  1. Kind of cucumber time here in Holland now. Very boring. I think this week will appare Alex The Sperminator here in my house. He have just called me, he is now in Berlin and will fly over to Amsterdam.

For the rest nothing to communicate

Do you guys have some decent news to share?

You could always celebrate America's Thanksgiving. Get a big turkey and your other favorite foods and have a big feast on November 22. Everyone celebrates St. Pattie's day whether their Irish or not, so why not Thanksgiving?

  2. was a pretty good race, too bad rossi couldn't finish. Pedrosa ended up 2nd overall and looking real strong for next season.

Anyone know anything about the Hopkins move to Kawasaki? Seems like its a lateral move if not a downgrade in terms of bike performance. Maybe a money move? Would have like to seen him go to a more competitive team like Honda or Yamaha if not Ducati.

  3. QP: Hopper on 3rd row, Vermeulen and Melandri on 4th row. All within 1/2 second of each other. Hope they mix it up and it gets some broadcast attention - though it promises to be a mid-pack scuffle.

I just saw the starting grid for tomorrow's race, Hopkins on row 2 has Melandri and Vemeulen right behind him in row 3. Them racing for 4,5, and 6 overall could be the highlights of tomorrow's race especially considering their so close in the starting grid. Could be a race long battle:) And Hopkins may be somewhat overrated, but finishing top 5 or 6 in Motogp isn't too shabby, plus he's the highest placed American overall.

  4. I actually think the paint scheme is perfect. It goes along with the whole retro thing going on right now. I also like the true standard look about the bike, kind of like a T-Bonne. Might be able to make it into a psuedo Scrambler :D

  5. after hearing the sound clip of the stock exhaust vs M4 Carbon's, I'm debating on changing out. The problem is I don't want to add a PC3. So I'm wondering what would be better, switching out the can's or switching to a Mistral crossover?

The reason for not wanting to add the pc3 is I don't want to have to mess around with mapping and such.

  6. To me the graph says Mistrals win for low end torque improvement...almost 10ft-lb better...right?

I read that the torque and HP curves should cross at 5252 RPM can someone explain the math to me? And why have I seen variance in a couple graphs but the "torque dip" was still around 4500RPM

The Mistrals seem like a better buy as they were cheaper than the Stucchi and while the Stucchi was double walled I was told the "siamese" set up was subject to cracking. The siamese part means the two main parallel pipes are joined in the middle

Mistral in Red and Stucchi in Blue.

Yeah, that's what I got as well. It looks like the Mistral is the better bang for the buck and the better low end power is exactly what I would want.

  7. I wish they'd lose those ugly rubber bumpers above the motor/below the gas tank, but other than that, I think it's not a horrible looking bike. Those panels blend in nicer on the Sport though.

I totally agree, I used to think that the breva sport was a joke just because it appears all they did was add a windscreen and clipons. The sport is starting to grow on me though but I also noticed that the MG Italian site appears to be advertising the release of the 8v Griso :food: Can't wait to see some specs on the 8v engine and hopefully get a test ride. Guzzi looks to be putting up some good bikes with the Breva Sport, 8v Griso, and the new Stelvio. They are making my next bike choice very hard and I just paid off the LM and the DR650.

  8. HOLY SHNIKES!!! :notworthy:

ONLY 1, count'em, 1 mile on the OD. Where's my loan calculator?? As often as these come up on the market, might be worth it if you've ever even thought about getting one. I would get it but I don't do track days, and the NAZI's we have running the Maryland Gov't there's no way I could ever get it to pass inspection.

  9. "I know that the big hariy italian guys go for a nice gootsie."

So do redneck Harley guys  There's a couple at my work who always admire the Le Mans, telling me they'll let me ride their Harley if they can ride my LM. Sure thing :not: When me and some buddies took a trip through northern Pa, quite a few people walked over to look at the LM while my buddies Duc Monster 620 and the other guys custom painted Suzi SV650 looked on wishing they were a goose :P:

  10. Went riding in Northern Pennsylvania this past weekend with some buddies. Good riding and great scenery, lots of mc riders. Funny how many people stopped to look at the Le Mans. Even Harley guys, my friend made a comment to one of them that "MG's are truely original bikes because you don't see many of them around", in fact I think there were only about 500 sports and lm's imported into the U.S. each year. Thus the reason their allowed to use non-steel gas tanks. Anyway, here are some pics:

  11. On the non-ohlins le mans/sports, when installing a new spring, which side of the shock comes off and how? Please tell me its not the side with the hose going to the reservoir.... also anyone know how I remove the end of the shock to install the new spring? I haven't taken it off yet so I'm trying to determine how I'm giong to do this and make sure I have all the right tools before I dig in. Thanks.

  12. Seller says he's out of 1091 springs.

I wanted a heavier spring for my Nero Corsa...

yep, that's why I took the chance and went with the 1093. At worst I'm out $30, I could care less how cheap the paint finish is. Its the spring quality that counts.

  13. For $30 shipped I took the chance and bought the 1093-29/514. Not sure how I'm going to respring the shock yet, may have a shop do it if its too hard. But for $30 I figure its worth the risk.

  14. your right, 57mm does seem extremely large especially considering the fork tube diameter is 54mm (just happen to know that for the aftermarket bars I had ordered). Not sure what the inside diameter would be, may have to wait until I get home, but a 57mm ID would make for an extremely large fork tube(s).

Just remembered, my bike is getting serviced. Does someone with a sachs fork want to do me a favor and measure the ID of a fork tube, if its not too much trouble(could probably get away with measuring the diameter of preload/rebound cap)?

  15. So I take it this number for the non-Ohlins V11's? 1093-31/95, and 95 is the spring rate in Newtons? So you get the 1093-31 spring with the correct wieght for you? How do you figure out the spring rate for a 160lb person?

  16. I'm in Ellicott City actually, so Speed's is only a couple back roads away. I really like Speed's and think he and his guys do outstanding work and are quite honest, but if I can save myself the 3 or 4 day turn around time and the money by doing an oil change myself in an hour or two then fine.

As for the rally, I've never been to one yet and would love to go, but unfortunately I'm leaving for vacation on the 21st of June and won't be back until 1 July.

If you guys want to get together sometime let me know. A buddy who rides a Duc monster and I are heading to Wellsboro, Pa sometime in mid/late July to see the great "Grand Canyon of the East Coast" if you guys are interested.

  17. I bought a Guzzi manual, it just hasn't arrived yet and am wondering what is usually done at 9k? Might take it on myself if its just an oil change. I had the big service at 6k done, checked valves and other stuff, maybe I can start doing the oil changes and having the stealership do the 6,12,18k etc services

I know some of you are going to say I should or can do everything, but I don't have that much desire with a dealer 5 miles away and another bike that I can ride while the Guzzi's getting serviced.
