  1. Yes indeed thank you, and also to @audiomick. Life has gotten in the way of my troubleshooting, and I expect to get back to the task early next week, and I will report back then. I did order a new oil pressure switch from MG Cycle, which should arrive early next week as well.
  2. Something like this?
  3. I believe so. I clipped the ohm meter to the post at the red arrow in pic below.
  4. This is what my DMM shows at all ohm settings between the blue wire and GND.
  5. No it does not light up KOEO.
  6. -Jumper wire to black wire to regulator: Battery light gradually came on at 3K rpm, and got brighter towards 4K. -Jumper to white wire to reg at idle and revved got no battery light.
  7. Ohms were, at various DMM settings. (I am stupid, ignorant, uneducated about which is the appropriate or meaningful setting): 70 @ 200 7 @ 2000 0 @ 20K
  8. My memory is unfortunately foggy one the chain of events, but I will try to reconstruct them here. After the first Odyssey showed signs of bubbling and bloating - with no alert from the charging lamp - I assumed to regulator was bad, and that the reg was overcharging the battery, hence the bloating. So I replaced the reg, along with my current "new" Odyssey battery. Next, I took the bike for a ride and the battery light lit up again, so I suspected the stator - sending too many AC volts to the regulator - which I then replaced. Installed the new stator, rode for 100 miles and the charging light never lit up. Like an idiot, I thought all my problems were solved, lol. The next ride, the lamp started to activate at 3-4K rpm, which is where we are now. (This was the title of this post, remember? Is the stator defective?' My memory is foggy on this, but I never recall the battery light OR the oil light EVER activating with key on, engine off.
  9. Good news. Just got an email from batterystuff.com with a UPS tracking # and the charger is scheduled for delivery this Friday. Not to derail my own thread on my charging issue, but it sounds like going forward I should stop using the Battery Tender and use your protocol quoted here, amirite?
  10. Just went out to the garage - the DMM reads 13.12v with the Battery Tender attached. Close but no cigar?
  11. Did not start it up. I will do this tomorrow morning and report back. Need to get some better terminal connections for the jumper wire if I am going to fire up the motor.
  12. I replaced the blistered and bloated Odyssey last month with a new one, just before I started this thread. I've skimmed through your Odyssey Battery Conditioning thread (20+ pages!) and have ordered what I believe is an appropriate charger.(Battery Minder 128CEC2, which I believe replaces the older 12248 model). Will condition my battery asap, but I assume I can continue to troubleshoot my charging issues in the meantime. I am still keeping the battery on my trickle charger, which keeps the volts at 13-13.4, and I hope this isn't hurting the battery.
  13. No battery light with a jumper wire from battery + attached, key on engine off......
  14. Just did this and the oil light fires up! There was a bit of corrosion in this connection, and I hit it with some Deoxit and wiped it down.
  15. Tach, front and rear brake light switches are working
  16. Just did this with key on/engine off, and the battery light did indeed light up. Are we making some progress here? I hope so!
  17. I am trying to follow your analysis, which I appreciate, but do you have a recommendation for next steps? Perhaps I missed this.... Thank you in advance!
  18. Just cleaned up the connection, and re-tightened the ground wire. Turned key on, headlight and neutral light come on, but still no oil pressure or battery light.....
  19. Update from yesterday evening: Plugged relay 2 back in. Battery terminals read 12.7 key off, 12.6 key on, 13.0 when I took it off the tender about an hour ago. Blue wire to harness 12.4v key on Red/black wire to harness 12.2v key on Re-attached harness black regulator ground. (Because the wire was not long enough to reach the regulator bolt, I attached it to the timing case bolt, from where my new 10AWG regulator ground goes to the regulator case). Next, with key on engine off, the headlight comes on, horn works, neutral light on, but no charging light or oil light. Main battery ground from gearbox seems intact, but there are a few sharp bends just before it attaches to the - terminal. I could try to eliminate the bends if it is recommended.
  20. Oh crap, Relay 2 was not installed, sorry about that. Will reinstall the relay first thing tomorrow, and redo the voltage tests on the blue wire, as well as the red/black wire from the harness. Stay tuned and thank you again.
  21. Zero volts key off and key on, engine off.
  22. Zero volts on the blue wire. Battery terminals are at 13 volts
  23. I will fix this first thing tomorrow. Thx!
