  1. Whart, a few rambling thoughts.

I'd suggest application of the KISS principle when troubleshooting this.  Check all the easiest stuff first.  For starters, there's a very low probability that the PCIII is contributing to this (although it's not impossible).  Disconnecting it would be an easy way to eliminate it as a possibility, but there are other things I'd try first.

Since you've taken the step of ordering a new battery, I'd use a DMM or DVM when the new battery is installed to see if you can get a voltage reading between the positive battery post and each of the many leads (disconneting each from the battery!) that connect to the positive post.  Test each one with the ignition key in the OFF position.  If you find any voltage reading at all on any of them, you will have narrowed down a source of fault to that particular wire.  It's standard troubleshooting procedure from that point forward to isolate a short in a wire or a bad component.

It's possible that the old battery was at fault.  In this case - again with the new battery installed, you'll have a high probability of confirming this should you find no voltage at any of the wires in the scenario above, and unless there's a fault with the running circuitry (ignition ON), you're done!

It's also possible that you have a bad ground path, preventing your battery from charging properly underway.  Careful inspection and/or re-seating every ground conection is always a good idea.  Dielectric grease is always a good idea to inhibit pesky oxidation at any connector or connection point.  If your battery tender wouldn't charge, it's possible that the battery just got too low for the tender to function.

Keep in mind that intermittent electrical paths that may not show up in your garage may show up only when some combination of vibration and heat conspire on the road.

    Best of luck

    Here,here.Your a WIZARD. cheers :bier:

  2. Mark, why do you run your bike Optimax? When we holidayed in Surfers we put regular in our  BA rent a wreck and it worked OK. The gas we run them on here is our regular 91, my bike also runs faultlessly on the same stuff. Our 98 octane equivalent would be similarly priced to yours.

    Hi O2 V11.

I run 98 cause the bugger pings its arse off if I use 91 ,I can still get it to ping on 98 on a hot day. eg 35deg plus dogen it up to Gingers Creek around the 25k twisties :bike:

  3. Hi all.

New is good,Though I dont like the colour much on the Coppa.May take some time.My SCURA has only 16000KMs. Stock, only for some carbon and black paint that I did myself. Its comfy enough to ride all day,it handles beautiful {set up right} and looks a treat, Also gets the PISS flogged out of it.So go the Scura for me until I flog the piss out of a coppa I guess.

  4. Hi from Australia.

Just came to work this morning and paid $1.48 AU per litre for Optimax.Never been that high before, so whats the rest of the would paying if you dont mind. Gone up 20 cents per L in 4 weeks. Cheers Gilly. :bier:

    Hi Gents.

When i bought my grease gun, it came with a 5" metel tube that screws into the gun, and the end thingy that goes on the nipple screws onto the tube.this makes the thing solid. I then cut the tube and put a 90 deg angle on it 1cm from the end, just nere the thread and got my mate to tig it up. and presto. Cheers Gilly. :bier:

  7. Hullo there Mark!  Your post threw me for a minute.  I was drawing a blank on your agreement with Freddy's post, which was an agreement with me.  Then I realized Freddy's post was a year ago and so was mine!  Don't know if you realized this yourself, but it's always good to know when you're still in agreement with SOMEBODY today, even if it's from a year ago! -_-  BTW - I ain't changed my tune since then either. :P

  8. i can only praise the work that the TLM people did on my Ghezzi yesterday...Altho working on a GB for the first time, they did a great job, even went on to build a part that wasn't available in their stock !

    goed gedaan !

    jihem:)

I would like to buy a tailpeice from TLM but live in Australia, not sure about credit card over the internet,Got any surgestions.

  9. hi,

i totally agree with ratchethack, on my scura i find the bars perfects to drive 500 km a day an d if i had to modify it, i think i'd change it to a lower model. i don't really suffer from vibrations but i planned to put foam handles (good translation??).

I'm quite suprise when i read all your topics, because when i try to ride at high speed  i have to adopt a low position on the position on the bike to have good feeling on the fork, and it's a bit far from your high handle bars.

I'd like to add that the low position handle bar looks more race bike and i like it :sun:

I have to agree with u on this Freddy. My scura is comfortable as.1500kms in one weekend and i am ready to go again.Little vibe in right mirror, and thats about it.

  10. My crinkle paint looks really rough, but has not affected the way the motor runs...so I try to keep bugs smashed all over it to hide it.  Had a kid on a clapped out 'zuki he'd painted drunkenly with a broom ask me why it looked so bad...I told him his mom painted it.   k

i have a 2002 scura talk about crinkle.i had my guzzi dealer pull the motor out and i put paintstripper on it .lite hose and scrubingbrush, etchprimer then 2pak flat black. jobs right.
