  1. DeBenguzzi spake-

you ppl are so old, best album ever is "Nevermind" by Nirvana, I actually like "Unplugged, live in New York" a little better but what can I say.

Nirvana kicked ass,yes they did, but the best part of "Unplugged" was Kurt & Chris' of the Meat Puppets backing up Kurt Cobain,a la "Sea of Fire".

Getting/being old is a bitch but you can get a better perspective on most things, such as music with more appreciation for the truly innovative when you've got a larger framework to deal with. I'm on the same page with Jihem, now this cat really knows his music :rasta: . And yes,Jihem,i'm in total agreement with you on Todd Rundgren,he is/was a "wizard,a true star". Caught him a few times in the 70's during the "Utopia" era.

His drummer,Hunt Sales, was a neighbor of mine until he recently moved to Nashville :huh2:

yes, the equipment was scarce and congrats and all...Still, they were chasing behind 'Pet Sounds' and a few other amazing people were experimenting a lot with audio at the times. That doesn't diminish their creativity or the immense gift they did to music, but i think they just weren't alone doing exciting stuff.

At the same time,in the next door studios @ EMI,Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd were recording Pipers at the Gates of Dawn. Sgt. Peppers pales in comparison IMHO :rasta:

Hats off to 1967....Summer of Love

  3. Ya' gotta love the Atlanta police dept. Back in the '70s I was riding down Spring St.(the wrong way)and a cop pulled me over...no ticket. A few years later I was at the dentist and for some reason the local anesthetic would not take hold. The dentist kept jacking my jaw up with anesthetic(5 shots) until I finally went numb...real numb! After I was out of the chair and driving home a cop pulls me over for what, I can't remember, but I almost went to jail for DUI 'cause I was slurring my speech. Fortunately, my girlfriend was w/me and could explain wuzzup' and the cops had a good laugh and let me go. I love the Atlanta cops, at least did back then, and I'm not partial to cops! :bier:

  4. Quote from Jaap

"What an absolute brilliant documentary! Britten's passion and perseverance are amazing. And the sound of the V1000... that alone is worth buying it."

Yes,but Jaap...have you ever witnessed the beast in it's element? I watched(in amazement)the Britten team w/Andrew Stroud astride, annihilate the competetion of Battle of the Twins @ Daytona in '95 and the same happened in '99 with Lex riding the Team New Zealand Britten. To be in the "hot pits" with the Britten was an honor in itself, still rumbling restlessly deep in my memory banks.

  5. This is beautiful Ouiji....Just because it looks like a duck,quacks like a duck,flies like a duck(temporarily) that

doesn't make it a duck. Just because Ural/Dnepr/Cossack/Chinese fascimile has opposed cylinder like a BMW airhead, well, the similarities stop there. Great reading though. The guys either a loon or a glutton for punishment!
