  1. Correct sorry for the typo. Shift into first, tighten the switch until you get continuity to ground. Then check that shifting back to neutral opens the connection to ground
  2. I couldn't find the torque spec for the neutral switch although I did find a warning of the importance of the correct torque. I ended up putting the bike in first gear, installing the switch with a fresh crush washer and tightening it 1/6 turn at a time until my ohmmeter showed no continuity between the switch terminal and the switch body. Shifting back into first made the terminal short to the ground so I'm optimistic. Andrew in Ann Arbor

  4. As a result of a close call last year the fairing on my Moto Guzzi has a crack I'd like to repair. The fairing material melts (so it's not epoxy or polyester resin) and it's marked PP so I'm thinking it's polypropylene. This means my usual WEST epoxy repair plan is no good since polypropylene doesn't glue well. Apparently plastic welding is the preferred method so any suggestions on tools and techniques would be appreciated. I love to learn new things but not sure I want to learn on something this pretty.... Andrew in Ann Arbor 2002 V11 LeMans 1981 Moto Morini 500
  5. I've got the motobit's controls and quite pleased with them. Here's the link Finally got the rear wheel bearing spacer sorted when I had a near miss with a left turning car. I did manage to miss the car but somehow still ended up sliding through the intersection on the right side taking out the turn signal, mirror and the cool Moto Bits foot controls. Brent (at Moto-bits) commented that the plate that mounts the controls had bent before the forces got large enough to break the "pork chop" frame casting which would be much more expensive to replace. Brent's got a replacement foot control set on the way and Larry Cline has got the turn signal and plug cap. He's got a line on a mirror but it's $90 so I'm looking for a more affordable one. Here's the "after" picture of the brake lever. Note that the peg kept the exhaust from hitting the pavement. Andrew in Ann Arbor 6' 4" 36 inseam
  6. I've found a 2002 V11 Lemans about 4 hours away. It looks really nice but I'm wondering if a 6'4" (193 cm) tall guy with a 36" (91 cm) inseam would fit. Mostly I'm wondering if my knee will fit into that nicely sculpted recess in the tank. Any tall Le mans riders out there? Andrew in Ann Arbor aklist04 at gmail com
