  1. While reattaching the hot wire to the battery, the wrench slipped and fell onto the computer. Sparks flew and the angels shrieked. Now my bike won't start, all the electrical stuff works(blinkers, headlight, horn). The bike won't turn over, nothing, like the battery is dead. Is there a way to check if the brain is fried or if its the starter? Its really cold out if that could have anything to do with it. Anyone know how much it costs to replace it and where I can get one if I need it?

  2. There's a member on wildguzzi that has a Le Mans with saddlebags mounted further back than the Hepco Becker bags, can someone tell me how he did this or point me to a tutorial, and can anyone identify if those are H&B bags or givi's? I would PM him if the wildguzzi admins would approve my account. Here's the photo:

  3. No doubt they spend most of thier time on the pavement, but there is no shortage of people taking them down dirt, fire, and rugged mountain roads. Visit advrider. com if you think that people don't take those bikes down some nasty roads. Nobody is talking about taking them down tight nasty single track, but they are not strictly pavement bikes at all. These are becoming the new true touring rigs because they can do just about everything, they are the true all arounders.

  4. Even if it is a photo chop, maybe guzzi will build it or something similar if they get enough positive feedback. With the success of the Duc Multistrada, Suzi vstrom, Buell Uly, and the new tiger, hopefully MG is seeing there are lots of people willing to buy these types of bikes. I also heard Europe has a Kawasaki Versys which is along the same lines and supposed to be a great bike. These types of bikes are half sport, half touring, half adv, and all fun.

  5. I'm sorry but those chrome tanks are HIDEOUS :bbblll: I'd be blinded by the reflection from the sun, not to mention that tank would be the definition of the word "bling" You might as well chrome your rims and frame too. I love my "arrest me" red paint job. Nothing says Italian like red :mg:

  6. I'm surprised the Duc isn't better. I always like the Multi's and was almost ready to add one to the garage last fall. They have disappeared from my wish list partly because of the maintenance costs, which I hear are a lot less with the 1100 motor. The only bikes I like right now are the Duc 800 S2R and the Triumph Tiger, I would take any post 2004 Tiger. I don't know if any bike would make me trade/sell my Guzzi, just something about the bike. I will probably wait on another street bike though and add a 2008 Kawasaki KLR.

  7. I thought that I had escaped this problem since I haven't experienced most problems talked about on this forum, guess I've been lucky up till now. I noticed my tank paint is starting to peel/crack on the bottom side near the front of the tank. I'm wondering how some of you if any have fixed this problem before it got too bad. And for those that have gotten thier tanks repainted, what did it cost you and where'd you take it? If it needs to be repainted, I want it done by someone that can paint it like the original paint scheme.

  8. Thanks for all the reply's, I got it to work. For some odd reason the LED's only work when the bike is running unlike the stock ones. One of the LED's also went out which caused the whole thing to not blink as well. Replaced the bulb/diode and all is good.

So for future reference, when adding LED lights they should work but the bike needs to be running otherwise the lights will just stay lit and not blink.

  9. Actually there is too much resistance in the new light. More resistance = less amps = no heating of the bi-metallic inside the flasher relay. Simple solution. Most auto parts store sell an electronic flasher relay that is not dependant of amp's to cause it to flash. It will plug right in and you then have flashers again.

forgive me if I'm wrong but if there was too much resistance wouldn't the new signal light fail to light? When I try and signal, the appropriate signal comes on but it just stays lit. I've searched and found someone suggesting a resistor for this type of problem. I didn't have this problem when I installed my front ones, they were plug and play.

  10. for those that have replaced the stock clip-ons on your v11 le-mans/sport, how was/is the vibration of your new bars? I've got a pair of the aluminum Verliche clip-ons and the new triple tree riser bar combo from RossoPuro also looks very appealing  , but both are aluminum and therefore should NOT have wieghted bar ends. The other thing I was thinking about doing is just switching the stock clipons, left to the right side adn right to the left side so that the bar would be closer and I could keep the weighted bar ends which dampen the vibrations very well.

  11. The footpeg itself is not adjustable in height but you can adjust the height/angle of the shift/brake lever. You can also move the shift/brake peg forward or backward(you can see the 3 holes on the arm). I believe I paid aroun $250/$300 for them. Greg Fields would be the real person to ask.

  12. I mounted them where the two pieces of the wheel fairing come together on the outside of the forks. The reason for this is that we get fog in Maryland and placing the lights low gets under the fog. Placing them lower may have cut a little of the distance the lights can reach but I'm still able to see 10 to 20 feet past where my headlight reaches. Adding one to each side has also given me greater visibility to the sides. I went from the 50w stock bulbs to 35w. The difference is noticeable but not by a lot, still provides a lot of extra light. I also got a Kuryaken led batter gauge, there's almost no strain/drain on the battery unless I'm coasting or stopped in neutral. I highly recommend the Kuryaken led battery gauge.

    1. I don't think these 1/4 pound lights will do much to affect anything engineers have worked so hard for. They certainly haven't affected my handling or gas mileage.

    2. If I have to replace $10 bulbs every six months or year, so what. Even the lights themselves only cost $50. Either way, nothing I'm worried about having to replace if they break.

    3. read the paragraph above.

    4. Where I come from bling means shiny crap that has no affect on usability or function. These do not fall into either category. If they had no function or served no purpose, they would not be added, but they are very functional. Especially since I leave for work at 6am and its starting to get dark earlier.
