  1. Has anyone had a V11 trip meter knob fall off ? Mine has disappeared while on a 400km ride and I used to find it very handy to zero & monitor tank usage easily. Does the shaft just screw in to a female thread or is it a break that I am looking at ? I will investigate this weekend as I have to remove my fairing to get in there and see. Next time I will loctite !

    V11 pillion feedback

Hi, My wife 5'8" and sons who are both over 6'4" insist on my giving them a pinion ride every weekend - no, not all at the same time. I have found a strap made in Australia which I wear around my waist which has loops at each side for pillions to use as a gripping point when on my V11. It saves all the helmet banging if you have to pull up quickly and seems to put more of their weight lower into the bike instead of on top of it, also aids in the syncronising of lean in cornering. My kids and wife will not ride with me now unless I wear it as it makes the whole experience more enjoyable for them. My wife is even thinking of getting me to wear it in bed... The strap has been one of the best things I have bought besides the Guzz and is only around AUD$27 + postage - & no I don't work for the company & NO the recomendation on the items site is not from me - Greg is spelt the wromg way ! The link to them is : if interested. Safe riding Gregg
  3. Hi, Would anyone be able to let me know if there is a paint code for the Metallic Green used on a V11 Sport (around 2000 model). I have purchased a fibreglass fairing locally which I want to match to the bike and I cannot find any reference to a colour code on the chassis. Unfortunately I do not have a service log book as I bought the bike 2nd hand and it had been lost, maybe it is in this log-book ? - if anyone has a log-book from a wreck or breaker could they also let me know ? Thanks Guys - I am enjoying the Hooters thread ! Gregg (another Australian)
  4. Thanks Richard, I will follow up with MG locally and see if I can get hold of one, interesting that something that small does the job so well ! Gregg
  5. Hi, I am a "new" owner of a V11 Sport and have a fairly basic question to ask of the forum, please excuse if it has been asked before ! My V11 is a naked bike - no fairing, and I was hoping to reduce the amount of buffeting I was getting while touring with the lads. I have had a good look at the MG fairings on Tenni's, Mandellos & other models of V11. They do not look as if they would do a lot to reduce the buffeting. I was also checking the Magni site and drooling over the little bikini fairing they can supply, especially as their website shows a green metallic bike same as mine. I live down in Sydney, Australia and have a great deal of difficulty getting any replies from Magni even after a late night phone call. I would appreciate any comments if anyone have any opinions on which way to go ? I am around 6' (180cms) tall and fairly solid in build - (unfortunately similar to a Santa in stature) most of my miles are freeway-motorway until I can get up into the hills for a blast. I love my V11 after returning to bikes after 20 years - previously I owned a Ducati 900 Super Sport 1978 model way back when and I reckon the MG has more character !
