  1. I can confirm that theres no clutch switch in the lever assembly, and that the following bikes use the same levers: Sport 1100 i Daytona RS Centauro Can anyone confirm if they are similar to the V11 levers ? I'm not sure if the V11 was ever made with a cable actuated clutch lever ? Here's a few decent pictures of the levers on my 1997 Sport 1100 i. Brake lever Clutch lever /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  2. I really could use som help here: Brake lever is the same as for a 1996 Ducati 748SP or 916SP, so that should be quite easy. As for the clutch levers, I know the carbed sports are different from the injected bikes (mine is the injected type). Clutch is cable actuated and the lever is same shape as the brake lever, and have the same type of roller adjuster. So if anybody out there have a clue to what type of brake lever will fit the Sporti, please fill me in. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  3. 10 $ discount or not - they still looks interesting Will they fit my 1997 1100 Sporti ? /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  4. Yes, I've seen the Guzzi watch with the 7750 movement. The Valjoux 7750 is fine, but the general finish of case and bracelet is horrible. (And I really, really dont like the design) They can be found on eBay occationally - See one here: http://cgi.ebay.com/MOTO-GUZZI-75TH-ANNIV-...7QQcmdZViewItem /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  5. Sorry - macro pictures are so hard to get right....... The numbers "can" look yellowish under certain light conditions, but are really white/silver colored. The "glowing in the dark" paint act this way on photos. The picture below is the best one regarding the actual colors and shape of the hands. Please start up your imagination skills and remove the Junkers name and logo and add the Moto Guzzi eagle. Anyway, I still have a few spare watches - mail me if you want one. Newcomers should be aware that this watch is a limited (very limited) production run of a high quality mechanical wrist watch, initiated by immensely strong support from the international Moto Guzzi community. The watch is in production right now, and should be ready for delivery in about 7 weeks. I've been into bikes and wrist watches for 20+ years, and I can honestly tell you that I've never seen a motorcycle wrist watch in this quality level before - ever ! You may have seen the red and black dialed Ducati/Breil wrist watch, which is one of the better bike watches around. Even here, the movement is a cheap quartz machine, and the watch is terribly overpriced. So, my initial thought of a fine Moto Guzzi watch quickly developed among dedicated owners worldwide, and the project became a reality in less than two weeks. I've spend a lot of hours on this project and I'm never going make a living out of it, so my initial promise stands: This is a one time opportunity to own a Moto Guzzi watch in this design and level of quality. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english jenslh@guzzitech.dk
  6. Have'nt bothered you for a while, but today I recieved this design proposal from the factory. Beautiful, is'nt it :-) (Please note that the crown is pulled to the second position at the picture - it will be flush with the casing when the watch is running.) Goffredo and I just have to agree on the size and excact location of the logo, then I can actually place the final order at the factory :-) YES - the watch is actually going into production !!!!!!! I've been spending a lot of time and thoughts on this watch, and the support have been fantastic. Thanks to everybody that participated with thoughts and inputs - and of course I'm especially thankful to those of you that actually decided that you wanted to own the watch. The production order will be send to the factory on friday, March 9, 2007, 08.00 (Central European time), so if anybody out there wants to get in (or out), NOW is the last chance. To the newcomers on the planet, please see: http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch/index.htm for a complete description of the watch. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  7. Its a real pleasure to inform you that we now have exceded 50 pre-orders (We’re actually on 51), and the Moto Guzzi wrist watch will be in production soon :-) Goffredo and I will clear the final design details with the factory, and as soon as this is done, order intake will be closed and I’ll place the production order at the factory. This should hopefully be done at the end of this week. So if you changed your mind, and decided that you cant live (properly) without this fine watch, its time to act now. All of you that pre-ordered should have recieved a mail with more detailed information a few minutes ago. If not, it means that I never got your message, and you are not currently on the pre-order list!!! Send me a mail jenslh@guzzitech.dk ASAP to clear this up. Thanks for your support and interest in the project :-) /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch
  8. Not too sure about this, I know it only as tritium, but its a fact that when you leave the watch in the dark, the glow will fade after some time, and have to be recharged by ambient light. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  9. Sorry, but the design is fixed at this point, but if I will ever do a project like this again, it will probably be a "forum community watch" with a number of polls on different designs, materials, movements, etc. Your proposal may have a chance here. Hands and markings on the dial is Tritium covered to make them luminous in the dark (only for some time after the ambient light is gone, as the use of the radioactive stuff was banned some 40 years ago......) 47 pre-orders as of today - design talk with the factory started. /Jens
  10. Fernando: As you probably figured out by reading through the thread, I dont see this project as a new business opportunity - I'm plenty busy with my current projects (jobs, family, motorcycles etc......) I'm doing this thing as an evening/weekend project for the fun of it, combining the two things I have some knowledge about (Moto Guzzi's and watches) into an interesting product. I seriously doubt if I will run another project like this one, so this is probably a one time opportunity. It's not possible to obtain a permission from Moto Guzzi to use their name - all questions of this kind are traditionally completely ignored by the factory. You do'nt get a "Yes" or a "No" - you simply dont get an answer. I asked a lot of people that makes T-shirts, Jackets, Caps, etc. using the Name and/or logo, and they never had any problems. And I honestly think that I'm doing the brand good by starting this project - its not that I use the brand to sell bad quality stuff, and I'm not competing with anything you can get from official sources. As for product liability, there's no problem. I dont sell the watch in the US - you buy it in Denmark! What you do with the watch is your responsebility. (Denmark dont have the strict product liability laws you know in the US - over here, common sense is still allowed and expected). Arrrrrrrggghh - sorry about the last part, I just could'nt help my self.... /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  11. As mentioned above, I'm going to ask you to make the payment when we reach the 50 watches and the factory has confirmed that they can actually produce the proposed design. I'll set up a payment button on the information site http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch/index.htm to allow you to transfer money from your Paypal account or make the payment by credit card, and I will ask you to pay the full amount in one payment. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  12. I get your point, and I can partly agree with you . Here's my own thoughts on the subject: - The first orders have mainly been from the dedicated Moto Guzzi owners that (like my self) would really love to be able to flash a watch like this. I'm positively sure that pre-orders wil not be ticking in at this rate in the future, and when we reach the nescesary 50 watches I'm not going to "punish" the early birds by delaying the project for another 2-4 weeks to get 10 or 15 more orders. We're already talking 6-8 weeks production time from order date, and I know the guys that ordered are anxious to recieve the watch. So, the plan right now is that I will talk to the factory's design department, and make the final design agreements (helped by Goffredo's kind offer to assist with the design proposal). This will probably be done by the end of next week, and if we've reached the 50 watch limit at that time, I'll place a "Last orders" note on the forum. The web site http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch/index.htm will be updated with a payment button to allow you to pay from your Paypal account or by Credit card. A few days later I'll stop the order intake, count the final quantity, and place a production order at the factory. I've given people plenty of opportunities to back out if they had second thoughts about buying the watch, but I'll probably experience that a few bastards will quit without notice when payment is due. Watches not paid for within reasonable time will be sold to somebody else. It's important to notice that the original purpose of the project was to make available a limited series of high quality wrist watches to the Moto Guzzi owners. I'm never gonna make a living out of this project, so I do'nt really care if we make 50 or 70 watches. As long as we reach the minimum limit so I can get a watch for myself :-) /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk
  13. As of today, we have 42 Pre-orders, just 8 short of the 50 we need to get started. I think we can now safely assume that the project will actually come alive :-) Goffredo have started the work on the high-res files for the dial design, and I'm discussing our options with the factory. If pre-orders keeps coming in at the same rate, I should be able to place the order at the factory in a week or two. Right now, I dont know if the batch will be of 50 or 60 watches, but its for certain that there wont be another production run with watches of this design. If there will be another watch project in the future, the watch will have a different design, so right now is the time to act if you want to get in. If you for some reason regret that you pre-ordered, its perfectly OK to back out at this point, but please make up your mind ASAP, and send me a mail so I can update the pre-order list. As soon as we reach the limit, I'll set up the payment system on my website and let you know. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  14. Actually, we're now having 38 pre-orders ....... Most recent orders seems to be coming from Europe, so I guess the word is out world wide. Just 12 more to launch the project :-) /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  15. First - we're now on 27 pre-orders, so we've passed the half way mark :-) Next - As mentioned earlier, I can easily see the quality of the design offered by Goffredo, but have been reluctant to make changes the project at this point. But after a few days consideration, I've decided that my stubborn principles should not keep us from having the look of the watch changed from "Great" to "Absolute Fantastic". So with the help of Goffredo, we will continue the project with this design: If any of you that already pre-ordered the watch with the original design wants to cancel your pre-order due to the change of design, its perfectly OK. Put the blame on me for changing the project, but please notify me if you dont want the watch, so the number of pre-orders can be corrected. You can still see details and status of the project here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch/index.htm /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  16. I looked up quite a few companies that was selling Moto Guzzi labeled items without being connected to the factory, and asked them how they handled the copyright issue. The interesting point is that many of them had actually tried to contact Moto Guzzi several times, but had never recieved an answer. Not a "no" or a "yes" - just silence....... This is the usual Italian mentality - why bother about a question from some obscure far away country, and why bother about an answer when its safe to ignore the question...... No wonder that Moto Guzzi has been nearly bankrupt for 80+ years with a mentality like that (This is probably also why we love the Italians anyway Smile))). So, it seems that plenty of people are doing this, and the factory dos'nt seem to bother. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  17. Goffredo and Alex: The design suggestions mentioned above are truely magnificent, and its easy to be tempted to change the design in the project watch, (especially the http://mapage.noos.fr/goffredo/various/Guzzi-watch-1.jpg is very, very good) but I fear that doing so may kill the project for this reason: We’re on 25 pre-orders now, and pre-orders have come from many different sources, its not possible to change the design without starting the preorder process all over again - and this would seriously weaken the credability of the project. So, I simply fear that the people that pre-ordered the watch with the original design may feel that the project is out of control. What do you think ? /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  18. My mailserver has been down for the last few days, so if anybody send me a pre-order mail, and did'nt get a confirmation mail back - please try again. We're on 22 pre-orders now. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  19. Thanks Jaap, I know the Dutch forum is pretty active, but I'm quite unable to answer any questions that might come up - hope you can help with the translation /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  20. Status of the project is that we’re now having 20 pre-orders. And with the project only a few days old, its a lot better than I could ever hope for. It’s actually amazing what the Moto Guzzi comunity is capable of doing. Thanks for your interest and support so far. The project information page now has a pre-order counter included: http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch A few people wished the watch had features like alarm or chronograph, and this leads to a few general thoughts on owning a watch: We must face the fact that nobody ”needs” a watch for timekeeping – there’s a watch in your cell phone, your PDA, and every kitchen appliance you own. So as an instrument for timekeeping, the watch is a thing of the past. So, watch manufactores can basicly go two ways to keep up the interest (and sales). Add features or add luxury ! The factory can add more features to the watch to make it a tool like a Swiss army knife (alarm, chronograph, altimeter, compass, calculator, etc) This is the Citizen/Seiko way, and watches of this type are nearly always having a quartz movement. But there’s another angle to consider: Being of the male gender, you have a limited choice of socially acceptable jewelry (This does not apply if you’re a regular visitor to the Blue Oyster bar or somewhere likewise). Your wife can wear 10 pieces of gold jewelry on visible parts of her body, and nobody will bother, but if you show up at work or at some formal party wearing four rings and a necklace, you will be regarded as some kind of pimp. But you’re allowed to own a luxury watch and flash it in front of your buddies or the collegues at work. Now we’re suddenly in a field where materials, finish, tradition, craftmanship, and history counts, and thats why luxury watches are mostly made with a mechanical movement. It’s probably a male thing, but having a fine, precision made mechanical machinery that you can wear on your wrist, is apealing to most men. You have to decide for yourself which road to take, but I guess you can figure out my own preferences – I never said I was unbiased about this :-) /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  21. Please note that only the late half of the fuel injected sporti's had the upgraded helical cut gearbox (somebody out there posted the gearbox number where the change took place). My own 1100 sport is a 97 model and have the (weak) straight cut box. Its "only" the 5th gear that self-destroys, and you can swap the two gear wheels with the helical ones (Did it on my own bike). When the box is open anyway, take the time to shim up the shifting drum properly. Pictures and description on my own mods here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/10/1100%20Sport/1100Sport_e.htm /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  22. It can be difficult to see the design details from on the picture of the dial, so here's a short explanation: - The dial itself is black and structured to make it look like the corrugated steel plates on a veteran JUNKERS plane. - Digits and markings will be white and shaped like on the 6256-2. - Eagle and "Moto Guzzi" will be printed in red on the dial. Having metal logo's cast for such a small series would raise the price way above what most people would be prepared to pay.. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  23. Just a small update - it's now excactly 24 hours from launch, and we have 14 preorders - not bad at all. And yes, the watch is basicly the same as the one from amazon.com as mentioned in a previous post, but with the sapphire glass as mentioned by Todd /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  24. Wow - a truly amazing interest in the project. Thanks. After less than 24 hours from launching the idea, I have 8 preorders, so if we continue at this speed we could have the project to start in less than 1 week Reaching the redline of 50 units can only be done with your help, so please spread the word and don't forget to mention the project in French/German/Italian/Dutch/Spanish forums. Please read all details on the project here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch, and please mail in your preorders at jenslh@guzzitech.dk This weekend, I'll include a preorder counter on the Wristwatch infopage, so everybody can see the number of preorders. I'd had a few comments on design and materials, but in generel, I can't change the watch design at this point. It's not likely that the entire Moto Guzzi community would ever agree on a design, and if I made any changes now, we would have to start the preorder proces all over. Here's the suggestions I've recieved: - Different design change proposals. - For the reasons mentioned avove I'll keep the current design for this project. - a suggestion to have both the JUNKERS logo and the Guzzi Logo on the dial. - The company behind the JUNKERS watches would not agree to this, they dont want to have their brand mixed with others. - a request for lower cost by using mineral glass, and cheaper movement. - Sorry, but this is not going to happen in this project. My basic idea was to offer the higest quality at a fair price and see if 50 people would be interested, I'll stick to that. But a quick thought occured to me: If this project is successful we may start a second one for a forum community watch, and let the members of the worldwide forums decide for materials and design. That could be fun, but I wonder if we would ever get to an agreement on the "right" watch /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  25. Hi, Inspired by the recent project where Harold in Germany started a small production run of Daytona/Centauro valvecovers, I'll try to start a similar project based on my own expertise. My project is quite simply a high quality wrist watch like this: with a dial like this: For the project to start, I need 50 preorders. Plenty of details on http://www.guzzitech.dk/wristwatch What do you think ? /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
