Navy life and motorcycles.....

Picked up an '00 Le Mans back in September from Ride West BMW. She'd been a trade in with only 600 mi on her and I'd always wanted to ride a Guzzi. Well after the test ride I found my self goin over my bills in my head to see if I could swing the $9000 bucks to get her. 8 hr later I was screaming down I5 on Aphreal. Life was good.

Unfortunitly soon after that my ship went out to sea for a month or two and by the time I got back I only had about a month of riding left in the sesson. On top of that I had to start gettin my life ready to transfer over to sicily for a few years. I hate winter in the north west.

In the mean time though I have managed to fix a few things on the girl. First thing I did was the brake in maintance about the middle of october and found out that these bikes are REALLY fun to work on. A lot easier then my Jap bikes are. After that it was the TPS and most resently the choke spring.

Anyway, better stop rambling. Looking forward to riding in Sicily. I anyone knows of a good roads over thier let me know.

Thanks

Z

Jim,

During the geography lesson, you always were behind the wall between the men’s toilet and the changing room for girls at the gymnastic depart, looking through a little hole the lady’s in there.

The teacher in the meantime was telling that Lesbos a little island of Greece is in the neighbour of Greece of course.

I hope you know where does the name “Vancouver” come from?

...town took its name from the British explorer Captain George Vancouver, who spent all of a single day on the site in 1792.

Van --- before at front

cou ---- french for neck ( on free translation . com )

er --- some one who does

so therefore someone who does before a neck - we're not being rude are we?

Tex should be able to translate this one. He is the "neck" specialist!

A bit off subject,Martin Barrett but I noticed you owned a FJ 1200. I bought a new FJ 1100 in '84 and thought it was the greatest bike in the world. Rode it for 13 years from Alaska to Cabo San Lucas and everywhere in between. Once the damn tail light burn out in in Utah. I,ll never own another Japbike. Cheap things, anyway. There ought to be a law. I think I'll sue somebody. "CHEERS" Roadslayer. :drink:

Hi,

disembarked my vessel in augusta in august last year and had to fly from catania to amsterdam - augusta- catania was about 2 hours drive (italian style)

There are no good roads on Sicily - ( that is , the deck isn't much good) - on the other hand there is not one road straight and personally I would love to drive overthere - full of twisties and nice hills, impossible to get lost - just head for the sea and follow the coastal freeway.

Food is great - be carefull with the ladies though, I heard the men still carry their "lupo" (small shotgun).

And carefull with speeding - even mr Enzo wouldn't talk himself out of a speeding ticket given by an sicillian cop. :homer:

have fun :bier::bike:

ciao
