  1. The main reason I removed my Knight Design pegs and sold them was the issue with the brake peg, the extenders were not available when I purchased mine. Looks like they will solve your issue the OEM pegs really do not have that much adjustability. I was never really comfortable with the Knight Design angle as I had knee problems back then and the angle was very uncomfortable for me. I finally found relief with a set of fully adjustable 360 degree pegs from Moto International and had a set of extended and adjustable pegs from a machinist friend of mine. The Knight design one that I just saw on their Web site look like they will solve your issue.P8124053-1.jpg

  2. I was about to despair as i have had the Griso for a week and had NO problems at all :)

I'm getting a crazy fuel consumption on the dashboard ! I do about 100 km and the reserve lamp goes on: the computer says 12,9 km per 100 km !

My riding isn't especially fast nor inadequate but I'm amazed (and slightly worried) that the bike drinks up so much.

What could it be ? The bike runs really smooth, there aren't any weak zones or burning fuel noises when cutting off...What can make a bike drinks so much ?

(conditions: 20 kms on the motorway and 80 kms in town)

So how much fuel does it take when you refill

  3. Reopening an old thread here but this might help anyone in need of a color match for the "Tenni" Green matte finish.

So I was at my local Lowes today getting a new and long over due home A/C system filter, So I'm walking down the paint aisle and just for S**ts and grins started looking at the spray paint selection, Eh What's this, why it is a can of Rust-Oleum Satin Spruce Green.

I have been searching for a color match to apply on the Flat Black Givi A770 screen that I have. I want to paint the lower part of the fairing screen the "Tenni" color, the middle leave flat black and a white accent tape where it meets the screen. Bought the can home and when I put the color cap up against the Fuel tank on the Griso, I was stunned, I then sprayed an flat black piece of extra Guzzi plastic, I became overjoyed.

This is for a 2011 Griso SE

Look at the results comparing it to the front fender.

  4. Proud owner of a 11 Griso SE, I am looking to put on a Givi A770 screen which I have in matte Black. I am looking to get one flat surface area painted the Tenni green matte color. Has anyone been able to break the color code to match to a US base paint manufacturers data base ?

I am a where of the older post's with the BASF code , but my local paint suppler says that code is no good.

  5. My V11 has developed a sneeze at low revs, I don't think this is ECU related because it also does the same with a different unit.

It will idle quite nicely then occasionally seems to kick back and stall.

It does the same under way at higher revs and low throttle setting but of course doesn't stall.

I did a check to make sure I wasn't loosing voltage at the ECU, no problem there.

I was wondering if it's possibly an injector sticking.

The bike has done 71,000 km, as far as I know the injectors are original. How long will they last?

    Thanks :luigi:

Don't know if this is available in Canuck land or a product similar, but might be worth a try to run a heavy dose in your fuel.

  6. Good morning, folks. I've just bought Roper's Scura, serial no. 372, and am having a *really* good time with it. :race: The only real issue I have with it is the steering damper has some stiction before it starts to move. There's also not much difference from full soft to full hard. I'm thinking it just needs cleaned, fresh oil, etc.

I've searched, but the search function seems to be wonky. Has anyone rebuilt the Ohlins damper?

    TIA,

    Chuck

Chuck if you have a Google search engine available input this

    "rebuild ohlins damper"

  7. Anyone on here heading to the National rally that last weekend in July?

Well it's not "the" national rally this year that was held in Oregon. It is the North Carolina state rally and yes I will be attending, coming up from Florida. Great roads and as usual great people !

  8. Mine ... Quiet 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th. Slight whine in 3rd and 6th is loud which being new to Guzzi's was to say the least a bit worrying to start with. Now I just thinks it must be one of the many quirky things I'll have to get used too. Might try the Redline oil though. What about adding Molyslip does that have any effect?

Hmm nothing like reviving an old thread

No need to add Molyslip if your using Redline Shock Proof HD

  9. Thank for the suggestions. I FINALLY got around to taking a closer look at this thing. Here is what I did and what I think at this point. First, I cleaned up as much of the oil mess as I could (pipes, swingarm, shaft, engine cases). I then took some paper towel and tied it around the oil line. At the bottom of the oil line, right where it feeds into the rear of the lower sump, is a collar and a small, solid, line with an elbow bend. This solid line connects from the collar to the part of the oil line that is flexible and steel braided.

I tied the paper towel right around the point where the solid line couples with the flexible steel braided line just above the collar on the lower sump. Took it for a quick ride. When I got back I noticed that there is no more oil on the pipes, swingarm, etc. Also found no oil above the paper towel on the oil line. However, the paper towel itself has soaked with oil and oil was dripping down the solid part of the line onto the collar.

So...I am assuming that what I really need here is a new oil line. Does this sound reasonable? I was also wondering if anyone else has had an oil line fail in this manner?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks everyone,

    Mike

Had the same problem with a new Norge, it would weep, solved it by using Teflon tape around the male nipple 3 years now and no problems. FWIW

  10. If anty of you own a Norge or know someone who does, you need to remove it NOW. I have heard of them dragging on l.h. turns. After reading my MGNOC newsletter that thing would be coming OFF! A member wrote in where he had a wreck from the centerstand catching or digging into the pavement and causing a bad wreck. The dealer did not install a shorter bumper on the stand with some new mods. The dealer went out of business and the owner went to the hospital. I would recommend removing the centerstand completely.

I have had some parking lot thrills with sidestands and I can't imagine a 50 mph pole vault like this...

What issue of the News Letter ?

I have a Norge and have never scrapped the center stand, most owners shave a little off the rubber bumper so it doesn't hang quite that far down. There have been some stands that have loosened up on some early production one's but I never heard of one falling off causing a crash. My stand stays one.

  11. Does anyone here know how to clean up scuffs or marks on the MG Ti cans? Scotchbrite? Steel wool?

Here's why I'm asking... I just installed a new exhaust crossover and unlike the previous owner I fully seated the header pipes into the crossover (grease helps). This effectively moved my exhaust cans an inch or so towards the front of the bike so the exhaust can hanger clamps are farther up the cans than they used to be. This is good since they will support the cans better, but the clamps left marks on the cans at their old locations. I'd like to clean up the marks with something so they blend in a bit with the existing finish on the cans. Any suggestions?

Hide the "SIN" with another set of exhaust clamps over the offending area. :2c:

  12. I just found this site using a Google search and signed up, Looks like a great site.

My name is Dan and my handle is Danr

    I owned a 84 T5 from 1989 to 1993.

Since this past July, I am the proud owner of a Y2K Jackal, technically a V11 I guess, Picked it up near Ft Lauderdale with 1130 miles on it :!:

I am leaving tomorrow for New Jersey to pick up from a good friend of mine his 1983 blue SP1000NT (original owner) I have known about the bike since it was new and and have spent many a mile following it's tail lights through out the North East, I jumped at the chance to obtain it.

Good by for now, I am sure I will have some dumb questions from you all in the future

    Thanks :mg:
