  1. After about 800 miles my front cover began leaking badly. I am refering to the cover that is on the front of the engine that actually bolts to the engine block, not the small alternator cover. On the right hand side just below were the frame/engine bolt is, a small piece of gasket actually disappeared causing almost an oil spray when the bike was running. The dealer was happy to replace the gasket and explained that it was due to the engine paint wearing out under the bolt heads (cover bolts that is), thus causing the bolt to loose just enough tension to allow a leak. They also placed lock washers on all of the front cover bolts to keep this from happening in the future. Well 2800 miles today and I noticed a small oil film in the same area. Any one else had a similar problem. I would hate to have to go through a case relpacement because of a poor gasket surface.
  2. I contacted Corbin. They were uninterested. The seem to only want to produce the "gunfighter." Thanks though.
  3. My Scura also pings, sometimes loudly. I raised the fuel pressure by 10 psi and the pings are almost completely gone. (It was running very lean at 3500+ and 3/4 to WOT throttle settings) The increase in fuel pressure has not even reduced my fuel mileage noticably, suprisingly. I would prefer to have gotten a PC III but this will have to do for now. The bike is bone stock.
  4. I am looking for a seat that has a fold up pillion. I saw one once on a VFR, but I do not remember who made it. With the "sissy bar" laying down it looked like a solo seat with a hard cowl, like the Scura's seat with its cover. When you pressed the locking pin the cowl would rotate back exposing a pass. seat with a padded "sissy bar." Very cool. I am looking for either the company that orginally made a seat like this or someone who would be willing to tackle it.
  5. I drilled a small hole on the tapered end of the retaining pin so that a small R-clip could be used. Between that and the tension of the internal locking clip the pin it will not go anywhere. Thanks for your concern.
  6. I found that removing the pad tension spring, (the small spring with two pins attached that rides under the retaining pin,) solved almost all of the noise. The springs pins are tapered on my scura and were causing the pads to pinch the rotor at the base of the pad.
