1. sounds like now you don't believe in buell either and the moto morini is an illusion-- what do you believe in :D

I don't know...Just checked out the new Buell Ulysses (sp?) -It was a hell of a nice bike...for any manufacturer. :P:

  2. So far, I've had a battery light that kept coming on (bad grounds, relays), a nuetral light that stays on, and the right fork has a little of the gold starting to rub off. Other than that, no problems to speak of. Oh, and the engine case paint is bubbling. Nothing mechanical so far, but I'll probably start preventitive type fixes this winter to be safe.

  3. Well, I got mine with 10,000 on the clock, and have put on another 3800 or so since I got it in September. I'm pretty sure PO didn't have any problems, as he didn't mention it during the passdown, so I'm gonna say "no", mine hasn't failed (yet??) but I'll probably pull it this winter and check the measurement. It's possible that this run of 160-ish bikes wasn't affected-wouldn't that be nice?!? :)

  4. :mg:

    170 and it's official !!!   Thanks!!!!

Now, all we need to do is track them all down.

Have you ever been to the factory? And, is that part of ltaly good touring??

l could think of nothing better than to do some serious ltalian touring  :race: on my Tenni and get to hook up with you and other Tenni owners  :drink:  on the continent.

till then l'll have to be content with blasting around here on the lsland with the odd trip into the mountains of BC and Washington State.

    :bier:

    Cheers

If memory serves, the factory is near or on Lake Como, which is around Bellagio, near Milan, 3 hours from Switzerland, etc, etc... So, YES! That part of Italy is excellent touring! Let me know if you need a riding buddy! :mg:

  5. Is this PC? How to tell if you beer is cold enough.

Obviously the drink on the left is the correct temperature for those who like it cold...

Wow- talk about conflicting interests...I'm not entirely sure what part of the picture is more mouth watering! (Well OK, I'm kinda sure) :drink:

  6. 2002 V 11 LeMans

The bike runs and starts great, except for starting in neutral with the side stand down.  The starter will not activate with the clutch in, stand down and in neutral.  The neutral indicator light will not come on, most of the time.  If it does the bike will start in neutral with the stand down.  I now start the bike with the stand up and the clutch in. I also don't have to be in neutral.  Any thoughts would greatly appreciated.

If it's any comfort, I have the opposite problem, where the light stays on. Was very annoying at night, until I discovered a hi-tech fix utilizing electrical tape and an exact-o knife. Just :2c:

  7. Not looking for anything specific....but not ruling out any impulse items that I can see in person vs on a website catalog here in the USA.  Unfortuneatly, I will be up in Sacile/Venice after the 21st....so a no go for Motogiovane :(

I had heard that Italy is basically shutdown the month of Aug for "ferie"...but was hoping that I would luck out and find a few places open.  Unfortuneatly not going to be on a bike this trip either.

    Thanks

Yeah, a lot of stuff shuts down in that time frame, but still in a big city like Catania lots stays open. There is a Ducati/Guzzi dealer in downtown Catania, near Bellinni Park/Via Etnea area. I can't remember street names now, but it is next to the big Jaguar dealer. Then I believe, up the road in Aci Reale there is another one, but that may have been Harley/Buell only. Misterbianco might have one as well. Anyway, I'm jealous. Enjoy the food, the best Italian is in Sicily IMHO! :)

  8. 600 miles to Fallon, no problems, and no light(included an hour and a half at 100-mph-plus from Adelano to Lone Pine :D . Talked to a Guzzi tech in San Diego-his guess is the crappy Siemens relays. Makes sense, if the relay doesn't kick when it tries to charge, I think it's good for now, but I have the newer relays on order.

  9. Great job on the new section!

T128 and I just got home from San Diego on Friday- what a ride! No problems at all, and that includes an hour and a half, high speed cruise up higway 395 trying to get to Lone Pine before night fall! Now if only the weather holds out for a few more rides this weekend... :race:

  10. Well, in the 300 miles back to San Diego, I only saw the light once right as I pulled over at a rest stop, 10 miles from home. I'm going to call that good enough for now- and will plan on further investigation this winter. For now, I'm packing up- I'm finally done down here and head back home to Nevada on Thursday. Thanks for the help, everyone!

    -Brian

  11. Thanks, I'll take a look-see. I was just out looking around before I start to head home and found that- A: the previous owner had installed a battery tender or accessory-type lead off the battery, B: he had it routed under the tail section :glare: and, C: it has, for who knows how long, been rubbing against the tire and who knows what else, as the protective cap is long gone as is alot of the plastic around the connectors. Checked it with the voltmeter and it's hot alright. Just disconnected it, I'll bet that wasn't helping anything! I'll let you know how it turns out, but I'm thinking that might be it. Ahh the joys of used toys.

  12. Bloody Roos!!!! Don't get me started! I piled into a ditch a couple of years ago avoiding one of the sods. The bastards are everywhere!!! The biggest problem is that the Anti-Animal Cruelty softcocks won't allow them to be culled or harvested! There are many, many millions more 'Roos now than there were before white settlement due to the europeans having irrigated and built dams to conserve water as well as providing heaps more food by cultivation. The really sad thing is that when a big drought hits the wretched things die of starvaion and thrist in their tens of thousands. What is more cruel? Allowing 'em to die of thirst, (A particularly horrible way to die.) or a clean head shot with a high powered rifle? No contest really is there? Also they cost a fortune in insurance pay outs, hospital care, etc, etc. By all means keep a few of the little buggers around but the rest of 'em can be carpet-bombed for all I care.

Well, I feel a little better knowing that we're not the only ones with bleeding heart idiots trying to rid the world of common sense. :drink:

  13. ...They conclude that the Guzzi is the winner! :mg: the one that has the CHARISMA !!!! :mg::mg::mg:

Plus, all three of the testing editors chose the Guzzi as their personal favorite :race:

l think that that about wraps it all up my friends :D

    GUZZI'S RULE !!!!!

    :bier:

    cheers,

Well I suppose that settles it then! :)

  14. Yeah it was just stripped bare and wrapped around a starter bolt. Nice, huh? Well, I'm pretty sure that wire is getting as good a ground as it's going to now, so troubelshooting efforts are travelling elsewhere...I did check all the harness connections (which appear to be pretty low-end by the way) prior to finding that wire but will check again to be sure. Checked the regulator mounts and battery posts today, one was a little loose but still snug, added about a quarter turn. I'll check the voltage again... for about a week I watched it closely and it read in the normal(or what I'm used to seeing on other vehicles) range of around 12.5 up to 13.5 or so, RPM depending. It does act like a regulator, except for the randomly varying levels of intensity in which the light comes on, which got me looking for grounding in the first place. Plus nothing else (headlight, starting, etc) seems to be affected since I fixed the original wire. Is there a "main" ground strap somewhere? I haven't seen anything on the bike or the schematics-the tach bounces as well somewhat, maybe they're connected somewhere? Thanks for the advice, it's been a big help so far!

    -Brian

  15. Soooo- Just cleared my first 2500 miles on my first Guzzi (going nicely so far) and have but this one problem-

When I first got the bike, the battery light kept coming on. Traced down to a violet wire that previous owner had just wrapped bare around a bolt. <_ checked the schematics comes from regulator. no biggie added a fresh connector and attached to thru bolt on left side of tranny just forward starter. worked fine for awhile weeks until friday night freeway ride oceanside lemoore ca. started come back way out la so i stopped after got over grapevine it. little loose retightened it was... still there. yesterday put new connecter wire soldered before heading coast. now only seems high speed burst passing during hotter part day. any ideas going try relocate groung spot frame today- thinking that since resistance makes heat maybe same stands true thoughts are appreciated...>

    -Brian

    P.S. This bike rocks!

  16. Thanks a lot guys!

I'm going over the Reno dealer so see whats going on and I'll keep an eye on ebay, at the moment it seems that there are few V11 listed.

    Have a good weekend!

    62493

Yeah that one at the dealer was weathered pretty badly, as it sat outside a lot, so I'd try and talk him down on the price a bit. Good luck! And let me know if you get something, we'll have to meet up for a ride!

    -Brian

  17. Benvenuti! I'm in Fallon (about 60 miles east of you). There was, as of 2 months ago, a 2002 Lemans for sale at the dealer in Reno. It was a demo bike that I happened to find and ride, and the only one he had. Silver, and ran fine. Very low mileage(like 1800 or something). The dealer is off of East 4th street, in the downtown area. Lemme know if you'd like more info.

  18. Don't get me started.

God bless Eric Buell....some one that can think past eagles and chrome and nostalgia

for something that never really did exist except in a couple of very bad movies.

Hey ERIC!  Put that V-Rod engine in there. (I can't be the only one thinking this)

The wifes #3 son is sales manager @ a huge HD shop. He says the HDs aren't so

bad now days and I agree. He just hates the "Gay Pirates" (his words) he has to

deal with.  Nasty mean guys with tattos and swastikas doing 40 mph in a 45 zone.

I'd rather come upon a grandmother in a mini van pulling a boat.

At least she'll have the sence to pull over and let me by.

    62032

Ahh the V-rod. Barely keeps up with a V-Max(1983-ish??), if I recall the specs right...But, I agree- with the exception of rediculous pricing for what you get and an unbelievable amount of marketing hype, the big H-D is finally starting to crank out some quality. :mg:
