  1. Hi I have the Sportec M1 on my new Ballabio. After 1250km I would say: Performance: first class, best tyre I have yet tried. Wet: not much experience but so far very good Dry: Stable, sticky absolutely solid in corners. Lifetime: probably not good; wearing fast! Curl: no idea what this means, sorry A slightly different question: The papers for the V11 Sport in Germany list 170/60VR17 as an option for the rear tyre, instead of 180/55. Apart from the small saving in price would there be any advantage to trying a narrower tyre? Has anyone ridden the V11 Sport with the smaller size and would they recommend it? thanks Jonathan

Lex et al Many thanks for the links and excellent description of how to fiddle with the TPS. I agree its not fair to post pages from Guzziology and will buy the book when its available in Europe. After alot of dodging storms and sneaking out of work early I have reached 1400km and will get the Ballabio first service this Friday, after which I will have a go at the TPS setting. Maybe the dealer will adjust it at the first service but I doubt it. After a week of Aprilia Deutschland losing/finding the owners document for my bike I finally registered it this morning (in my name) - the nice lady gave me the plat DA (for Darmstadt) - MG 11 Many thanks for all the friendly and hepful advice on the list which just confirms again that its great to finally own a Guzzi Jonathan
  3. Probably a stupid question but does the headlight-relay rewire benefit all Guzzi V11s, or has the wiring been changed on later (2002+?) models that make this mod less effective or useful? My understanding from reading Gary's mail is that it would apply to all V11s no matter what vintage, but just wanted to be sure before embarking on what is, for me, some complicated electrical job I have a brand new 2004 Ballabio but certainly the headlight efficiency could be improved. Also, at least for EU models (or is it just Germany?) there is no light on/off/sidelight switch - the headlight is on dipped beam when starting the engine. Is there some way of working the mod so that power goes first to the starter and then to the headlight if there is enough juice on the battery? regards Jonathan

    MPG?

I am getting 5.93km / 100 litres (std way of measuring this in EU now?) = 16.9 km/l on a brand new V11 Ballabio - I just hit 1000km over the weekend. I got up to 320km on one tank and took 18.2l to refill - this suggests that the useable volume is more than the 4.7 gal (US) posted on the old "range" posts from the previous forum topics. The warning light comes on (going uphill!) at about 250km, but for real at about 270-280km. In imperial this equates to 39.6 mpg (US) or 47.5 mpg (UK), which seems not to bad and gives a total range of 350km if I could stuff in all 5.5 gal (20.7 litres) I will try the TPS setting/tuning and perhaps PCIII route, but more for power/smoothness than the economy (which seems to match my seat/butt interface limit quite well ) cheers. Jonathan.

Lex, thanks for your great post about setting TPS and the PCIII. Strong in the middle and much smoother.... I think I'll have me some of that too I will be buying Guzziology but it seems to take several months to get to Europe. Could you perhaps post some of the links or references as to where/how to set the TPS on a V11 FI system? Perhaps a cutting from the Guzziology section would be good? many thanks. Jonathan (1100km and riding!)
