low pressure oil light

Recommended Posts

went on a 2 week trip and 4 days of rain.

on day 1 the low pressure oil light came on for 2 minutes

day 2 came on .i checked the oil and restarted and light off

same happened 3 times later.

day 3 light on and i kept riding for 15 minutes .stopped and light off.

is it possible that the rain had something to do with this ?

has not come back on after it stopped rainning

your ideas please.

also ,because i was riding with a slow rider i had to ride slow and kept the rpm's at 3200 to 3800.

all fine until at one point the engine started to vibrate hard.and the exhaust sounded like an AK47 i supposed it was firing on one cylinder.

have been told that the engine may be running rich and fgouled up a spark plug ???

and ,got 32 to34 mpg for mos of the trip

at one point got 40 mpg.

later i kept the rpm's at over 4,000 rpm except when on the turnpike and did go to 3500 rpm,s for a while but all ok.

any thougfhts on this one ?

thank you

fernando

Personally I think you are right about the wet electrics to explain both the oil pressure light and the misfiring. I don't think there's anything serious wrong with your bike.

Suggest you take the connectors apart, give them a clean, and put them back together with some vaseline or grease in there to repel water in future.
