  1. I proclaimed to a buddy of mine what a fit bike and exceptional luck I have had with my 2000 V11 Sport while perusing the used stuff coming in down at BMW for their weekend deal they have going. Feeling great with the perfect PNW weather I climbed on and started on my way home. Took a side detour to my In Laws place to look over some computer problems and on arriving noticed my breather on the rear drive unit leaking a bit of fluid. My spirits sunk. I just had the rear wheel off this past spring in anticipation of the season and a new set of tires. Did the cush drive mod, lubed the bearings and all that. I realize the breather is doing its job here but I am a bit concerned. Would this be indicative of a larger problem or am I being a ninny? I have not noticed any leakage in the past and I look the bike over pretty well from time to time. This is a pretty good flow of redline I have going here.
  2. Great timing for this; I performed this modification about 5 weeks ago and the difference was quite noticeable the first twist of the throttle. Better yet the compression braking shouldn't take such a toll now. I was wondering at the time when a maintenance thread or update to the original would pop up as I was a bit apprehensive removing half the pucks and drilling (with utmost precision mind you) the remainder. I have to give a hearty thanks to all you Gents who have made this site what it is. I have spent hours here reading and researching the trouble spots on my 2000 v11 and the wealth of knowledge is impressive.

    MPG...

    I recently swapped out my tires, intake boots and adjusted valves to .006 .010 and the first tank averaged 28 MPG. I had a very tight exhaust valve that apparently the last gent to set them overlooked when wrenching them down. They were previously set to .004 .006 from what I could tell and the performance gain has been significant not to mention the nice tappet sound is consistent finally. Now if I could just keep my hand out of it I'd probably get back to the 35 or so I was seeing before. Then again I didn't have mileage in mind whatsoever when I bought her so if she averages better than my truck I am doing my part for the greenies.
  4. A few more pictures to give a better perspective;
  5. I put a set of Renthal Fatbars on mine using the Balabio risers I was able to source through MotoInt and I would say they probably moved the bars back 2" and up somewhere around 3" or so. Enough that I am sitting upright and not with weight forward. I can take a few more detailed pics and post them up later. I was able to get around buying new cable and brake line just by a hair. It has made a tremendous difference for me and makes long rides far more enjoyable. At the same time I had it down I did the cush drive modification Greg posted and it is a huge difference as well. Great forum you guys have here. I've spent quite a bit of time lurking and trying to soak up as much as possible.
