just installed a CF instrument plate and I am digging the look. I want to replace my alt cover too. The alloy cover may be the better choice in the long haul. I also want to add some more spice to the cockpit. I'm not wild about the black top tripple tree. I love the top tripple tree on the Daytona. Who makes an alloy replacement that fits the stock clip ons (04 LeMans)? Rossapura's webpage shows this one on the web shop page but it doesn't show up when you go in further to look at the details of each item. Rocketman
  17. I removed my canister but never plugged the brass nipples. I left the tubing in place. How is this bad? Would it cause lean fuel mixture? Rocketman
  18. I took advantage of the recent free pirelli front tire offer. I Finally mounted them and I want to share my impressions. This is my third set of tires and the first time I have strayed from the OEM BT020 Bridgstones. I also bought an ATV/Motorcycle jack at cyclegear for $89.00 bucks and built a pork chop bracket and bolted it to a piece of plywood. Now I can jack it up and take the wheels off myself. Got this idea from a friend who rides a Scura. I went with a 170 rear tire instead of the 180. Got this idea from others on the forum. Thanks Rachethack. After playing around with tire pressures and scrubing them in I must say they are a big improvement over the Bridgstones. They turn in nicely and hold the line effortlessly. The front and the back seem to be working together. Steering is more nuetral. It's easier to correct the line when leaned over. With the 180 Bridgestone, it seemed like the rear lagged behind and it made the bike feel a little heavy. The Pirelli's are a little quicker turning but not twitchy. My first ride out I had too much pressure in them and they felt goofy. My first thought was that I just made another costly mistake. I have learned what the rest of you guys may already know; more pressure equals faster turn in; less pressure slows em down. So far I have settled for 33 in the front and 38 in the back. They ride nicer than the Bridgestones. The Bridgestones were harsh. The Perilli's warm up quick and feel planted. Way more confidence inspiring. I have only riden them on dry warm pavement (it's about time) so I can't say anything about what they are like in the rain. Anyway, I am having a ball. They just feel great. Give the 170 rear a try if you are looking for a change. Rocketman
  19. 2004 Moto Guzzi LeMans Color: Rossa Red and Black Miles: 16,700 Wonderful bike, in excellent condition, has always ran perfect. Purchased in October 2004. 6 months factory warrantee left. All service work performed on schedule by me or my dealer. I have labored to keep this bike perfect in every way. MG Tank bag, Moto Guzzi Titanium Race Exhaust kit, Throttle Meister Heavy bar end weights (with mechanical cruise control), and a new set of Pirelli Diablo Strada tires. My reason for selling is I want a little more comfort and to ride two up (getting older now). If I could afford it I would keep this bike and get a touring/cruiser too. Will consider trades for 1998-2001 black/gray EV or 2003-2004 black/chrome EV. Must be in excellent condition. Keep in mind I don’t want anything with the flat black wrinkle engine paint. Thanks for looking. $8000.00 $9000.00 with the titanium exhaust kit. All reasonable offers considered Rocketman (this forum) Email: 1radman5@comcast.net Rod Radke Salem, OR. Cell phone: 503-508-1948
  20. Guzzirider, That's a significant gain. I have an 04 lemans and the only mod I have done is put on MG Titanium pipes and race ecu. I had the fuel injection retuned because of pinging, and it is better, but it still pings around 5000 rpm when twisting on the throttle. I am getting 35 - 40 MPG pretty consistantly. This isn't bad but I would like better MPG. Based on your numbers I may be able to get another 2, 3, 4 MPG. But I have to spend about $800.00 for the goodies. Rocketman
  21. Guzzirider, what was your MPG before the mod? What are you getting now? Rocketman
  22. I have an 04 LeMans and discovered that the trip meter knob is held in place via a tiny phillips head screw (lefty loosy, righty tighty). If you look closely you can see it with flashlight. Rocketman
  23. I wouldn't mind a set if the price comes down to about $40.00. I am tired of my front crossover flopping about. Rocketman
  24. Go to Moto International They have better deals than that. I have seen Coppa Italias and Cafe Sports selling for $10,000 (and these models have the ohlins suspension). I paid $10,300 for my 04 Lemans in October of 04. Shop around my friend there are great deals on new guzzis right now. Rocketman
