Anyone had anything to do with them opions good bad ugly? Could you use it on the street or the engine ends up running such a high compression it will quiet happily run on desiel witht he sparkplugs disconnected and you need to use two stroke rpm to get the bike to crawl away from the lights.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

The stuff comming out of Ghezzi-Brian is top notch,

real nice finish and well thought out. So in that

department you wont have to worrie.

With the Cams, Valves, Connecting Rods (piston-rods)

and there PC replacement you'd be fine on the street.

I'm sure you might have to do some custom mapping (PCIII)

due to what exhaust, air pods, exc... You have. But in general you'll have

a bike that'll rev faster (lighter rods), breath better (top-end wise)

and a beefer BHP/Torque curve. All plus's for certain kinds of guys

and riding styles.

Now with Pistons. The pistons are what well make or break your

bike -- street wise. Because it all comes down to how much compression

your pistons are. Up to about 11.5 to 1. is fine for the street and good old

pump fuel. And on the v11 (540lbs) you don't have to worry about

engine breaking due to the high comps. Now if go with anything

higher, like 12.0 to 1. your going to need to use race fuel, or you'll

continue to hear a pinging sound when your riding and one day (shortly)

you'll melt a hole right through her beautiful piston's.

Over all, its a great kit/offer. But find out what comp. there at.

Or if they have different comp. pistons: 11.1, 11.5

I prefer the 11.1's for the street, great torque and BHP, yet doesn't

matter where or what kinf of gas I get. And thats a big bonus.

I have an old 76 Lemans thats so "hot" engine wise, she can't run on anything less

than 50% race (110) and 50% pump. Pain in the but, and limits

where I can go on her.

Peace, rubber side down,

Murray,

Jedione here.

I forgot to mention, you should talk to

Mike Stewart as well. I'm sure you can

find him in the v11 dir. forum. He's had some

Ghezzi sandle time and a good Hot-Rodder.

Peace

Thanks just about given up on a reply to this one. We'll see what the compression test/leak down test says when it goes in for its 100 000 service which is only 4000 away. I don't think a PC will help my bike its got some dirty great 41.5mm FCR'S which I am sure can be rejetted to suit though :D

That's some serious miles, good man!

Ya, if your using "Good Old" carbs (41.5's... NICE)

you'll be fine. Only have to worry about the PC's with F.I.

On my old Lemans I have a nice set of 41 mm Delorto's.

Any ways, I talked to Mike, told him to track ya down on

further insight to the Ghezzi-Brian stuff first hand.

I just went to the Ghezzi-Brian site and this is what the "Tuning kit" consist of:

POWER TUNING KIT

Power tuning kit “Ghezzi-Brian racing “ for MotoGuzzi V11 –1100 Sport

Cod.210090001

• Forged pistons

• Rods

• Valves,springs

• Camshaft

• Specific electronic unit

It doesn't say if the pistons are high compression or not. I would think it would be bumped up slightly, I would be interested in what cam they use. A dyno graph would be nice to see if there is much power made. Any idea what the kit goes for?

Not at them moment the local dealer has a pretty good relationship with them I might get him to find out. The carbs are ont he bike because mine was a carbed 1100 sport to begin with. I still think fuel injection is better see my consumption figures int he Bridgestone tyre thread.

Mike,

Thanks for picking up this thread.

I wasn't sure of the COMP either. But I figured you'd be able to

help out the most. Hay, by the way, does your Super Twin have a

Hrdro or manuel Clutch??? I'd like to know if this is a hard thing to

convert later on down the road.

Jedione,

The Ghezzi Brian Super Twin uses a manuel clutch. The pull isn't too bad, I have thought of replacing it with an hydrolic unit, perhaps down the road. I want to get the trans shifting fixed first, I am having a problem going from 3rd to 4th. Seem to hit a false neutral while at the track way too many times.

Mike,

I started a tread about adding a Hydo to the G.B., since I'm shopping

for one and kind of want to have a heads up / parts bin waiting.

I had the chance to pull in the clutch on one at the rally, made me

relize how spoiled the v11 is making me compared to my old Lemans.

I'm going to ask Tood E. this weekend about the Hydo system, he has it

on his Cali.

On the tranny (3 to 4th), I'm not sure which one they put in the G.B.

My old 76 Lemans ( 5 speed, which has alot of 1100 Sport parts in it now)

if I at all shift "Half Heartly" or to lightly all get that same false neutral.

And nail red line... Ouch! Doesn't happen to often in the twisties,

but all the time around town or on the highway. It really buggs me

around town, cause it makes me feel like a "Jerk" reving like that.

I don't know if its a design flaw or if something in there has just worn out.

Let me know how you end up solving it, I'm all game. I'm getting

ready to rebuild my Lemans engine this winter (like we have them in So.Cal.)

and I could do that at the same time.

On the G.B. is it possible to get replacement bodywork, just curious?

Peace,

Jedione68

MG Cycle's Hydraulic Clutch Conversion for 5 Speeds at guzzitech.com

Hydraclutch.jpg

Although the article refers to the MG Cycle site, I didn't find the clutch remote actuator anywhere on that site. The unit itself is probably this one:

It looks like it's made in Germany by RedBee Products.de.
