  1. OK ratchet, now I'm getting confused! :homer:

According to the Wall Street report Paul Gigot states.

"If Congress should for some reason lose its cool and give in to the MoveOn.org crowd pushing for greater Internet regulation, it will likely come just in time for its backers, once again, to be proven wrong about the absence of competition in telecom.

I am under the impression that Move ON is advocating net nutrality, how would this be interpeted as "giving in". Seems to me that all they are trying to do is prevent telecommunication companys from charging extra for prefered linking on searches.

Say what you want about move on . org but I think they are "right on" on this one.

  2. Just watched the race again on Speed tv.

It was a vary exciting race at (for me anyway) an exciting track.

Just give them (Mazda) a couple more years and the track issues will go away. Sure would like a ride on the back of that Ducati. :P

Pedrosa is hot and is someone who could really give Hayden a run for his money.

Sure did miss the usual Dornan announcers as Speed didn't even update the points standings after the race. I had to go online to find out. WTF.

  3. They do it because they don't know there is a difference. They live in "Hollywood fantasy land"

What ticks me off is the missuse of gun sounds. A guy jacks a shell in a pump shotgun then they show him jacking in another 2 seconds later! :o What the @#!#$# is that?

Or how about the guy who just shot a round with a semi auto pistol, then to enhance the scene the director or who ever, has the guy cock the gun to convince the next victum he is next. :homer:

Oh and let's not forget the endless magazine capacity of machine guns and that a sofa will stop a full auto 9MM burst!!! :moon:

  4. I havn't seen this posted here so here goes.

The U.S. Senate is going to vote on a bill to decide if the internet should remain free or should communications companys be allowed to charge fees to allow certain links to connect faster than others that do not pay up. This is called "Net Nutrality" :bier:

This bill would only allow these companies to make more profit and serve no one but them. :bbblll:

These are bills that sort of slide through and then can not be taken back.

This is NOT about being a Conservative or a Liberal. Not :not: a conspiracy just lobbying at its best with us paying the way. If it goes through here it will naturally become global as well.

If you reside in the U.S. do the usual, call your senators (really). I have, as one of my senators in head of the communication commity and the other has indicated that he opposed "net nutrality".

Non U.S. members should be aware that this is on the way, if not already.

  5. Great timing as I have just replaced pads all around and have a couple of questions.

    1. I have Brembo brakes, bought Ferodo? pads. Inside the package for the rears I found a couple of small "buttons" that look like little top hats with a thick brim. Don't see where they could go as I didn't find any when I cleaned the caliper and reinstalled the pads. everything went smoothly.

Are these for another application or did I miss something?

    2. Any truth to "setting in" new brake pads? Should I go blindly down the road at blistering speeds and worry about it later?

    Enquiring minds want to know.

  6. I agree completely.

Laverda production, (should it start again) should be unique engine designs not shared with other Piagio lines. It should be relatively easy to design a triple as there are several out there ie: Triumph and Binelli, choose the features and layout that would work in a Piagio designed engine.

I have to admit that I would kill for my own Lynx prototype even with the Susuki 650 engine!

    That bike looks soooooo hot!

By the way Norton is DEAD. The guy who was resurecting to brand has no more money to start up full mfg. operations and all the marketing, dealer support, etc to go any further. Has returned all deposits. Too bad as it seemed to be fairly faithful to the origional.

  7. I still think Rossi bagged Laguna last year. Maybe because he and others don't think it is safe enough, he dosn't have much track time there either.

And remember, he was well up on points up till then. So maybe..... he bags one and hopes that Collin can beat Nicky. At one point he got back to business and rushed the leaders only to fall back again. Not the Rossi we know and love to watch again and again.

    Come on COLIN :race:

  8. Absolutely AMAZING race. It was like everybody was racing their last race of their life.

Rossi is... well... Rossi ! But the racing is much closer now given Yamaha's handling problems with the 06 frame. Stoner is hot and Nickey is getting better.

Ducati has their shit together this year thats for sure.

Being from the US I wish Edwards could find his stride given that he finally got with a great team.

    I'll be watching every race!!!

  9. I was worried when I saw the links.

I did click on the v11 lemans link and it brought me here but I did not want to use the other link.

    Thanks gthyni.

    Those Rat Bastards!!! :luigi:

  10. I agree with most of the above. Nice show.

You can see their philosophy "torque not speed" (keep that in mind when new models come out)

It was also nice to see the actual tech's who put these things together, trouble was I couldn't figure out which one forgot to put the grease in the bearings  or who it was who got the axle spacers all mixed up. :homer:

Did anybody see any cans or crinkle paint of clutch plates laying around. :D
