  1. Since selling my 02 V11 Lemans I have grown to miss not owning a Guzzi. Been searching the internet high and low for the past 3 weeks looking for another Guzzi. Not too particular as to the model... more interested in getting a good deal on whatever Guzzi I procure.

Here is what I am interested in:

    A Griso

    A Breva 1100 - hopefully with bags

    A Norge

    2003 or newer Lemans

and if the price is right a 1200 Breva Sport

If anyone knows of such a deal sitting in some garage or showroom near N.C. please respond. ;)

  2. Crooz, been outa the country for about 6 weeks (picked up a contract in tunisia) and just got back online. Sorry to hear we won't be seeing as many postings...look me up when you get back down here. I will have a new mc by then, just waiting to get it before posting.

btw, my daughter is the photographer/videographer always taking the cool pics/videos. PM me anytime.

    Tunisia !!! wow!

I'm plan on hanging around the forum some. As I am keeping my Guzzi Jackets... I'll probably end-up with another Guzzi in the next couple of years. I'm would be happy with a Norge to replace my new 06 Concours... but what I really want to do it customize a Griso (small cafe fairing, etc...).

Tell you kido I admire her work! I was once in the photography business as both a side job & hobbie.

  3. Regrettably, the SV1kN hasn't been imported stateside since '05: the USA is still considered a 3rd world motorcycling country for some reason. If Suzuki had offered them with the blacked out frame and other colors than the metallic/orange combo they'd originally had, they might have sold more naked models. The abbreviated fairing on the SV1kS

But that motor is so good it can sell even an ugly bike like the DL1000! ;)

I agree with ya on much of what youve stated. Personally I would live to remove the top headlight fairing from a SV1000 and install a new modern headlight, or dual's like a Speed Triple. And yes that engine !!!! One of the most fun bike engines I've ever owned.... especially if you live in mountainous areas with curves. Now if you live in saaay... Kansas... then get a GSXR.

  4. May as well hold on to them

We've seen many threads like this in the past.

seldom do they manage to stay away.

most come back within a year or two with a bad case of regret.

We'll leave the light on for ya :D

Your probably right.... a Norge or Griso most probably.

Probably one coming winter when the prices are low!

  5. Crooz, before you go, from where did you get your avatars? I always liked them I have to say. Who's that women or, better, the fotografer?

She ain't half bad... if only she didn't have all those darn moods!!!!!!

  6. I sold my Triumph Sprint ST955i last night. I know how you feel. I'm sad about it, but there are always other bikes.

But since you traded for an asian bike to due to reliability, I will add this. In 4 years, will you get the same great trade in offer? I'll bet not. It might seem like a good deal now, but if you decide to trade again you might end up keeping the asian bike alot longer than expected. Asian bikes just don't have the $$ trade in value.

I sold the Sprint for $400 over NADA and the buyer didn't even blink or haggle. I actually sold it for $900 over what I had in it. I had it on Ebay and it had 46 watchers and 1500 views in 3 days. You won't see many asian bike get that kind of attention.

Enjoy the asian twin. You didn't mention which one it is.

I agree that the LeMans had lost the bulk of its value, and that it may very well be worth near the same amount 4 years from now. Triumph sportbike are very simlar... limited market, loose value like a rock the first 2 or 3 years then settle in around the $3500 to $4200 range. As far as their trade-in value... it's non existant anywhere other than a Triumph Dealer in a warm weather state.... much like Guzzi's.

Yea, my new asian twin will also loose value like any bike. But when you pay under $8000 for a new bike that's not as big a deal as if it were an Aprillia or something expensive. It's a SV1000s by the way. I just sold one 2 months ago, and sort of missed it. And yes it too sold on Ebay, and I too had 40plus watchers, and hundreds of views. The SV1000s was the most fun bike I have ever owned, bar none. Now if I lived where there were nothing but straight flat roads, it would be a different story. You know, all these kids riding around town on their GSXR's & Ninja's haven't a clue how much more fun they would have on a track or in the mountains if they had a V-twin. I may never go back to a in-line 4 myself.

  7. Thanks again to each of you, yes I probably will be back at some point.

BTW.. I have a new lower Oil Pan gasket, a new shift return spring, and numerious Moto Guzzi patches if anyone is interested. PM me if so.

  8. First I would like to thank each & every one of you guys for your knowledge and friendship over the past 9 months. It been a learning and fun experience. I would also like to say that you Guzzi owners are a rare and unique breed of characters with more personality (and personalities) than any other Bike Forum members I have beer been around.

I had a weak moment today and traded my 2002 LeMans for a new Asian V-Twin. They offered me a better deal than I expected, and being that they are also a Guzzi Dealership that probably helped. I had not had the first bit of trouble from my Guzzi, but each time I rode it I was always worried about some small this or that happening to it as I had read about the various gremlins that sometimes surface. My rear brake often dragged, so I found myself rarly using it so to avoid this once it had loosened up. Each time I shifted gears I done so gently as I was worried about the return spring failing. Each time I parked the bike while extremely hot I was worrined if it would refire due to the sensor gremlin many of you have mentioned. Changing the oil was also not a simple task. I sort of made my decision to change last evening while coming home from a bike night on my Guzzi... my low fuel light never really came on, yet the bike skipped twice, and cut-off once during this 25 mile trip. When I got home I noted that the fuel level was indeed the culprit. This morning my low fuel light worked... go figure. Yes, I am more worrysome than most, but these constant worries robbed from my enjoyment of riding this V-twin beauty. It had become more enjoyable lately for me to look at my LeMans than for me to ride it. Had I a local Guzzi mechanic to rely on should problems arrise things would have been different.... however it's 55 miles and on the other side of the neighboring city to the cloesest one. So today when I had the chance to upgrade from 2002 bike, to a 2007 bike with full warrenty for only $2500, I just couldn't refuse. I hope I don't regret this decision.

So, you can call me a coward, or a worrywart, that's fine. But one thing I will not do is belittle the Guzzi name. I truly love these bikes. :mg: I even tried to trade for a new Griso or Norge today... but the figures just didn't fit my budget (too many bikes in the corral and a Daughter in College). As much as I love the Norge, I just can't see it being worth $3200 more than a new FJR. As much as I love the Griso, I can't rationalize spending $3500 to $5000 extra vs a large naked asian twin. I will be a Guzzi Fan for life... and hopefull in the years to come I can procure another, when circumstances are different.

Thanks to all of you for your friendship and knowledge.

  9. Had my headed pipes and crossover ceramic coated last week at a local shop that specializes in such various coatings. They do a lot of work for NASCAR Teams as well.

I had gotten a quote of $200 from JET-HOT... thank goodness I delayed that decision, then found these guys locally. Saved over $100 bucks.

If anyone needs assistance with this... shoot me a PM or E-mail.

Color options for this high heat coating are silver, flat black or a smoother deeper black. I went with silver, they call it Cool Chrome.

  10. To all you guys buying aftermarket pipes: I also like the stock pipes and scratched my right can in an 'incident'. Anyone willing to sell their stock can(s) please PM me. This will help you offset the cost of your new exhaust.

I will have a factory set for sale soon... probably around 3 weeks from now.

  11. Being in the states... I often get really frustrated  by the lack of suppliers here for Guzzi stuff. Their seems to be only a handful, and some of those are not the most customer friendly, reasonably priced, nor do they have adaquate websites for info or ordering. You guys in Europe don't know just how good you have it there.

It seems that Calif & the Northwest is the best market here for Guzzi's.... but on the east coast their is squat!

My point in all of this... when someone steps-up and offers great prices, customer service, good communications and reasonable delivery cost... I'm in. :bier:

This 'don't question prices', 'got to have it now' culture in America was created and promoted by the people selling stuff!

  12. Look like I may set of M4's from FalcoLion. I removed my stock system today to have the header pipes & crossover Ceramic Coated.

He is to have availability to the M4's this week... and he has offered me FREE shipping ! :food:

  13. I would like to offer to all fellow Guzzi owners an opportunity to pick up very good exhausts for a very good price.

The prices will be as follows

Aluminum List Price is $630 - Group Buy price is $560

Carbon List Price is $835 - Group Buy price is $735

Titanium List Price is $799 - Group Buy price is $695

M4 makes really nice high quality stuff and these are no different. These are very well made exhausts and they come with factory-like mounts. In other words they have mounting tabs and they don't have big exhaust loop holders. It makes them look factory stock with extra pizzaz and an awesome sound. I need to get an order of at least 5-6 exhausts. If anyone wants to be on this deal just PM me. If anyone not sure about me you are welcomed to ask around. Vlad - FalcoLion

I may be in, if the offer is still available. Money is money, and I like low prices.

  14. Has anyone out there disassembled the factory (brownish colored) exhaust canisters as found on the 02 LeMans?

Here's my thinking.... I was about to take my header pipes & factory cross-over to the local Coating Business and have them ceramic coated. Then I thought... what could you not do the same for the canister skins?

I have had the tips off before just snooping around, and I assume you remove the top cap near the front exposing the two other connector bolts. Then remove the mounting bracket bolts and the skins slip off? Is this correct? If so, is there a possibility I can't get them back together and holes aligned? HELP please!

    Thanks in advance... :huh2:

  15. Avon UK production championship - Roy Armstrong (?) late seventies...77?

US Endurance championship (Dr John's bike) - early 80's

    KB :sun:

Looks like YOU stand corrected! :bbblll:

Also... go to most motorcycle websites and search for Guzzi Le Mans photo's or parts... they are listed under the category of 'Sportsbike'. :bbblll::bbblll:
