  1. Many thanks to Uwe Reißler for pointing out some errors with the Quota 1000 wiring diagram and sending a better scan than I had originally. Many thanks as well to Ron Komoroski who not only supplied the wiring diagram for a 1982 125 Terrotereno, he sent the entire manual! I scanned the entire thing just for posterity.

  2. Happiness is having lots of Guzzis! At one point, I had five. When I retired, I had three but sold one, gave one to my son, bought a Norge and stayed that way until last week. Now I have a small block again only this time, it's actually fun to ride and looks good. I do miss the V11 Sport I gave my son though.

  3. 2007 Norge. Mistral+stock silencer, Skidmarx+stock windscreen, Fiamm horns, Gerbing dual heat controller added to fairing. Some minor plastic problems caused by screws departing on the unbelievably rough road I live on. At the moment, just under 20,000 miles. If I had known how much my wife would dislike riding a (semi)touring bike, I would never have bought it. Live and learn I guess.

$8100(USD). May consider a trade. You know, MV Augusta F4, Lamborghini Countach, whatever...

I'll even throw in the Gerbing stuff, the Bugswatter can't power them anyway.

    PM me if you're interested.

  4. OK, here's a starter -_-

Quote from V11 WHB: "If a signal from a sensor is interrupted, the ECU acquires its average value. This allows the motorbike to be used (even if it is not in perfect working condition)"

It's not 100% clear so we have lots of room to guess, argue and agree.

    :drink:

Does it specify which sensors? I'd go with any sensor except the TPS although even without the TPS the engine would probably idle. That would be a slow trip...

  5. I read somewhere that someone had already taken a close look at the engine construction of the 8 Valve and came to the conclusion that it was pretty close to maxed out for potential as it is. There is room for additional stroking though and we've been hearing rumors of a 1400cc mill for a while now. Considering the anal-retentive management at Piggio and the current economic state of the world, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.

  6. Some yahoo at Piggio looked at the sales statistics for the Houston area and came to the erroneous conclusion that the Houston area was a hot market for Guzzis and a second dealer there would further expand sales. Of course, same yahoo completely overlooked the fact that a good dealer with good service and an ability to cut through the warranty crap and make the system work is going to sell bikes. So, MPH winds up getting their market share cut and probably had to take on the warranty repairs of the other dealership as well since the new dealer would be unlikely to have the same sort of knowledge and skills as Mike and Todd. Warranty work is a money losing portion of the business and to have your sales cut but warranty work increase is a death knell for a low margin endeavor like selling Moto Guzzis. I bought my Norge from MPH, I don't know who or where my future service will be at but I should probably count myself as lucky that my bike is no longer under warranty thus giving me the choice where to spend my service dollars. It's a bit of a haul to MPH (500 miles) but I have a brother near there, so I've combined the trip in the past and likely will again.

  7. Reading the article, "Vintage Race Days" from newest "M/C Classics" when I see on pg. 60 there is a Cafe Sport and rider in a shot of a line of bikes. Anyone we know? The story is set at the Road Atlanta race track in Braselton, Georgia. I saw a Nero Corsa featuered in a riders wear ad in "The Robb Report" about four years ago, now this? Every where you turn, you see 'em... Sports, another LeMans...unique ain't what it used to be, eh? :huh2:

I've only seen one V11 LeMans in the 3.5 years I've been in Oklahoma. HD's on the other hand...

  8. Guys,

can we find the exact paint code (red colour) for the red 1100 sport ie 1998?

I know a painter can do a repaint, but it wont be exactly the same.

With computer analysis the paint color can be reproduced exactly. I'm less certain that all of the red Sport 1100i's were identical in color.
