  2. everyone should join in the fun..... An engineer died and ended up in Hell. He was not pleased with the level of comfort in Hell, and began to redesign and build improvements. After awhile, they had toilets that flush, air conditioning, and escalators. Everyone grew very fond of him. One day God called to Satan to mock him, "So, how's it going down there in Hell?" Satan replied, "Hey, things are great. We've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next." God was surprised, "What? You've got an engineer? That's a mistake. He should never have gotten down there in the first place. Send him back up here." "No way," replied Satan. "I like having an engineer, and I'm keeping him." God threatened, "Send him back up here now or I'll sue!" Satan laughed and answered, "Yeah, right. And just where are YOU going to get a lawyer?"
  3. What? no comments on how things seem to happen in 3s...As Ratchet has found out, if they don't happen in 3s they just appear to be one-off random events, hence the inability to integrate learnings irrespective to time. But that is all not here nor there for the lonely few individuals that don't receive any comments on their motos, hence they jump from their own conclusion that their bikes must be a POS => to a twisted view that all bikes that aren't like theirs are a POS. The human mind is a MARVEL. To bad the mind is not ageless like the BLACK 2002 Scura destined for notoriety! Oh, almost forgot....sometime the cowling comes off when someone asks to ride on the B-Seat. Here she comes saying "I'll be right there honey".
  4. In the last 3 weeks I have had 3 people come up to me and say 3 things out of the blue: 1) "Man, when I look at that bike my eyes blurr. That bike looks so fast just sitting there"; 2) "I didn't know Guzzi's made such fast looking bikes, is this their new model?", and finally the kicker..... 3) "Man, I've been riding for years, but I don't think I'm young enough to ride THAT!" Now tell me that the 2002 Scura is not timeless or ageless or will not be a prime example in the guggenheim in the year 2100.
  5. definately experienced the same thing when those damn yellow lights in the sky say the green light is changing to red! Why do they have red lights anyways....can anyone explain that? Definately solved this inconvenience by adjusting the valves. Hey, don't we ride for the exhiliration? the st.

  7. There is a right way and a wrong way to pronounce . . . Oklahoma The Proper Way is: "Okla . . . Homa" (There's a pause between the "a" and the "h".)
  8. I've got 30K miles on mine, I ride it like I stole it, and not a fricken thing has happened to it. That's cause the bike doesn't listen to all those scary bedtime stories that get repeated until everyone thinks they are the truth. signing off to ride like the wind..... As my Reaper T-shirt says .... " I refuse to tiptoe through life, just to arrive safely at death "
  9. Crooz, been outa the country for about 6 weeks (picked up a contract in tunisia) and just got back online. Sorry to hear we won't be seeing as many postings...look me up when you get back down here. I will have a new mc by then, just waiting to get it before posting. btw, my daughter is the photographer/videographer always taking the cool pics/videos. PM me anytime.
  10. no, I haven't...but I bought the Givi soft bags but my high pipes (Ti Exhaust) cramp the style a little. Now I am using Cortech.
  11. Yes, Crooz. I remember our talk and that you picked up your goose on the way back home. I have always been a fan of your photography. keep them coming! augustine
  12. Crooz, I have a set on my Scura and will leave them for you in my will. jk when are you coming back down by jacksonville/ st. augustine? biketoberfest? seriously, i think Todd at MGH has some but if you haven't heard from him on this forum maybe he is out. best of luck.
  13. I don't know...I have my suspensions(this is a bike thread?)... the one on the right looks to have a tattoo on the upper arm, the arm looks harry and the tambourine is covering his privates! do you think he is trying to slip across the border dressed as a woman? I heard that is a trick widely used by fleeing Taliban fighters/generals.
  14. sorry for not knowing...but I assume that he is on a Ducati?
  15. is a long clutch/short brake combination available? the website offers two short clutch/long brake options. I find that I only need a couple of fingers for my brakes but would probably prefer the longer handle for the clutch. st augustine
  16. didn't know about it at the time of the post...but here is the website http://www.emilioscotto.com/
  17. just finished the Argentine's book on traveling 735,000km around the world in 10 years, 2 months and 19 days. there is something for everyone in this book. i hope you pick it up for a read. see what others said.... You must be crazier than me, and no doubt that’s why you’ll make it. Mohammed Alí (Cassius Clay). Los Ángeles, 1986 Emilio, today I will say a prayer for you and your Black Princess. You both have my blessing. Pope John Paul II, Vatican City, 1987 We are thankful for your visit to our country and the letter of peace you have gave me. Colonel Muammar El Qadhafi, Libya, 1988 One day Hollywood will have to make a movie about your story. Robert Stack (Unsolved Mysteries/The Untouchables) Beverly Hills, California, 1992 I honestly envy you. That was also my dream, but I was never able to fulfill it. Antonio Banderas, Los Ángeles, CA., 1998 For his eighth birthday, Emilio Scotto received a World Atlas. Promptly he announced his plan to make a route that would pass through all the countries of the world, a route he named Blue Road One. When, some years later, he found himself astride a black 1100 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, Blue Road One beckoned, and Scotto set off on a journey that would last more than a decade, take him virtually everywhere in the world, and land him in the Guinness Book of World Records. This is his story, a thrill ride that begins in his native Argentina, crosses Panama in the tumultuous time of Noriega, Mexico in the midst of an earthquake, and finds him broke in L.A. where, in a chance meeting, Muhammad Ali gives him 50 dollars and a signed book.Breaching the Iron Curtain, crossing the Berlin Wall at Checkpoint Charlie, being blessed by the Pope, set upon by cannibals in Sierra Leone, fleeing Somalia on a freighter, Scottos adventures would be unbelievable if they werent true. His tale of touring the world from Tunisia to Turkey, Petra to Afghanistan, Yugoslavia to Singapore, traveling miles enough to take him to the moon and back, is unlike any ever told. Come along, for the ride of a lifetime.
  18. wish you the best but probably even more important be safe. I recently googled why Christian Neuhauser died on his mc...didn't know he had a third wheel. http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/newsandup...y_18_2005_news/ Wreck of the Week: RoadRunner Magazine Publisher Killed in Collision with 18-Wheeler Reports don't make it clear exactly how Christian Neuhauser's sidecar ended up under the tractor-trailer on Interstate 40 in North Carolina, but it appears that he lost control, causing the truck to swerve and fall onto him. This does nothing to raise our low regard of the safety of sidecars. The motorcycle publishing industry is mourning his loss. 19. I replaced my stock mirrors with the CRGs about 2 years ago. I really like them but lately I have noticed the left one won't stay up like it used to. I have to reposition it every couple of weeks, though the screws are tight, etc. I took it apart and I think it is the little ball bearing that fits into the socket has worn down or the socket is enlarged. I am thinking about writing CRG to see if they have experienced this with others or if mine is an isolated case. Most likely I just ride too much...you know, I probably exceeded the vibs per timemile(otherwise known as I warped).
  20. don't have any file space left to post them, so sorry boys....
  21. Stopped by the guzzi tent at Daytona but naturally made my way over to the Ducati fashion show a couple of tents down. Do you think it was worth it?
  22. check out this link from a local paper.... http://www.news-journalonline.com/NewsJour...EAD03030607.htm
  23. this last post got buried in my last submittal so thought it should get it's own posting... here is another big brother view for DLaing... watch it closely, the second gets quite a bit of air! AND the judges' scores are?.... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1akvu_mo...hoc-caen-tunel1
  24. Yesterday I spent the day at Daytona test riding various models (bmw k1200s, bmw k1200rs, Griso). After riding the Griso, I got on my Scura and rode the 50 miles back home. I am so totally pumped on how well the Scura is running (got 30K miles on it), that I wouldn't trade for the Griso. Sure the Griso has a lot of nice plastic (that doesn't compare to my Carbon Fiber IMO), Sure it goes into first gear without a clunk (just like dipping "it" in to a bucket of lard), Sure it has a little less vibration....but damn, where is the soul? I'll have to admit that Ti pipes on the Scura add to sensory impact, but even with that, running down the interstate in the 5000 to 6000 rpm range (just a little over the speed limit, officer) there is no question of LIFE! I just didn't get that rush from the Griso (no disrespect intended for Griso owners...and to each his own). Oh well, the misses is happy, she was afraid I was going to buy something while I was in Daytona. BTW, some guys chased me down on the interstate in a brand new 3/4 Ton pick up truck just to give me the 'thumbs up/ cool bike/wish I had one' sign. I gave them the nod then left them in the dust....
