  1. I have wanted to attend Just need things to line up
  2. The final edition... Ran all the positive and negative wires to 2 terminal boards and 1 12ga wire from the terminal boards to the battery. I am waiting on some stainless top to side terminal adapters to complete the battery change. comments? Also replaced relays with new picker and the 6th relay was for the startus interuptus kit from MPH.
  3. The Motogadget M-unit is a fully digital wiring system for custom bikes. its a GREAT product but i have no issues with my bikes wiring to the point it would require an entire new harness. My intent was to just tidy up the battery connections and make it a little more robust. But what is wrong with the ECU case ground as is... please explain.
  4. the ground to the ECU is the original ground... may i ask why? Never read any thing wrong with the ECU case ground!?!
  5. Still have to fab up positive and negative wires from the terminal strips to the battery... and velcro strips so the terminal strips do not move. But I will have only 2 connections to each battery terminal. No stock wiring had to be altered in any way for this to work. Comments? Also, I am going to run the batterytender harness off the starter terminals to keep it clean. New PC545 with brass L brackets will go in when done.
  6. So after looking at my V11s wiring... I have 2 terminal strips that would fit perfectly where the tool kit tray is. What if i left the starter positive and the ground that goes to the back of the transmission case alone and mounted to the battery as is ... Ran the 4 other positives to a terminal strip and one from the terminal strip to the battery. Then did the same for the negatives but instead of a wire to the battery negative, ran the one negative from the terminal strip to another transmission or engine case bolt. Leaving 2 positive and 1 negative to hook up to the battery. The associated wiring looks like there is enough slack to do it right and not a kluge. your thoughts?
  7. So the Motobatt battery worked nicely but is a half inch too tall... hits the seat. Bike started very easily and when warmed up at 1000 rpm 12.6V, at 2000-3000 rpm 13.7V. Turned the idle up a little to 1100 and now 13.3V at idle, 13.7V at 2000-3000 rpm. So now i am getting a PC545 that i know will fit and I found some 4 terminal bus bars that i will try and make work to clean up the ridiculous amount oF connections for each battery. Also at the recommendation of DOCC, i replaced all six relays with Picker 30A relays... I have the sixth relay for startus interuptus. My voltages, to me, look spot on for a healthy REGULATED charging system. I will report the voltages with the PC545.
  8. So... The Motobatt does not fit Too wide front to back and hits the seat So Odyssey pc545 on the way
  9. hey DOCC... what busbars are they?
  10. Whoever at Moto Guzzi that designed the wire harness and thought multiple pos and neg wires to the battery was a GREAT idea should be made to remove and install a battery on a V11 for 10 years straight. What a complete joke for a bike made in 2004. No wonder these bikes have so many troublesome elec problems. Got to be a better way... rant over.
  11. i am looking for a slightly taller windscreen for my 2004 V11 Cafe Sport. i always thought that the Scura and the V11 Cafe Sport had the same fairing... my windscreen has 5 holes, the Scura has 6?!?!
  12. Like anything mechanical... it will break at the absolute worse moment if not maintained
  13. Also checked the 30A fuse... It was perfect with no degrading whatsoever. I will share results when new battery, and relays are installed
  14. DOH!!! THNX DOCC LOL
  15. its just a motorcycle... nothing exotic about this bikes charging system at all. Regular charging system, just like thousands of other bikes out there. Stator output, regulator output, condition of wiring and connectors, relays etc... its a 22 year old bike with a 6 year old battery... this is more preventive maintenance than anything. I have 9 other bikes in the garage that i get 4-5 years out of each battery using the nefarious (LOL) Deltran Battery Tender and will NOT be using a PC545 battery because of its "unique" charging needs... and i STILL got 6 years out of it LOL New relays and Motobatt MBTX12U on the way....
