  2. Help! I installed 4 LCD turn signals on my 2000 V11 Sport, they will work with two installed on rear and orig. signals on front, but if I try to replace front signal(s), they will not flash. I suspect I require a resistor to make them work, anyone have any experience with this ?
  3. And a wonderful and safe riding year for all from Canada!
  4. Daytona Bikerwear Co. For those who are interested, here is the site for the cloths in question from eBay. Slug, could have been a lot worse, bikes are replaceable! Glad to hear your body armor worked as designed! Every bikers fear, the one you don't see coming :!:
  5. Just be aware these are Chinese knockoffs, if you are comfortable with that
  6. May be all wet here, but simple thing to check 1st. You say under hard deceleration? I would check your side stand interlock switch to be sure is isn't the culprit if it only happens on occasion and under hard braking. Have heard of instances where this has caused a similar condition. Try bypassing the switch and see if it still happens.
  7. Thanks for your thoughts, I really enjoy the "must be on your toes" feel of the Ducati, it thrills you while scaring the begeesers out of you at the same time . I must agree I always feel in control on the V11, it does not demand you be on your game every time you release the clutch. My son will shoot me for taking the Duc out of the stable, but on Tuesday I will work on getting the trade done
  8. Thought I would introduce myself, as I have been an avid motorcyclist for forty years, starting with early Norton's through the gambit of bikes (either sports or touring, never owned a cruiser). I retired three years ago @ 51 and have never looked back I currently have a 03' EV California (that I just rode from the Atlantic to the Pacific return through Canada), and a 94' Ducati 900SS. I am seriously thinking of trading the Duc in on a 2000 V11 Sport I found at my local dealer. I truely loved the Guzzi ride across the country and this V11 Sport has been worked over (it was my Guzzi mechanics ride. It is tricked out with high compression pistons, over sized valves and custom exhaust and produces 100+HP. Would really appreciate some insight from you long time V11 Sports owners on the change from the Duc (another great mountain ride) and the V11 Sport My handle is Reboot as I was in the computer field for many years and that kinda was usually the 1st thing I ever said to anyone I met Regards to all, Bill PS. Great site!!!
  9. Hi guys,Glad to hear you had the repair covered (this is Bill the other Duc rider on the Duffy Lake run ). I just returned from retreiving my 03' EV California from Rigaud Quebec after a clutch failure on the return leg of my 24,000k ride from the Pacific to the Atlantic. Took a bit longer than expected but all in all was a great ride. I celebrated by 55th and 40 years of safe riding where I should be, on the road! Look forward to another run with you guys, still waitin for the photos from the last one though
  10. I just want to pass on my gratitude to Valley Yamaha who spent countless hours on the phone with Moto Guzzi USA when my 03' EV California suffered a catastrophic clutch failure 18,000k into my trans-Canada ride last year. Gord fought the good fight and had the clutch repair fully covered my warranty (even though the bike was past its warranty period). I have just returned from Rigaud Quebec where I was forced to leave the bike last year. The bike is running well, but I will be dropping into Valley Yamaha on Wednesday for new rear rubber and a once over by the other Gord (#1 mechanic ). If you ever have the misfortune of breaking down in our neighbourhood, I have no doubt you would do well to drop in and see the two Gord's at Valley!
