  1. It kills me to do so but, I'm selling a red and black 2003 MG LM. The bike is in very good condition, has never been down. Has 13.5k on it, I'm the 2nd owner and bought from the first owner with just over 3k. The bike has been serviced at Speeds Cycle since that time. It has:

    Mistral x-over

    FBF carbon pipes

    Custom map

    moto bits rear sets

    throttlemeister throttle lock

    MG OEM tank bag

    Odyssey gel battery

chase harper tail bag (connects to the saddlebags w/clips)

    chase harper saddlebags

I also have a Progressive racing suspension front and rear springs that will come with the bike.

Located in Ellicott City, Md. listing at rock bottom price of 4000k. e-mail mwfair@gmail for more pics.

  2. I think its all relative to how bad your knees are but I cannot recommend the motobits enough. The move the pegs down and forward an inch and are more adjustable than most. They install in an hour or two depending on shop knowledge and look great on the bike. Got mine from the shop in Seattle (moto international?) sorry but this martini is killing brain cells:) and yes I'm a light weight.

  4. I too recently purchased a MTS1000, a 2004 with 1400miles to be exact. Don't ask how I got it, but for the price I basically stole it :D To me the two bikes are so perfect and compliment each other. I love both bikes but would ditch the Duc if I could only have one. I like to think of the MTS as a lighter more upright V11 that has more long range touring capability based on comfort and luggage carrying capacity. Both bikes have "character" but to me the V11 just has that little bit of something extra.

  5. I'll play :D

I'm not a big beer drinker, never done a drug, although the day I retire I may smoke a joint just for kicks to see what its like/the appeal. My big vice is vodka martini's, cognac's, brandy's, and anejo and reposado tequila's. I can't always afford the $50 bottle stuff so I'm generally stuck buying the Christian Bros, E&J brandy or some other $20 1.75 liter bottle.

  6. Don't know about the RP's but I love my Motobits rearsets. They are awesome and super adjustable. I can't remember the forum member's name (damn this brandy is too good:) who hooked me up but contact Moto International out of Seattle, Wa. If you want pics just shoot me a pm and I'll snap some pic's of mine. They are beautiful, wonderfully machined, and go on without a problem, can't remember how much I paid, don't think it was very much compared to other options. One of the best upgrades I made, moves the pegs down and forward an inch each way I believe.

sorry don't know why the double post, damn brandy!!!

  8. almost??....only counts in horseshoes, hand grenade's, and nuclear weapons  Use the nuke and get rid of the "almost" I cherish the day I bought my LM, I'm going to be buried with that bike. :mg:

  9. Sorry, the look isn't working for me. I suspect I'd like them much more under the "hips" of a Sporti or Daytona RS, but they're just out of character on the smooth "beetle butt" of the V11s...

JMNSHO, of course! If it works for you, then more power to ya! Thanks for the tip & pics, so we can make up our own minds w/o having to test the waters ourselves! :luigi:

I thought they looked ok at first but thought something looked odd until I saw the rear view. The new age style does not flow, in my eyes, with the shape of the v11. I still think the Aprilia RSV signals are better, they require some stalk modification/sanding down if you want them to fit flush like stock, but I think they go with the lines a bit better.

  10. I pay less less than $1k a year for three bikes with progressive. I'm 31, married, and have had an MC endorsement since 2001 and been with Progressive since day 1. I've got a 2003 Guzzi LM with full coverage and a $500 deductible, a 2007 Suzi DR650 with full coverage and a $1k deductible, and just got a 2004 Duc MTS1000 with a $1k deductible.

  11. This whole thing sucks. I was at the local dealer on Friday and asked about the Stelvio, the guy just shook his head and said they probably aren't getting any more Guzzi's in because they are most likely dropping the line.

  12. I'm in Ellicott City, your welcome to come see the bike and might let you take it for a short ride. We need all the Guzzi riders we can get. My bike is not stock though, I have moto bits rear sets, convertibars, a Mistral x-over, FBF pipes, and a custom map, so the ergonomics may tell you how comfy the v11 can be with about $500. The stock setup hurt my back and knee's, with this new setup I've ridden all day without a problem.

  13. That is sweet, going to have to pick one upu when I win the lotto. 475 British pounds!!!!!!! And in today's market?? I know you get what you pay for when it comes to helmets but I don't know if the awesome paint job is going to protect my head any better than a non-painted helmet.

  14. looks a lot like the exact same model I bought, mine is red though and titled "crack head" with a cracked skull on the back. I like it better than the HJC it replaced, both in terms of ventilation, wind noise, and weight. And your right, these helmets are highly underated.

  15. You guys ever feel like its worth going broke to own a B-E-A-UTIFUL bike?? The Griso pic with the Belfast in the back ground does not help!!!!! I've loved the griso since I saw it and am still holding out for the Stelvio but damn that pic is makes the Griso look that much sexier. Nice pic :bier:

    P.S.

BelfastGuzzi, sorry but my wife may hunt you down!!! Beware, she's part Cherokee Indian!!!!

  16. Was at the local shop seeing if they had a Stelvio in yet. The answer is no, but while I was there I saw that they still have a 2007 Duc Multistrada 1100s for 10k otd (that's a steal.) Anyway, I was talking to the shops MG rep and he says they are having all sorts of problems with MG. A guy bought a 2007 Griso and can't get replacement parts on warranty work. This scares me especially since I love the Stelvio but don't want to buy a bike that can't get fixed. That Multi looks a lot more tempting now since I know Duc isn't having the problems MG is and getting warranty work/replacement parts would be a non-issue.

  17. Hey all, '04 V11 with pipes and K&N is getting 38 mpg.

    1) Adjusted valves, changed oil and filter.

    2) Setup TPS (did not use 150mv (with cables and levers slacked) as bike wouldn't run there)).

    3) Installed Dynojet.

    4) Custom map by John (much Guzzi experience) at Cliff's BMW in Connecticut. 38 mpg average.

    5) Leaned custom map first by 5%, then by another 5%. 37 mpg average.

Any suggestions? Should I try playing with the TPS again? Hotter plugs?

    Thanks,

    John

I wish I got 38mpg. I've got a full exhaust, K&N, and custom map and only get about 35mpg. I'm going to try removing the K&N in the spring and get it retuned to see if it makes a difference but even when it was stock I only got about 40-42mpg. Regardless, the my V11 LM will go to the grave with me.

  18. After buying my M/C doing a valve adj., inj sync., new tires and riding it for 600 miles...

    I GET IT

Guzzi's will never win a magazine shootout article

That isn't what guzzi's are about

    It's about LOVE

You ain't kidding brotha, I've had two problems, one due to my impatience/past experience with Japanese bikes. When I got my exhuast completely redone w/custom map, I fell in love w/this bike all over. That's why when I had starter problems I was willing to work it out patiently. Ended up that my initial diagnosis was correct but looking back at it, it was actually kind of fun; like playing with lego's or an erector set. I love the fact that the Guzzi is so easy to work on.

  19. SEE!!! This is the problem with a free market economy! J/K :D I'm keeping an eye on the stuff even though I don't need any of it just becasue its nice to have spares/options. A good idea may be to state what you want and you can link up with someone to combine bidding power and outbid a single bidder, though I guess it depnds on all how bad you want the stuff vs. how much you can/willing to pay.

  20. Just a note to others do a search in the future, if your bike starts then its generally not your starter. The starter works by sending an electric pulse to your solenoid which actuates a plunger/pushrod that extends a gear mechanism on the "actual" starter that has a rotating gear. The gear engages the a gear on the crankshaft (or I believe its connected to the crankshaft) and essentially starts up the motor. This is where the spark plugs and FI take over and the starter sits idle and the gear on the starter retracts, which is why you hear a grinding noise when you hit the starter button when the motor is already running.

So in the end, if you can consistently start your motor then it most likely is not your starter.
