  2. Sorry SLR, but if I give up on her, I'll try and sell the whole bike (minus forks).
  3. Same wheel, axle, and brakes as well? That looks awfully promising.
  4. Thanks for the link Jim, I'll give him a try.
  5. Thanks for your thoughts. Things have been worked out with the shipper, the forks were insured. Unfortunately, my wife shipped them and did quite understand the value. Don't worry about parting the bike out, that's the last option. I posting to see if anybody has leads on suitable forks. I haven't had much luck on my own.
  6. I took the Ohlins off my Scura and sent them into Ohlins USA to be rebuilt. The shock made it, but the forks were lost (or stolen) in shipping. So, I now have a Scura with a freshly rebuilt shock and no front legs. I'm having trouble tracking down the old style (non-radial brakes) Ohlins forks. So the way I see it I have four choices: 1) Wait for the correct (non-radially mount) forks to show up on E-bay 2) Switch to the new style Ohlins and radial mount calibers 3) Find a stock fork off a non-Scura 4) Part the bike out Any thoughts or advice? Or have a lead on the correct forks?
  7. Hello, Scura #387 now resides in Iowa. I purchased it from Leafman60 and rode it up from New Orleans last weekend. I noticed the rear wheel bearings had developing some play by the time I got home so yesterday I swapped them. It appears I have the too short spacer problem. In addition I need to swap out the needle bearing on the right side of the bevel drive, but that will have to wait until next weekend since that bearing was not in stock. I would also like to thank Leafman60 for making the long distance purchase easy. He when out of his way to accommodate my schedule and knowing I was about to ride the bike 1000 miles home replaced a perfectly good, but somewhat worn front tire at his expense. Thank you Sir. The ride home was uneventful, but if you ever need to spend the night in Blytheville Arkansas, the innkeeper at the Fairview Suites suggested I roll my bike inside. His logic, "When the bars let out at 2am, you'll sleep soundly knowing your baby is only a few feet from you."
  8. Sell it to me, cheap. You don't want that m-fing piece of ...
  9. Another question for the board, what years where the Scura produced? Most of the ones I see are 2002s.
  10. Thanks for the replies. Gives me some choices.
  11. So I've decided I want a Guzzi. I've ridden a couple of V11s and liked them, although they don't ride as nice as a BMW, the V-twin sound goes a long way. Looking at the the various models, the Scura and it's Ohlin's Suspenion jumps out at me. I also like the black paint scheme. Two questions, first, I've also read the threads on this board about the exploding Scura flywheel, are there any other V11 models with the Ohlins? Second, is there a big difference between the Ohlins and the standard suspension?
