jihem
just got back from a totally soaked 150 kms trip to a Fuchs bench with my STW 1100 (level 2 ecu ands exhausts). I wanted to see exact numbers before getting down and add a few HP here and there...(maybe). the numbers are disappointing, only 71 Hp at the back wheel and the 9 mkg torque is at...4270 rpm..., and i don't know exactly how i should read all this. to start with, the bench guy didn't of course have GB in his machine, so he took the 1100 sport numbers (same gearbox). Somehow, his machine wouldn't give proper readings and he had to redo it a couple of times. Needless to say they don't do twins nor guzzi (it's a multi marques place). what's really strange is the torque curve...overall number is good, but it's way down the curve... what's really strange (2) is while the 87 HP (crankshaft) is very low at the wheel (71 HP), i have yet to encounter a V11 which is faster than the STW in pure acceleration and overall speed... it's odd as the bike goes really well, pings once in a while, doesn't stall, accept every invitation to accelerate, has great braking power, etc.. what do you guys made out of that ? Guest ratchethack
Torque peak at 4300 RPM and very close to it at 3700 RPM?!?! I simply can't believe it........
Guest Nogbad
My utterly bog standard V11 Sport made 72 rwhp on Max Moto's dyno and I haven't got any mods. Standard airbox, standard ECU and standard exhausts. I'll try and find the printout.
jihem
i know...it's very odd. the numbers are very low, but the bike goes like a bullet...

Guzzirider
Numbers mean nothing be they high or low- if you are happy with the way it goes that is the important thing! Guy
jihem
Numbers mean nothing be they high or low- if you are happy with the way it goes that is the important thing! 90367[/snapback] i aggree, but as I want to start work on the engine, i need to know where we are so far. and i'm not sure the numbers are really correct, cos the bike feels and seem faster than the numbers on the bench. yes, it's lighter than a normal V11. which could be ok for an explanation on its relative speed and acceleration. But if the engine hasn't been touched and is "graced" with freer (race) exhausts and EVR eprom, it should at least make more than a stock V11, no ? i'm puzzled (and very wet as the weather sux...) richard100t
I'd get a new test done on a dyno thats setup to do a guzzi. Sounds like you may have gotten a bad reading.

I suspect they will be fine as they specialise in Guzzis but I will let you know how I get on. Regards Guy P.S. Raining in Belgium?? Surely not!! Anybody who purports to "dyno" your bike, cage, engine, whatever and the curves aren't converging below 5252, cross @ 5252 (provided the engine revs that high) and diverging above 5252 rpm, don't pay them! They might as well be telling you your horoscope... Ride on,

Guzzirider
Sounds good- there may be three of us on very dirty thrashed (trashed?) Guzzis. Not sure of our exact plan yet but we will probably be riding from France en route to Valkenburg on the 14th June. Will give you a shout nearer the time if you want to meet up. FWIW, isn't the G&B basically a slightly tuned California engine? Compare it to a couple of Jackal dyno graphs Details here: http://www.guzzitech.com/Bubs-Todd_E.html

I'm really puzzled.
