  1. I finally got around to replacing the tires and the wobble went away. I also found that the rear axle (spindle) nute was not tightened to spec. For now, I'll assume that the problem was tire related. Thanks. for the assistance. Scott
  2. Thanks everyone. I agree, the obvious solution is not to take one's hands off the bars. Tires are Conti Force - again, this is the first I noticed this issue in 3000 miles on these tires. Perhaps the front has cupped enough to now start doing this. I'll check the other items as well (loose engine bolts, bearings, adjusting tire pressue), but I happened to have coindidentally ordered new tires before I left on this last trip so hopefully I'll resolve this one way or another. Thanks again and I'll post with an update once I get back into the shop. Scott
  3. Good day, This past weekend I noticed a wobble at 45mph on my 2002 Lemans. It only occurs if I remove my hands from the bars. The ocsillation increases in amplitude, but can be stopped by replacing my hands. This does not occur at 40 or less or 50 and above. The bike is solid at all other speeds. With hands on the bars at 45 I can feel a little more vibration, but only because I started looking to feel for it. The tires have 3k miles on them and this is the first I've noticed the problem. Tire pressure was fine. So I am thinking to check ft wheel bearings, stearing head bearings, and swing arm bearings. What am I missing? Any suggestions or advice is appreciated. Scott
  4. No pins. The previous owner had fitted handlebars with risers and clamps (drilled the triple clamp and fitted the risers). The handlebars are 22mm just as the original clip ons and Verlicchis, but do not have a hole for a locating pin. If I put the switchgear back on the handlebars, its loose. I can't figure out how the switch gear was held in place on the handlebars with no locating pin and hole...the ID of the switch assembly is greated than the OD of any of the bars. Thanks for your help. Scott
  5. Hi Folks, I am in the process of fitting Verlicchi adjustable clip ons to my 02 Lemans. I have everything back together, but the left and right side switchgear assembly houseings are loose on the bars. The Verlicchi bars and orginal bars have the same OD. I didn't see any shims or perches when I removed the switchgear...just two screws holding the houseing halves together. What am I missing here? How are the switchgear assemblies held in place on the bars? Thanks. Scott
  6. The Verlicchi bars do fit the '02. They mounted under the triple clamp. Thanks for your help. Scott
  7. Checking for a change in triple tree or clip on part numbers between 02 and 03 would seem to answer the question. Any suggestions for web based parts manuals? I can also measure my '02 upper fork diameter - can anyone give me the '03 upper fork diameter for comparison? I think both '02 and '03 had stock clipons that mounted above the triple tree...is that correct? Thanks a bunch. Scott
  8. Hi folks, Will a set of Verlicchi adjustable clipons taken from an '03 Lemans fit on an '02 Lemans? Thanks. Scott
