  1. Thanks for all of the replys. However the main question of WHAT PLACSTIC MATERIAL THE TANK IS MADE FROM IS NOT KNOWN. Like I stated I have the material to coat the inside of the tank to provide the protection from the 10% ethanol fuel. I have also met with a local body shop/bike restorer and he can repair the exterior of the tank, he just needs the exact knowledge of the plastic material Moto Guzzi made the tanks from. I suspect they are a roto-molded plastic much like the kayak inductry. Thanks, Randy
  2. I have a minor problem with small spherical blisters appearing near the upper surface of the tank. I'm thinking these are the result of the 10% ethanol fuel blends in Florida. I've located material to coat the inside of the tank, but don't have a clue as to how to repair the outside surface. What plastic is the tank is made from? Any info on repair material would be greatly apprecited.
  3. The odometer on my speedometer will not register total miles. It stoped at 23,900 miles. Inspection found the odometer drive gears stripped. Need a speedometer for parts. This is a white faced unit, but others of close model years should be the same internally.
  4. I'm in the mood for new tires. The bike now has 9,000 mile and the Bridgestone tires must be replaced. The front tire has a lot of "cupping" and the rear has preformed very well but the tread is down to the wear bars. I see that Michelin tires are listed as a choice in the owners manual and would like some info on the performance of these tires. I use the bike exclusively on the roads of Florida with some out of state travel. I try to stay out of the rain, but it does happen on occasion. Any info on the Michelons would be appreciated. Randy 2002 V11 LeMans The Michelins listed in the owners manual are frt. 120/70ZR 17" C Michelin Pilot Sport and the rear is a 180/55ZR 17" L Michelin Pilot Sport. They are slightly higher priced than the Bridgestones, but not a big deal. Randy
  5. I just found a used air inlet system. No further action required. I need the stock air inlet cover P/N 37 11 48 06 and the two (2) intake pipes P/N 02 11 69 01. The system on my bike was modified by the previous owner and I'd like to retun it to the factory cofiguration. Randy in Florida
  6. [ SIZE=1] I appreciate the information, well done! I did take the lead off of the neutral switch and let it go to ground. The relay ativated and the nuetral light came on. Appears to be non working neutral switch.......I also just recieved a copy of the V11 shop manual to help me sort out problems. I will remove the switch tomorrow and see if it can be made to work. I also ordered a spare switch from Harpers MG but it is on back order, makes you wonder. Randy
  7. 2002 V 11 LeMans The bike runs and starts great, except for starting in neutral with the side stand down. The starter will not activate with the clutch in, stand down and in neutral. The neutral indicator light will not come on, most of the time. If it does the bike will start in neutral with the stand down. I now start the bike with the stand up and the clutch in. I also don't have to be in neutral. Any thoughts would greatly appreciated. rpeterson
