  1. If possible I would meet them in a big empty parking lot to give them a chance to ride it around or if you have a seond bike ride a few miles with them. You might also want to talk to your insurance company to make sure that both bike and passenger are covered in case soemthing bad would happen.

  2. Anyone have an accurate wiring diagram for a 2000 V11 Sport in electronic format? I could use one to try to track down my blown fuse problem. I dont havea Yahoo account so cant download the one provided in one of the other forums.

    Thanks,

  3. Last week I posted that my V11 Sport died while riding. I did mention that I checked the fuses and they were OK. Well they were not OK. Once I had a chance to do the once over before I ordered a new fuel pump I pulled the fuses again and "low and behold" fuse #1 (ECU) had blown. I guess good lighting and my glasses may have saved me $300. The weird thing is that that fuse is supposed to be a 5A but it was a 10A. I dont ever remember changing a fuse on this bike. I put in a new 5A fuse and she started right up.

Other than adding some fuses to my tool kit... any suggestions on what might have caused it to blow?

    Thanks,

Ok - time to start worring. I took the bike out after replacing the blown fuse with a 5A fuse. Road her for about 20 mins and she dies. Fuse 1 was blown. Replaced it with a spare and it blows. Put a 10A in and she blows that as well. Put a 30 in (all I had left and I limped the 3 miles home. Any suggestions on where to start to look?

  5. @ Jim from Dublin-Ohio

I have a similar V11 SPORT (made 2000), and my fuel pump died at 25,000km.

Find out if your pump is dead:

    1. Remove the tank (and disconnect the 2 fuel hoses and one electroc connector before), then see the pump fixed to the frame with 2 brackets.

    2. Take a volt meter and measure if the fuel pump is on 12 Volts, when you turn the ignition key.

    3. If ther are 12V, but the pump does not sound ==> replace pump.

Originally, it is a PIERBURG pump, but BOSCH offers a suitable replacement

See my corresponding article (Sorry - German language)

I mention the spare part numbers and the catalogues at the end of this article.

    regards -Martin-

The pump does not make a sound and everything else seems ok. I think it might be a dead pump?

  6. Hi Jim:

Try moving the bars from left to right as you hit the starter button... it has happened to me, ended up being a loose connection in the wiring on the left side of the frame. I had to take the tank off, straignten out the wires to give a bit more slack around the head tube.

    Andrew

    PS I PM'd you

If its that easy Im going to kick myself. I'll give it a try. Was the fuel pump on when you did this?

  7. Had the V11 out last night and all of the sudden the engine died like it ran out of gas. Pulled to the side of the road and tried to re-start - everything looked OK but no weird Guzzi noise from the fuel pump. It tried to start but didnt appear to be getting any gas. I checked the gas tank and we have gas. Played around in with the relays and checked the fuse and all appears well. Do I just have a dead fuel pump or could soetihng else cause the fuel pump not to engage. Any help would be appreciated?

    Thanks,

  8. Yes, I did the relay repalcement to Bosch when I first got the bike. I just pulled the 1st relay (Front to Back) and its a Bosch 28311 (332 207 307) 12v. The other relays are 28310s. Maybe I have a flaky relay but I did notice the relay bracket moves around a lot, espically the first two relay slots. I think I will try new relays per Dan. If that doesnt work..... Thanks for all your replys.

  9. This started recently and Im not sure where to start looking. When I turn the key on to start the bike the lights for the speedo and tach come on and sometimes the oil light. The headlight, horn, tach and other dash lights do not work except for the turn signal indicator lights on the dash The actual turn signals do work all the time. All of the sudden the tach will start working the everthing else is also working (headlamp, horn, etc...). If I shut off the bike after everythig is working it will go back to just the turnsignals and neutral indicators - then after sometime it will all work again then shut down again. Any suggestions on where to start.

  10. I'm selling my LA Chock. This thing is great for working on bikes w/o a center stand. You can roll it up onto the chock and it will grab your front wheel - making this a one man operation. It can also be bolted to your trailer and makes loading and unloading a one man job. Here is a URL for the one that I have: http://www.bikervillage.com/bikervillagemall/LA%20Chock.asp

You can also check Baxley Trailer at http://www.baxleycompanies.com/LAChock.html

I've used it for my RT, LT and Guzzi's. I paid $350 (included shipping). Im selling it for $225 (shipping is extra - Its heavy). Let me know if your interested. It would be better if its someone local.

    Thanks,

  11. FYI-

Took my bike in 2 weeks ago and got a call back from my dealer that the bike is fixed. Of course it just snowed last night so I dont know when I can pick it up. Any body get their bike back yet?

  12. OK, so I remove headlight, take off clips, remove the glass and pull out the piece of crap "thingy" that broke off. I have a small "smiley face" of warn off silver refective material inside the light. No problem. Then reassembly!! I spent hours on that thing yesterday trying to get the clips back on and I've got to be doing something wrong. I can get a few on one side - then the other side wont clip in. One hear and one there but not even close to being tight enough. Is ther some secret to this thing that Im missing. Im getting ready to replace the whole thing - too much good riding weather Im missing!!

Thanks for all your help on this - I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

  13. So are you saying that you have to completely remove the philips head screw? That was my assumption and it the screw is where Im having the problem. I can only remove the screw to a certain point. At that point the square metal nut doesnt go any further. I dont want to strip the screw. If you dont have to remove the screw all the way - sounds like this is going to be easy. Can someone confirm the screw removal?

    Thanks,

    Jim

  14. Need some help. The little metal reflector that sits inside the headlight has fallen off- again and is rattling inside my headlight. The last 3 times that this has happened I had the whole headlight replaced under warranty. I dont think Im going to get away with it this time.

I can remove the headlight but cant seem to figure out an easy way to get to the inside of the headlight. There is a small phillips head screw that loosens so you can remove the headlamp off the bike. Once off the bike you have to completely remove the the screw that is held on with a square nut that seems to be unremoveable without trashing either the screw or the nut. Once that happens there is a wire mesh that secures the reflecter to the glass lens. I dont even have a clue as to how to get that off or get it back on.

Anyone done this before? Any suggestions would be great!!! Dont want to trash the whole thing if I dont have to.

    Thanks,

    Jim
