Guzzi's Rocks at the Central Texas Hillcountry too!!.... This weekend there was a big Chopper Rallye right on my backyard...literally, http://www.rivercitybikefest.com/ held at the Alamodome....what a crowd Anyway, as expected, lot's of these rolling couches were clogging the backroads this weekend... Out there at the waterhole in Luckenback (1hr away) the scene was pretty amusing...everyone in their best Gay Pirate Regalia.. there were no helmets in sight, just mine...everyone is looking real tough, until their wifes or significant others start taking pictures of them, like they were in Disneyland or something like that... this one dude noticed me smiling at the whole scene from across the road, i guess he didn't like it, because he told his wife to stop it with the pictures and told his buddies it was time to go... (i love it) so the group, 4 chromed out couches and 2 choppers, round up to take off, btw, the owner of one of the choppers was even better, I'll say late thirties early forties, thophy wife/gfriend, cell phone handy at all times, the whole corporate hotshot, no gay pirate attire though , i bet he drives a Beemer M6,... i don't know how much that rolling sculpure cost him, but i'll say a good 50 or 60k, I'm sorry, but what a waste of money... ...I tried to contain myself, but since i had nothing better to do...I could not help it, I had to follow them,... so they take off (making so much noise is kind of funny), I geared up and took off after them, about what...4-5 min. behind well, i caught up with them way too soon, pretty boring too, I don't know what was i thinking, they're doing something like 50-60?? there was no fun in that... so here we are doing mid 50's and then they slow down even more because of an old car in front of them...and they are not overtaking it! and granted there are blind turns and all but is pretty mild really...well I had to get the hell out of there, i thought "i'll just slow down and let them go, (any slower i'll need the side stand) or turn around", well right when i was in the middle of that the road opens up a bit and they start overtaking the car....the biggest grin got drawn on my face, evil one btw... well, downshifted a couple of times and twist that thingy on the right clipon i will say it was about a couple of hundred yards tops? maybe a bit less.. by the time i was passing the two choppers (which were on the front of the line) they were just going back to the right line, i was just shifting into 5th, i glimpse down to 120 something, crested the hill to a blind righthander and almost put my knee down... that was fun...never saw them again..it made my day... yes, yes... very Squidly of me, i bet they all were thinking.."hey, this is not a recetrack, you're gonna kill yourself, or somebody, or blah...blah blah..." oh well, i try not to do those kind of things (too often.. ) PS: I know is not a big feat to pass a procession of furniture on casters, but it's fun sometimes Guzzi's are Alive and well in the Hillcountry

TX...I don't know about that Really, I never considered a busa or the like before this trip,...I would never get one of those things to ride in the US, there's just no use for having one of those things here...and yes, they're severely wacked with the ugly stick , but i don't care really...is all about what you can do w/them...heck as soon as arriving to San Miguel i'll cover it with a blanket... so, being fairly close to the border makes it very appealing!... i don't mind droning for a couple of hours on I35 if i get to use it for what is ment for the next 10!! is just like a freaking couple of thousand mile Isle of Man!! IM REALLY GOING CRAZY! i never thought i'll consider getting a busa :!: PS:did I mentioned there's a 120mi stretch just south of Matehuala wich are completely straight! it crosses a drylake bed... takes over an hour to cross it! {better not be sleepy while in it }

Just back from a week in San Miguel de Allende Mexico....it was pretty cool! I drove it was a 12 hour drive from here San Antonio TX, to there, door to door...very uneventful drive, good toll roads (bit pricey but worth it) no hassels, good food, cute little town...blah blah blah... here's the thing...all the way there and back i was pondering taking the Guzzi and doing that ride, but you know what? is not the bike for that kind of trip, i let you guys on a little secret...there are no speed limits! really, i was doing an average of 90 to 110mph most of the way, not kidding, and still i was being passed now and then, specially by bmw's or the like...i saw a pack of cruiser bikes Harley like, they were getting shoved to the sides by SUV's and Semi's (pretty bad)...i'll defenitevely would not take anything down there that couldn't outrun it all... anyway, if anythig i have the chance to get a place down there (if everything works out) and if i do, i'll be doing that run on two wheels for sure! now here's what got into my little head: i need a bike that i won't freak if something happened to it, something that can be easily serviced down there, parts everywhere etc, and fast as hell,...well, yes it has to be japanese and, you guess it right... I really don't care how ugly it is... Now, tell me i'm not F@#$ nuts!!
