  1. By exhaust adapter do you mean exhaust gas analyser probe? If they only have a single probe for Japanese bikes then all they need to do is analyse it twice - once for each side. It does take twice as long but then they can charge you more. It does sound like they are blowing smoke up your ass because otherwise they would have to have a probe for every Akrapovic, Yoshimura, etc. exhaust system made.
  2. So Brian - you and Gord Hill must get along very well. Oh and another thing, if you are riding an Italian bike wouldn't you be a fascisti? I also would like to hear about the Techlusion module. We are using them on our Kawasaki race bikes (ZX6RR) because they are cheap and easy to adjust the STOCK map. We have had lots of trouble with it when we stray farther from stock. I think it is because it is too simple. Perhaps it will work well for adjusting stock or fairly stock Guzzi's and the complaints are from more modified Guzzi's.
  3. The best change in exhaust note for my bike was not the Mistral cans, crossover or FBF airbox mod - although they all sound awesome. The best change was the 11:1 pistons. The sound changed from a low throaty growl to a low throaty bark. I couldn't believe the difference. It is still very quiet at idle and quite acceptable at low power settings but when full throttle is applied it is a whole new sound. It does seem to bother many stock pipe riders but then not for very long. It especially surprises riders of powerful bikes like GSXR 1000's. I know they can beat me but when I gas it and get the jump on them while wheelying they are as much impressed by the blast of sound. The main drag of Harrison Hot Springs knows whenever I am coming!!!
  4. What about the right side? Should I check it too?
  5. THAT is why we have such tough gun laws here in Canada!! So us guys can have fun sinnin'!!!!!
  6. I had a mean girlfriend but I don't got her no more! I had to make space for my MGS when it arrives.
  7. If you plan on getting a Power Commander III to set the fuel mapping to match your exhaust modifications then I suggest you get both the exhaust cans and the crossover at the same time unless you don't mind tuning the bike twice. I have Mistral cans and crossover and I enjoy them both but the Mistral crossover is biased towards mid range torque at the expense of top end horsepower. The midrange power makes the bike very easy to ride but I do notice that the power flattens significantly above 6500 rpm. I am going to try a Stucchi crossover as I have seen information that says it is more favourable for top end power and then decide wich one I wish to keep. I am sure someone else can tell you more about the other systems available. Good luck and enjoy.
  8. I'm going to phone today to see when it is coming.
  9. Just have to say that Valley Moto Guzzi has always gone the extra mile here in Canada and Gord Hill is an amazing technician. I don't know what else I can do to promote how great they are.
  10. Thanks TX - is that why he's called "Big Halsey"?
  11. Anyone remember a movie called 'Little Foss and Big Halsey' or something like that? I havn't seen it for years but it had a few good racing scenes plus a lot of bad ones. can't remember the actors names.
  12. I'm headed to Nummy's Pub in Newry to see if I see any Guzzi's parked outside!!!!!
  13. I'll have to figure out the fuel mileage when I'm doing wheelies. The low fuel light usually goes out when the bike is stood right up.
  14. If that is so then please don't ever accelerate with your bike because all the oil will rush to the back of the engine and it will blow up! So far it is a cheap trick and I guess until you have tried it you will never know. I intend to enjoy my bike and I hope you all enjoy your bikes.
  15. It has not arrived yet but I know it is coming!! Just want to keep this one alive.
  16. Ride fast and lean very far in corners. You will find you are very close to the ground. Rossi and Biaggi are small guys too!!!!
  17. Hey - thanks for the comments all. I have to admit I really like doing wheelies and I DO know that it is not good for the bike but I also know I can order parts if I break it. I hate to admit it but I weigh 100 kilos(220lbs) so I guess that is why I am so impressed with the performance gains of the 11:1 pistons. I also want to quantify that I can't always do the second gear wheelie carry through. It is more a matter of luck for me - but I have done it a few times and it is sooooo gratifying. Again I want to stress that anyone who wants incredible throttle response can have it but must use the highest octane fuel available - the 11:1pistons are the best mod I have done to my bike. I hope to have better pictures and a video for you all some day soon.
  18. I managed to get someone to take a photo but both the photo and the wheelie are not that good. I can usually stand it right up and if I shift into second I can sometimes carry it for quite some distance but it does tend to roll to the right.
  19. Will try for pictures tonight.
  20. I have the FBF airbox, valves and 11:1 pistons. Also Mistral exhust and crossover plus PC III. I love it all but the pistons are the greatest asset. I don't believe it is any faster in a straight line but the midrange is incredibly boosted and the throttle response is amazing. I have also found about a 5 mpg increase in fuel consumption. i am going to try a Stucchi crossover because I have heard they are better for top end performance but I'm really happy as it is now. I can loft the front wheel with just throttle now in first gear - not what many people expect from a Moto Guzzi.
  21. Moto Guzzi builds spy plane engines? Does anyone have any information on that?
