Very interesting results Docc, thank you very much for posting. Did you by any chance try cranking some spring pre-load into the bike to see if it affected the weight bias? I'm jus curious to see if would make any difference at all.

Nuevototem- if you are referring to the hiccup and sputter, most folks have found that a good tune up will more than likely clear the problem. Adjust the valves (.006Intake-.008Exhaust), Sinc/balance the throttle bodies and adjust the TPS if necessary. Everything is pretty well explained in Docc's "Tank Off Maint." thread.
Don't be afraid to ask for advice, everyone here is very helpful.

Footgoose- that is an excellent question and I hope someone much more familiar with suspension set ups can answer. Maybe someone who races, not necessarily road race but also moto-cross since they are continuously working with different set ups for the various tracks.
The Ohlin forks and shock on my Aprilia seem to work fairly well (:-D) with damping and rebound adjustments on each individual fork leg. Recently I rode both bikes to top off the gas tanks with ethanol free. Took the LeMans first. Came back to the house and immediately jumped on the Aprilia. Took the exact same route and was amazed and the difference in comfort of ride. As smooth a ride as the LeMans has, the Aprilia was like riding on air!

This is obviously an example of a person with entirely too much free time on his hands! Just jokng Docc. The NASCAR boys have spent untold millions of dollars trying to figure out how to make their cars just turn left. And they have specific rules determining front to rear and right to left weight bias.
As motorcyclists, we are asking even more of our suspensions since our center of gravity and weight distributions are constantly changing as we "lean" into the corners, slide back on acceleration and slide forward under heavy braking. I think that a properly "tuned" suspension, eg.- sag, preload, rebound and damping will have a greater benefit than attempting to change the weight bias since our bias is never constant.
If you watch a NASCAR race pit stop, often times a pit crew member will place a wrench in a hole in the back window. He will then turn the wrench to add or take out "wedge" or pressure on the spring of that particular wheel. Basically they are either adding or removing pressure on that wheel. I would be interested to see if adding or removing preload to the rear shock spring has any effect on the weight bias of your bike while it is on the scales. It looks like your system just might work, put a block under the side stand to keep the bike as vertical as possible.

Mine arrived at our home in Florida just days after I hauled the bike to our summer place in Georgia. Looking forward to getting it installed and get the bike ready for this years Southern Spine Raid.

I know we have at least one Forum member (Jet) who lives up in Ft McMurray, Alberta, Canada which is a raging inferno of wildfires. Has anyone heard from him or any other of our Canadian members. Hope they are safe.

Lucky Phil- I think your car was sold here in the states badged as a Pontiac GTO. Came with the all aluminum LS-2 330 H.P. engine, same or slightly de-tuned Corvette engine and running gear. Awesome machines!!!!!!

Wife: 2015 Kia Sorento SUV with the 3.5L V-6. Great all around SUV.
Me : 2000 Chevey S10 pick up Extreme edition with the 4.3L V-6. Just bought it last Feb. with 58,000 original miles. Used it to haul the bikes from Clearwater, Fl up to Blowing Rock, N.C. (678 miles each way) and up to the Southern Spine Raid in Tellico Plaines, Tn.(589 miles each way). Ran great until last month when it ate a rod bearing with only 63,000 miles on it. Replaced the engine with a remanufactured long block assembly. New engine is way better than the old one. I really like having a pick up to haul "stuff" with. Will probably keep this until the grandson is old enough to drive then pass it down.

Greenice-Sorry for the late response, busy with Xmas stuff. Just checked my folder where I keep all the LeMans related documents. Cant locate the Alaska Application for Title receipt but I did find the Texas Title Application Receipt dated 09/06/2006.

Texas Owner/Applicant: John Smith (not actual name)

Looks like Mr Smith shipped it to Tx as I have a receipt from 5/07/2012 when they had a battery installed by MPH cycles in Houston. Address on that receipt shows John Smith, Eastwind Dr, Anchorage, Ak.
Being unfamiliar with Texas title applications, Im not sure if the 224 mile reflected the Alaska title application or the mileage when it entered Texas. Either way it was definitely titled in Ak prior to 2006.

Greenice- I just bought my '02 LeMans this past spring from an individual in Houston, Texas. With 3,033 miles showing on the odometer, as soon as it was delivered I checked the date code stamp on the tires, which looked brand new, and they showed a manufacture date of 2001 leading me to believe the mileage was true as indicated. Next, I took the seat off and rummaged around the cowl section where I found an Alaska Application for Title. The bike had originally sold in Alaska and went thru two owners before being shipped to Texas! Im sure they are a rare sight up there. Enjoy

You might also try TAB 2 Classics over in merry ole England. I'm pretty certain they have made aluminum tanks for Spine framed Guzzis. I had contacted them when I was thinking of replacing the tank on my T160. Their home page list a tank for a loop frame, hopefully they have the patterns for a spiney from a previous build.
Was the bike in the photo owned by a guy in Tampa, Fl.?
