You chaps dream big!  I’m feeling the need to put restrictions on monetary values here...  We already have a thread about ‘dweam bikes wot i’d wuv to have pwease!’  (GIVE ME A MGS01 LORD)

I’m talking about relatively cheap bikes guys.  Bikes that there’s no reason not to have (bar the space). Praps under the five thousand mark..?

Okaaay;  perhaps this one is a more appropriate choice then (my first motorcycle, which I still regret crashing....)

Dang! I've had the pump outlet pipe break off once when trying to move some wiring out of the way...

Ouch; unless somebody can fix the broken pipe, this is a big issue (had the same issue a couple of years ago and managed to find a second hand fuel pump... these things cost a fortune).

    16 years!!!

The Odyssey PC545 is the OEM battery. Why not just get another?

Thanks a lot. docc  Your suggestion makes a lot of sense. After all those years I was. however, thinking something in the sense of: "Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability..... Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster." . Perhaps this does not apply to the battery for my Rosso:huh:

  4. Ciao,

After 16 years (!) my OEM Hawker battery seems to have given up. I saw on the forum that some of you have replaced the Hawker with the Odyssey PC545, whereas I have also seen recommendations elsewhere for the Unibat X Racer 15. I ride my Rosso Corsa two/three times a year during longer summer trips; the rest of the time she hibernates in a cozy garage, battery disconnected. Thanks a lot.

I just bought my 2004 Rosso Corsa with under 2K on the odometer.  I love V-twins and have always like the Guzzi LeMans, so finding this was perfect.  The styling of today's bikes doesn't appeal to me much and this bike really is a beauty. I really like the sport-touring set-up and the premium suspension. Thinking I may lower the foot pegs and someday replace the cans with proper reverse cone mufflers.  For now I plan to remove the bag racks and ride it!

A bit of a belated reaction, but, judging by the colors, this beauty does not look like a Rosso Corsa (even if it has the Ohlins front fork).

  6. Sorry to read about your mishaps. I took my Rossa several times on similar trips; only problems (so far :race:): several speedo cables; one rear view mirror that fell off on the Autobahn. I would think that your brake problem is highly unusual. Even during race track use, one can rely on the brakes. I still hope that you enjoyed your trip!

I'm inclined to agree with you here. I have a friend who put his wife through nursing school and bought her a great set of fake boobs...she left him six months later armed with a new career path and fresh paint.

I think the takeaway here should be NOT to sell the bike.

:oldgit: I doubt whether Kipling would ever have approved of b. jobs (or similar practices)
