  1. I'm not a bike mechanic either but had no problem installing a new battery in my V11 when i got it, (still use the old one on the outboard motor). I also replaced all the relays with the recommended Omron relays discussed elsewhere on this site. Found good ones on Ebay. Bought extras. I applied Craig Deoxit to the terminals and dielectric grease to pins when installing the new relays. I keep extra relays and fuses in my tail bag just in case the bike decides to get funky somewhere inconvenient.
  2. it happened during tightening the bolt
  3. I am probably going to take it to a shop, not sure this is the right learning opportunity for me, but will post pics for you all to review tomorrow.
  4. i snapped one of my valve cover bolts while changing the gaskets this morning. going to have to figure out if I want to attempt to fix it myself or bring it somewhere. any advice appreciated.
  5. sweet harley
  6. yes, bike runs well. went for a nice ride this past weekend, thanks for the comments. I have some valve cover gaskets I think and will start there. will investigate further. spray foot powder is a good tip!
  7. I am finding myself cleaning crud off my bike regularly in a couple locations as it builds up and wonder what you all may think about it. I let it go for a bit to get some good pics for you to help diagnose. The black deposits near the exhaust pipe - both sides - I'm wondering if I can solve this by replacing the valve gaskets. Maybe there is a pin hole leak ? The second is on the grime that accumulates on the pork chop near shifter on the left side of the bike, fewer ideas about what might be causing this, could it just be road grime or maybe a small leak somewhere forward of it? Cant ID to see any obvious source.
  8. yeah, my first impression of the first blurry image was a battery tender connector. which should trace easy back to battery - even if battery is not present.
  9. I ended up buying a Hyperpro.
  10. link on forum website under file sharing may need updating.. this has the 404 error https://thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/moto_guzzi_misc.htm#gtb_workshop_manuals___shop_manuals___service_manuals
  11. I checked that first, unfortunately that link is a 404 error now phil. I put manual on google drive. https://drive.google.com/file/d/10iwyvDTA2vIf6Ow0iv-KbtAddE4_Wex0/view?usp=drive_link
  12. Owners manual pdf I have is 42 mgs. Too big to post. I can put it online somewhere and get you a download link if you want.
  13. easy replacement of clutch lever. took 5 minutes, did not see a puck or a little ball that might fall off. the end of the cable did have a round protrusion shaped like a ball that fit into the lever socket like an elbow joint. didnt seem like that ball could fall out. all set. I recognize the damn sure zip tie as a good idea after seeing how this is all put together.
  14. stiffen up means I have to push down on lever a fair amount to get break to engage, a few inches, I'd like to push down less. no ball end on the damaged lever, repair seems simple enough. I saw something somewhere that there is a black plastic part inside the lever assemble somewhere. not finding it in the manual yet.
