  1. Why only once.....????? I liked it so much I bought the Island! ( Not quite....but the mortgage feels like it!!! ) Nige
  2. Wheels are nice.... Otherwise...Not for me. Really don't like the exhaust.....Gotta say well done for doing one possibly worse than the original though Nige.
  3. As I, and quite a few others, have been saying for a long time....It is likely to be a 'WHEN' rather than an 'IF' Nige.
  4. If they are replacing the clutch centre, looks like they are going for a late model twin plater. A safe choice, not sacrificing a lot of 'rev-ability' for road use. That is similar to the route I went with mine. I used a V10 10 spring dual plater. Very nice feel. Smoother. Nige.
  5. If you are thinking LM2 / Spada lowers, I would think the Sprint dual headlamp cockpit fairing might match up well. Be careful just sticking any bar mounted fairing on with them. There may be clearance issues, that is apart from any aerodynamic consideration.. Nige.
  6. You mean a bit like I did last year? I have posted pics a few times..... http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...ost&id=6289 Nige.
  7. Ah! on different ballot papers! Won't include the '90 Gileras and the recent Morinis then... Still a sterling effort though! Nige.
  8. Sounds like you may have got lucky there then! Nige.
  9. No, obviously I know that, I came to terms I was on my own with it and sorted it myself, that was all I was meaning. I wasn't aware there hadn't been a US failure before. Nige.
  10. TBH I don't think the US government would be interested in my problem. I have taken it into my own hands and resolved it so it is no longer an issue for me. Nige.
  11. If there is a moral to that, I would think it is make up your mind what you want before you buy it. Can't really get much more dissimilar bikes than those. Nige.
  12. Been done by a few of us ages back. Zilch response. Nige.
  13. Looks smart. Not too sure that the airflow off it is going to please you, but you are still at the 'suck it and see.' stage yet! Nige.
  14. I still reckon there is summat in racing the Cali's. They might look like a tarts handbag, but they go better than they should. Race 'em two up with full panniers, footboards and mainsail windscreens. Nige.
  15. Yep that is it....Thanks for that Paul! Nige
  16. That raises a point for me, Pete. You wouldn't happen to know if the unit fitted to my 2002 Cali Stone Metal ( 5 speed Tonti frame ) would be an 8 or 10 spring unit do you? I have located a lightened 8 spring clutch unit & wonder if it would be a good idea. TIA Nige.
  17. As I have posted before... I changed mine for a V10 twin plater at 6,500miles. I had it crack detected at work and it was on it's way to failure. There were cracks adjoining the mounting bolts. I STILL say IMO this is a WHEN not an IF! Nige.
  18. Could be a plan...... Otherwise you might have to keep telling folk whether you have your 'official hat' on or off! Nige.
  19. Thanks..I like the way it has come out......Wire spoked wheels..Now there is a thought..... I got some on my Spaghetti Western. ( Cali Stone Metal) I am not sure, but I think they may well be tubeless. Aye, that sounds promising. I pinched about an inch out of the seat to lower the altitude some, but would be interested in getting it to sit lower, if this is viable, without buggering up the geometry too much. Reverse cone should work well. Detachable baffling? Nige.
  20. Well ,I have to admit, it was a lot of work. Not least getting the single V11 headlamp to look right in it. There was a lot of dremel work too......It weighs about half the standard one! I am very happy with the way it came out & would certainly go the same route again, should the occasion arise. I have yet to find a better fairing than the LM2....Only thing that let it down for me was the weak rectangular headlamp. I can see you were thinking along similar lines with the Sprint fairing. Nice to know you have ongoing projects....Mine are on hold until we move house. Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labours! Nige.
  21. Smart! Now don't go taking it out on salty or icy roads! Nige.
  22. A right, I see.... A LM2 with a Spada engine....... Gottit! Sounds like a nice set up actually. I see they stuck with the smaller rectangular(?) headlamped smaller LM2 fairing upper rather than going with the larger 'touring' Spada version with the small round headlamp. ( CX in the UK has a rather unnerving psychological link to the Honda CX500 Well it probably has for folk of my generation anyways ) Nige.
