  1. Hi folks, can someone tell me how many lamps come on when your V11 has its ignition turned on..

My V11 Le-mans has the dash stripped and the speedo away for the usual not clocking up the miles problem and now when assembled the only lamps that come on are the oil and neutral, i cant remember if the ignition and low fuel lamps did in the past but you would think they should to test the bulbs!

Tested all bulbs and all is well...

  2. My Griso has the full system from Todd; PCV, Autotune, and open airbox lid.

I am happy with it as well.

Setup is key, but it seems that some Guzzi's run better then others, or some people are less picky then others, or some combination thereof.

The wife's V11 has a Power Commander and it runs well, but I managed to lose the original custom map it had and it has never been quite as good since.

Im not really interested in putting the Guzzi on a rolling road to squeeze every last BHP from the big girl, just as long as she runs fine and Todd cured all that....

  3. My 2004 V11 Le-Mans had the usual Guzzi cough and stuttered and stammered around 2500 rpm so bought a Power Commander from Todd at Guzzi Tech. The PC arrived with a map Todd had installed after i told him of the bikes mods...K+N air filter, Mistral end cans and modded air box. I set the valve clearances and balanced the throttle bodies before hand. Plugged in the PC and an adapter for the lambda probe and heypresto!!! Instant cure to all my woes.. The bike runs smoothly now with no cough or stutter at all, also pulls very cleanly up to the red line instead of running out of breath about 7000rpm. So now my black Italian babe not only looks fantastic, sounds superb and goes like shit of a highly polished chrome shovel...

    Thanks Todd..

  4. Just asking this question on his forum would be a good start.....

There, you can also PM him. He does go off on trips (I think he rides....) now and then and may have limited internet access for now.

    Thanks for the reply......

  5. And "factory" is: 0,15mm Intake/ 0,20mm Exhaust (0.006"/0.008") ? :huh2:

    (Just to clarify . . .)

I have a 2004 V11 Le-mans with a K+N air filter and a pair of Mistral slip ons, the bike has the usual V11 cough down low and stammers around 2500 to 3000 revs. Would you know if a Power Commander is available for my model as Dyno Jet dont appear to list one for a bike of my age!!

    Many thanks in advance.

    Martin..

  6. mine does that too and it IS the clutch.

The noise comes from the gearbox and not the clutch...

Relax. Some are convinced it is the clutch. I have not been able to change their minds. But the important thing is the noise is NORMAL.

Use a quality gear oil, I use Redline shockproof but there are many options, and the noise will be less. As Pete said, make sure the throttle bodies are sync'd, that will also reduce the noise. And keep the idle above 1100. With mine a small increase in rpm has a large effect on reducing the noise.

Hi, i have ballanced the throttle bodys and use the recommend gearbox oil but might try the redline shock proof. A crackin bike all the same..

  7. Sorry chaps but that was the first thing i thought of but it aint the clutch, when the bike is cold the rattle isn't there plus when you pull the clutch in the rattle clears as the gear box stops turning but you can hear the clutch jingling, the rattle is defiantly coming from the gear box, i have put a stethoscope to it and its in the bag, the gear box is silky smooth mind..

  8. Hi folks, i recently bought a 2004 Le Mans with 4500 miles on the big girl. This is my first wander into the land of Guzzi's so was not sure what to expect but always knew i wanted a Guzzi of some sorts.

What i have noticed about my Guzzi is at tick over when warm the gear box makes abit of a racket, clunking and clattering and gettin on!!  I have watched a few youtube clips of V11's and some appear to make the same rattle!!

I was wondering if this is par for the course or can it be fixed??

Regardless of the rattle i love the big girl, i put a pair of Mistral cans and a K+N filter and she sounds fantastic. I have a garage full of bikes, SP1 Honda, ZX10 Kawasaki and a raft of other Jap gear but they just don't have the character of the big Italian.

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

    Martin..
