Al....good luck on making the best decision for your family. Motorcycles come and go....
OTOH... Does that make me one of "the old Timers" I kinda resent that and will insist that you buy me a hamburger and fries the next time you visit Alice's.
Awe, never mind.... I'll treat! Joe

Purchased approx 6 months ago from a friend, rode it home and I intended to cafe it out. Then it was a nice example of a stock CB400F. Chrome was good and paint was nice. Front fender was wrinkled and the tach/speedo holder was crooked. Perfect seat.
Since then I've completely dissambled it, down to the frame. Purchased new bearings for the wheels and steering head, sprockets (f/r) and chain. Polished the engine cases, dissassembled the wheels, de-chromed the rims, cleaned the spokes, purchased new stainless steel nipples and a bunch of other stuff I cant even remember (wait, coming back to me now) ... cafe style gas tank (Benelli), all cables and clubman bars. Plus other miscellaneous stuff... rear cush inserts, brake piston, brake master cylinder re-build kit, new rear drums and front brake pads... still I'm overlooking stuff. Important stuff like a Kerker header!
Everything is there to assemble the bike and have a very nice 75 SOHC Honda... except the tires... except my initiative.
So, the point is I'd prefer to sell it as is, dissassembled.
$2000 (a fair price for what I paid for the bike alone) or will trade plus (my) cash for the right V11 Sport/Ballabio... (or)...
I'm in Modesto CA if interested.

Me (again).... Well I finally done did it! I am now a retiree and as such I think I deserve to own another V11. So, I'm looking (over my shoulder actually in case the wife has entered the room) for a V11 Sport. Oddly 'nuff the prices have actually INCREASED over the past 2 - 3 years. There is a very nice 04 Cafe Sport in my neck of the woods going for (asking price) $7250. Hmmmmm.
Maybe I can "repo" all the parts that I've sold to Al and docc and build another V11!

Thanks Jason....Joey selected Carleton after being accepted to UC Davis, Berkeley and San Diego. He visited the campuses and decided that the "kids" at Carleton looked more normal/less weird!
As for myself, I'm still working on my spelling....Minnesota. Got it!

Ahhh, I see my fans are few, but fervent.
Antonio, I didnt make it to Italy, but my son Joey did and thoroughly enjoyed himself! He bought me a Moto Guzzi book in Italian...of course I cant understand a word of it, but it just seems so cool.
Family is all doing fine Jason. My older daughter is married and in Seattle, younger one is in Chile teaching English and my son is attending Carleton College in Minnesota. Wife still teaches and I still push a police car around. But I plan on retiring this year and maybe take that long overdue motorcycle trip... maybe ride all the way to Sicily!
Sold the Guzzi and now own a Suzuki DL650A VStrom. Wonderful bike, but its kinda like being married to a totally practical and plain looking woman after living with a beautiful Italian mistress.
Anyway, thanks Helicopterjim, Belfastguzzi and Paul (and everyone else especially Jaap) for the memories. Maybe see y'all back here if I can convince SWMBO that it is not legal to kill a husband just because he owns two (or more) bikes!

In case anyone's life is so dreary that they may remember me, I just wanted to drop in and say "hello" as I visit this fine forum and recall my active days here. I still think the V11 Sport/LeMans is the most beautiful motorcycle ever made anywhere by anyone!
How I envy you all...
Oh, and Happy new Year!

Hi Francesco. Richard100T is correct. the Ti Exhaust came with shorter hangers to upsweep the cannisters. Leaving the stock (longer) hangers preserved the stock look which some like better.

Maybe you can sell it to me. I could register it in California, and you could visit occasionally...
