Bill, you're asking about a pair of stock carbon Scura cans? These are identical to the other V11S, only with the carbon wrap. If they are louder then stock by a handful, they are most likely not OEM. $.02, Todd

Dave, above is a graph of the Ti-mufflers (which BTW, can be mounted in the stock low position/brackets quite easily as you saw this weekend). The graph shows a stock mapped V11S in red, and the Ti-Pipe/ECU PCIII mapped bike in blue. No other mods are done (note with stock x-over). Interesting as I found it. Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com

Cap'n, yes there is, and as Rich M. pointed out there are "how-to's" on the disk. You'll need to first open a map that is compatible with your bike/PCIII in the PCom software, then you will be able (once you're connected to the PCIII) be allowed to "Get Map" or "Get Current". Either will work. Todd@GuzziTech.com 'Certified PCIII Tech' GuzziTech.com

Cap'n, sounds like you got most everything else covered. The PCIII/PCom software is not Mac friendly. That said if you run a Windows type program on your Mac, it can/has been done. Only other option is if you have a Palm Pilot. The Palm allows simple map loads, but does not allow access to the map. The PCIII map cannot be tweaked by hand. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me direct, Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com

Cap'n, I have most of your questions documented on GuzziTech.com "More EV Power" under the Performance section of the webpage. This theory applies to the V11S motors (dyno proven). Yes it is noticably louder... no real losses to note. The beauty of the PCIII is that is does not need to be "fooled". Simply upload the map closest to what mods you have. I have quite a few maps available at Guzzitech.com, and I have a few others not listed, so write-me direct if you do not see your combo. I can offer a tweak or two on any map. callithrix, Glad to be of help, and really appreciate the plug. Anytime. My only real re-payment is the few bucks I make by selling these PCIII's direct; GuzziTech.com PCIII's Pardon the spam, Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com

Al, I'll post words to the Tech page on timing mods outside the PCIII, yes. I'm still working on Dynojet for a timing module. More soon, Todd

The Tech(nical-Il)lusion box can only richen (even a BONE stock bikes needs fuel pulled from the table)... and you also have to hack into the stock wiring harness to make it work. On top of this, the "richening" adjustments are done only by screw type potentiometers, so it is no where near as precise of "mapping" as the PCIII table is. On top of all this, it does not have the ability to be "mapped" using anything remotely similar to Dynojet's Tuning Link Software. Those few whom I've helped via e-mail on map corrections would be SOL. My other $.02 on all of this is here; PCIII Black Box Magic Enjoy, Todd@GuzziTech.com 'Certified PCIII Tech' GuzziTech.com

Jason, no the swingarm and tire were only widened between '01 & '02... you're correct there. So, my question is... is a carbon hugger made for the '02+ newer bikes? Todd@GuzziTech.com
-
callithrix, What year is your bike? I am the one that put that "fix" together on John T's (on this forum) V11S. Most all pre-02's benefit from this mod, though you do loose some ground clearance by doing this. The '02+ newer bikes generally have not shown the same symptoms... and if I am not wrong on this... the LeMans' still have a different rake then the Sports do, even with the same (longer) frame. Todd@GuzziTech.com

Murray, have you actually ridden a bike with a PCIII? http://www.guzzitech.com/PCIII-Endorse15M.html I can probably find you someone local to where you live for you to demo one, if not. And you should before developing such a strong opinion. If anyone is interested in one, I'd appreciate the business as I've spent more time developing/tweaking maps for Guzzisti for free then anyone else that I am aware of; http://www.guzzitech.com/PCIII-15M.html Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com PCIIIs

Anyone know if the carbon one for the V11S fits the wider armed '02 bikes? If not, I may build some in carbon if I can get enough folks interested. I may also do the complete tail section. Todd@GuzziTech.com p.s. Now doing a limited run in carbon & glass side covers for the EV/Cal lined bikes.

Very nice Dave... they look suspiciously similar to mine. As Rich M. has mentioned, Joe's stuff seems top notch. I highly recommend his products/services. We at GuzziTech also have a set of the 4v GuzziTech Guards Todd@GuzziTech.com Joe Kenny Headguards

Hey John, I have not seen/heard/experienced anything about this. I think that this "person" got his/her wires crossed, and or has to put the crack pipe down. The '04s that I have ridden have not even begun to hint at hydra-valve operation. Nor is there anything on the new Breva 1100 about this either. There is a viscious rumor that the entire line will move next year to the partial open loop ECU which arrived on the Breva this year... which, BTW, we (Dynojet & I) are just about finished a PCIIIusb for this system. I can't imagine that the "Sport" line will ever wear the hydra-valves... but I've had to eat my words more then once. Hmmm, T-Rx Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com

Al, yes that is what I was saying... that timing tinkering showed little promise for Dynojet to go through the headaches and expense of developing a Timing module. However, this is not to say that alot of folks with V11S' would'nt benefit by timing changes (for pinging) even on stock bikes. I now own an '02 V11 LeMans, that was known as a "ping-o-saurus", as the previous owner called it. So I'll be working hard to figure this whole timing bit out... even if it's not under Dynojet's reigns. The usb unit does infact get us LEAPS closer for them to do timing, but I'll first have to prove to them that it is worthy, and then convince them that there will be a fairly substantial market for it. Victor, I was just having some fun at your expense Bro. Evoluzione's fender Elim kit is shown here; V11S Fender Elim Kit - and is currently being used on several Guzzis here in SoCal. Todd@GuzziTech.com

Al/All, I spent all day Monday at Dynojet Vegas learning/tinkering/building new maps for new (Breva, Hydra-Motored Cal's, '03 LeMans with Ti-pipe and ECU) Guzzis. All which will be avail. soon on GuzziTech. My newest personal map (Jackal with V11S ECU) was built around T-Linking both cylinders independently, and experimenting with the Accel pump feature... and can tell you first hand if you keep the numbers low, sensitivity/duration/fuel added, you can definitely feel a difference both on the dyno, and on the road. I also can take the leap to say that timing changes on two of the bikes that we had there showed little to no gains/differences. This was an experimentation outside of the PCIIIusb (more soon on this), so don't get too excited. This proved that Dynojet's hesitancy to fork out the money to build a timing module for the Guzzi PCIII right now is unsubstantiated. I'm going to be delving soon into some motor mods myself, and will post any/all findings on timing as I go. Reports will be first found on GuzziTech.com. Todd@GuzziTech.com

Al, hence my somewhat humerous, but very meaningful pot-shot. If you're an employee of FBF (nothing to be ashamed of for sure) you should let everyone know, and absolutely respond to questions asked... not just drop by to generate sales interest and be gone. Seems to be a reaccuring thing on boards lately. Come'on Vic, step up bud... I know it's in you. $.02 T-Rx - Todd@GuzziTech.com p.s. Thanks for the post on the Corbin seat.
-
No, I know Victor... well OK I met him once, so I was just messing with him, and the fact they he really does work for FBF. Off topic, Al but what's the story with the Corbin on your bike as no such animal exists everyone is told. Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com
-
Guys, Victor the sneaky little devil he is works for FBF, hence the "protoype" bit. I'm reconin' you won't hear much in terms of a comparo, much like the same for the x-over/dyno charts. Victor, was hoping/counting on you for a bit of a follow-up on the x-over to no avail. Wait 'til I see you in person next time... you spammer you. Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com

Stock V11S with stock crossover & stock muffs in blue, and the same with only a Mistral x-over change in red. I do not have a Stucchi comparo with stock muffs to show. I now have well over 100 different dyno runs for most V11S' combos otherwise. Thanks to everyone that have been sending them along. Todd@GuzziTech.com

Nice... and thanks to Bob W., I now have the PCIII map for this combo. So, Bob, how's the PCIII'ed Ti-ECU running? Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com

jrt, When I get the rocker brngs. in this weekend, I'll post info. on GuzziTech as I mentioned... I'll also let you know where to get the bearings (I'll most likely try to source them for sale on the Tech page as well). 1. Can't really personally comment. 2. I'd agree, and no data so far, but I'll be reporting. More soon, Todd
-
John, if you're trying to tame the noise, I'm sure the Ti-rods would help... along with those, I am going to be trying a set of needle-roller bearings for the rocker arms. A shop here in SoCal sells them. I have yet to hear anything bad about them, and he's been running them in Guzzis for about a year or so. I'll drop them in, and post to GuzziTech.com with the results. Todd@GuzziTech.com GuzziTech.com
