GuzzTim
Gang this appeared after washing the bike, so I'm immediately suspecting water in a connection.. but thought I'd throw it out there. Started the bike, and all the idiot lights went out except the oil light.. Shut it down, and restarted but the light remained on... So before I clean connections etc.. any other things to watch out for? Thanks, Tim

antonio carroccio
YES!!! You strictly have to check the pressure valve!!! If this valve can’t find any pressure, you will get the same problem I have had. …I was walking on the highway in Deutschland
GuzzTim
must have just been the water... just started it and the light goes off... I'll keep an eye on it for awhile.. Thanks for the feedback Cheers, Tim
robbiekb
I had this problem with my 2001 V11 up in rainy Seattle. After a torrential downpour the oil light came on and stayed on. The diagnosis at Moto international was a busted sensor.
jrt
Yep, they will get water in them and short out....or often times they'll just short out. It's rare that the oil pump fails. However- There have been cases where it has. Arbi's green V11 sport comes to mind. I had guessed it was just the sensor, but fortunately he didn't believe me or anybody else who suggested that. I ate crow that day. Bottom line- it's not worth the risk- check your oil pressure if the light comes on. J
