  1. The Danish postal service are aparently cutting down on the usual sloppy delivery times, because mine also arrived this morning Nicely finished (seems to be laser cut), and only very small cutting burrs that can easily be removed in minutes with a file or or emery paper. I won't install it right now - the riding season in Scandinavia is ending soon, and I dont want to take the bike off the road right now.......... Thanks for your efforts, Pete /Jens http://guzzitech.dk/english
  2. Connecting grounds directly to the battery is fine! The rocker switch position for "normal running mode" is fed from the fuel pump/injectors/coils as Cliff describes. The "calibration" position powers the ECU from one of the relays that switches with the ignition key - I think I used the output from the flasher relay. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  3. Greg's excellent report on installation of a windage plate, is now available at Guzzitech.dk - Credit to Rolf Johansen (as usual) for the nice pdf layout. Go to http://www.guzzitech.dk/english and find the proper link in the right hand section. Greg: I did'nt ask you this time, but I hope your permission to publish your posts still holds ? /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  4. I may well be considered "Mad as a Hatter" for this, but I'll try to make up a more excact frame # list than the ones everyone are looking at today. I've had the commonly accepted list on my site for years, but several Guzzisti's from around the globe have mailed me with information that proves the list wrong in several places. So my idea is that a lot of us holds a little piece of the puzzle - nobody have the complete picture (The factory in Mandello doesn't have a clue - thats for sure) Please have a look at the list and the comments here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/05/05-01/05-01.htm, and mail me if you posess additional information. I'll publish your comments on the site and try to compile a more precise list. As stated earlier, I'll probably go nuts trying, but what the heck......... /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  5. pShenk: I just attached the three grounding wires to the same grounding point. Having three different ground wires is just an attempt to make the device act corectly on vehicles that have multiple ground voltage levels, due to bad engineering or neglect. Make sure your Guzzi have proper grounding wires (lots of models dont), and you will have no trouble when you connect the three ground wires to the same point. And no, I never bothered to make schematics for the junction box - everything is assemblet according to the LC-1 instruction booklet. The box is just there to avoid an ugly "birds nest" of wires, and to hold the pushbutton and the LED. Ohh yes - the rocker switch is for calibration. The ECU shuts of power after a few seconds if the engine isn't started, so I needed a way to keep power to the LC-1 for calibration. Slug: I never had any overheating problems with my sensor - could you please post a picture showing the location of yours ? /Jens
  6. Last winter I build the My16M/LC-1 combo, and it works great - I've even stopped bringing the original WM box on longer trips :-) I've put a number of pics and a describtion on my site: http://www.guzzitech.dk/10/1100%20Sport/My16M/My16M.htm. /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  7. Hi, I've thougt a lot of how to make my 2,5 gigabyte collelction of owners manuals, workshop manuals, sparepart lists and brochures available to everybody, and I've decided to do a DVD. All details on http://www.guzzitech.dk/english /Jens
  8. I have no idea if the V11 rear end is anything near the one on a 1100 Sporti, but I made the wingrack fit my bike and it wasn't easy - believe me Pictures and description here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/10/1100%20Sport/Givi/Givi.htm /Jens http://guzzitech.dk/english
  9. Yep, the higher the voltage span, the better the resolution = accuracy. Nope, never bothered to take a temp reading, I figured the current location approx. 10 cm from the rear end of the header pipe was ok - and it has worked so far. I wanted it to be placed in front of the header/cross over connection to avoid leaks to disturb the readings. /Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  10. No, the LC-1 has two fully programmable outputs, and narrow band sensor behaveior is useeless for trimming the injection map - IMHO. Output 1 is set to: Lambda 1,2 = 0 volt and Lambda 0,7 = 5 Volt (I may narrow in the range later to improve resolution, but this is fine for now. Output 2 is set to: Lambda 0,7 = 0,7 volt and Lambda 1,2 = 1,2 volt. This allows me to connect a voltmeter and read lambda values directly. /Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  11. Finished the building/install of the My16M/Optimiser/LC-1 wideband unit, and it actually works ! (Had more faith in the products than in my ability to get the lot working) Detailed description and lots of pictures here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/10/1100%20Sport/My16M/My16M.htm /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  12. Thanks to John Entwistle (Australia) for sending me the material - I've never seen this brochure before, guess it's pretty rare Check it out here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/04/750S/750S.htm /Jens http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  13. Right: http://www.guzzitech.dk/05/05-11/05-11_e.htm /Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  14. Thanks to Pete for sharing his knowledge, and to Rolf for the nice pdf layout. Files available at: www.guzzitech.dk/english (direct link in the right column) /Jens Guzzitech.dk
  15. I'll be looking forward to see if there's any noticeable difference with the multiple spark, and you can sign me up for a wide band sensor controller - but are there any benefits to have from using seperate sensors and dual close loop ? I can understand the need for such a thing on a Ducati with the two cylinders running under different conditions (cooling + intake and exhaust lenght), but on a Guzzi where both cylinders are compareable regarding running conditions, it seems as overkill to me? /Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  16. Hi, I just finished building Cliff's My16M for my 1997 Sport1100i. Considering the number of ECU posts here, I thought you might want to see the making of a My16M..... http://www.guzzitech.dk/10/1100%20Sport/My16M/My16M.htm /Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  17. Coat me in chocolate and send in the cats - this is really nice stuff Get the .pdf's here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/05/05-16/05-16-01.htm /Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  18. Hi, Anybody know the factory settings for the WP upside down fork for a 1997 Sport 1100i ? The owners manual states settings for the rear damper, but nothing for the fork..... /Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  19. Hi, This time I really got candy for you: I’ve collected Moto Guzzi brochures from the web for a number of years, and I finally got them properly sorted, made a usable layout, and have the lot uploaded to my website: www.guzzitech.dk My collection contains +100 brochures, all in all +500 pics, and if you’re in possession of anything that will fit in, please mail me. I claim this to be the worlds largest collection of online Moto Guzzi brochures, I’ll be happy if somebody proves me wrong, but till then my claim stands….. Hope you enjoy it – It was a hell of a job to organize all those pics  Jens Lyck www.guzzitech.dk
  20. Nice piece of work from Rolf (Norway) and Georg (Germany) http://www.guzzitech.dk/05/05-06/Clutch%20...0the%20cure.pdf Regards Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  21. Rolf Halvorsen from Norway is making a set of special tools for the Moto Guzzi big block engine/gearbox. These tools are really high quality stuff, and makes the factory produced tools look like kids toys. I've just updated www.guzzitech.dk with pictures of the tools, and a chart stating which tool to be used for what. (They can be bought one by one or as a set) Have a look at http://www.guzzitech.dk/05/05-11/05-11.htm and you'll probably be looking forward to taking the engine apart...... /Jens www.guzzitech.dk
  22. Pete Roper has recently written a paper containing his notes on Windage plates. Read it here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/05/05-06/05-06-07.htm Quite interesting! Cheers Jens Lyck http://www.guzzitech.dk/english
  23. A Norwegian guy manufactures and sell a collection of the commonly used special tools for the Moto Guzzi bigblock engine. All made in a quality much superior to the original crap tools from the Guzzi factory. See more here: http://www.guzzitech.dk/05/05-11/05-11_e.htm Regards Jens www.guzzitech.dk/english
  24. Hi, If you own a technical interest, take a look at this patent from 1951. http://www.guzzitech.dk/07/07-10/07-10_e.htm You’ll find drawings and an explanation to how it works – it’s actually quite brilliant made, but there’s probably a reason why it never was used widely.
