OK. Is the small box just in front of the rear wheel with all the hoses going into it some sort of carbon canister for california emissions control? Has anyone tried to take if off? If so, what is the best way to remove it? I don't live in CA and I don't want the ugly thing if it can be removed.

when you take the can off -- you might want to think about leaving the plate bracket to help prevent debris from the rear tire flying up into the tranny area....
