The right header, close to the head, has started discoloring and then the metal seems to be slowly peeling off. I wonder if this is due to too much heat coming from th eengine or just a normal MG problem? Guest ratchethack Posted August 28, 2006 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Dodofighter, the headers are solid stainless steel, so unless yours have been coated with something (perhaps by a previous owner?), there's nothing to peel off. The discoloration is normal. It sounds like you may have very low miles, and/or only short distance runs on the bike? Eventually, the headers will naturally take on a mellow, honey-blue patina.
